Can I get a NOC for my bike in multiple states? I got a NOC from Pune to Bangalore and have not re-registered my bike in Bangalore. Now I have decided to move my bike to Ranchi (Jharkhand). Can Pune RTO re-issue a NOC for my bike from Pune to Ranchi?
No you won't be able to do so.After taking NOC from RTO you have to compulsory register your vehicle in RTO you took NOC for. Incase you wish not to register it then please do the following:Go to Bangalore RTO and take an acknowledgement from them for not using NOCGo back to Pune RTO with your vehicle stating reason why you did not registerCompulsory your vehicle will be physically verified before cancelling the earlier issue NOCAlso you cannot sell your vehicle during this period unless you are registered with any RTO. As of now, after taking NOC you technically do not belong to any RTO.So the easier of all this is register in Bangalore and then again take NOC for Ranchi if you intend to register it there.
Bike document transfer to other state RTO?
Sale of a bike involves two things: you must give the buyer your RC book, insurance and sale transfer form ,stating that you are the owner of the bike and hence fore with you transfer the bike and insurance to the buyer. This ensures that no stolen bike can be sold, because the original documents and owners consent are required. This is it on your end. For the buyer, he can show these documents and keep riding, if he does not want a name transfer. But if you want the name transfer done along with the sale, you have to submit it to Karnataka RTO. They will request your home RTO whether any accident has taken place or if the bike is stolen and if No Objection is given, transfer can be made. Typical time taken is 2 weeks to one month and cost id 600rs to 900rs.
I am selling my bike in the same state but different district. Is NOC compulsory in this case?
If the buyer falls in another RTO jurisdiction then yes NOC is mandatory. Form 28 is the relevant form for NOC which needs to be prepared in triplicate (3 Original copies). It's always safer to prepare a NOC in any case since some agents/officers do not know all the rules and might refuse to accept your documents without Form 28.
How do I get NOC in Bangalore for a bike brought from Hyderabad?
I used an AP registered bike in Bangalore for 9 Years without any NOC (off course i took it back to Hyderabad and sold it). As you can see there are lot of Vehicles from other states like AP, TN, PY, KL hence there shouldn’t be any issue. In fact if I remember correctly there was a case also which ran for years which was filed by a young man regarding the same for NOC, Road Tax etc. In between during 2014–15 there was lot of fuss for other states vehicles but seems its back to normal. The Basic Rule/Ground Rule that should be followed (which is also my driving style) is driving within the speed limits, don’t jump signals, wear helmets (you and pillion) helps you a lot. As long as you follow the rules you are safe and you will not be stopped.Still if you are moving to settle in Bangalore then you need to first get an NOC from Hyderabad and produce the same at the local RTO office and pay the Road Tax and drive the bike also get the number changed to KA (only if you intend to stay at Bangalore and dispose it to upgrade later). When you want to sell then you will get few bucks less as it will be AP registration etc. I heard there is an option to directly pay Road Tax without taking the NOC from Hyderabad but haven’t explored it.
