How To Get Anime Con Tickets

How much are the tickets for Anime Expo 2012?

Are you sure that you read the instructions throughly? Any FAQs you didn't read?
(OK, the website seems to be down at the moment, so I can't check for you)

Usually for these sorts of things, you get a discount if you pre-register online. It might be incremental, so the earlier you register, the cheaper the passes are. It should specify what exactly your order covers. Usually, you would get an option to go all days, or select individual day(s), at different prices. (Example: each days costs $25, but you can get a 3-day pass for $60.) The info for this should be provided, and you would select your choice (4-day pass, 1-day pass) when you place the order.

Also, sometimes events like this will have a dedicated forum where you can ask them questions like this.

How much are anime Boston tickets?

They haven't released the specifics for next year's convention yet, but you can keep checking for updates at their website (http://www.animeboston.com/). It's a little on the expensive side; last year tickets ranged from $30-$60 depending on what day of the week you went and whether or not you registered ahead of time or paid at the door.

Advice on anime conventions?

You can't call yourself an anime/manga fan until you have done at least one con. My cosplay is always Ikari Gendo...and my wife is Belldandy.

I love conventions. My wife has industry connections, so we get to have even more fun...like meeting Ishida Yoko at Animelo Summer a few years back. Anyway, here are some of my answers to your questions:

are there any benefit of attending dressed in cosplay? In the US it is fun...in Japan, it is considered something only done by professional cosplayers. There are no special benefits.

how much do you typically spend there? Last time, I bought life-sized figures of Asuka Langley Sohryu and Rei Ayanami...which set me back around $10K. No, I am NOT kidding. This was in JP...and yes, I am crazy. BTW, the figures have doubled in value. For regular non-crazies, I would suggest bringing between $250 and $500 for goodies, and hang on to your wallet or purse...as not everyone there is otaku.

any conventions near NYC coming up? Check the web and the local geek community.

how much to buy tickets (besides side money) and how long are the lines? Depends on the con. At Comicke (Tokyo Big Sight), it is usually by invitation and scalped tickets cost a fortune. The lines are beyond rational belief. At most major US cons, the prices are usually reasonable...around $35-$50 for the whole event...lines are lines, everywhere. If a major seiyu or J-pop singer is there, expect much higher prices and longer lines.

cat ears =3 ? Lots of Neko fans out there.

good food and stuff? (but no seafood. im allergic) Stay away from any tofu or soy based products if you have allergies to them.

hotel rentals and waking up at certain hours? Depends on the con.

Anime conventions are fun in the US, but they are absolutely beyond reason in JP. Remember, good professional cosplayers can make (are you ready?) over $200,000 a year.

Every otaku owes it to him/herself to go to at least one con.

Ganbatte. Ja ne.

I bought a ticket to an anime convention for $60, but my mom won't let me go for religious reasons? How do I respond to this?

Honestly… Sell the ticket. It's easier for you to understand her point of view then for her to understand yours right now. You have to gain her whole trust. Your mom just does not believe you have the level of maturity to understand certain things that may take you to a different path than what is morally right. It's a temporary thing. You'll grow up and have the choice to make your own choices but it's best to involve the person who gave birth to you when you make the choice of buying a 60$ ticket all by yourself. She's your main protector in life and is responsible for you. If she believes something is not right to attend to then don't go even if it's not religious.P.S. I don't know if you personally are religious or not but I have seen anime. It might not be the anime or you or religion that affects mommy's point of view. It might be the people SHE saw someone let anime affect them into becoming someone our society considers something negative, like Emo/Punk/Etc. I have seen someone who dresses normal, considers themselves straight and who may come from a religious family turn into someone who they are not just because they fit with that group of friends in school. It's just like not wanting your kid to not join a bikers club. Are bikes bad? Not necessarily but something about some biker clubs make people in them get violent. Someone might not want their kid to be associated with want sort of bikers club, not because they believe you would get involved in violence, but just to prevent it from happening over all. Your mom doesn't need to say religion is the reason she doesn't want you to go. She doesn't want you to go because she loves you and is afraid that you may make the wrong choice.

Anime Expo, questions?

So there's a high chance I will be attending Anime Expo 2016 and I have a few questions? I would really appreciate some answers, thanks!

-I know that if you purchase online it will be much cheaper, but if I were to purchase the tickets on site, for example 1-day how much would the price go up?

-Anime expo states that you have to have a parent/guardian assist you. If I were to go with my friend AND her parents, like if her parents would attend with us, would that be okay, or do I have to bring one of my legal guardians?

-How many hours does the convention last?

-Should I be early for registration?

Does Comic Con (India) have limited tickets?

Yes, that can happen if and only if the guest invited is a big shot. For example, if Kit Harrington (GoT fame) is slated to attend the comic con then surely you can expect a scarcity of tickets. Normally, it is never the case with Indian Comic Cons (I have attended 2016 & 2017 ones at Delhi). So, you can get tickets directly at the venue without the fear of them being sold out.
