US Army ACU fit question?

hey there was just wondering, is it true that when you are scheduled to go get your ASU's fitted and all that done you head from BCT back to Reception BN and that while your over there you can get your gear fixed if it needs to and GET/TURN IN ACU'S THAT DO NOT FIT YOU FOR SOME THAT ACTUALLY DO?

just wanted to emphasize on that haha mines dont really fit me that well im a size small and they issued me mediums i told them but the ppl at Reception didnt care

also if i happened to buy an ACU coat while on HBL, can i take it back with me to BCT?
i bought it on ACUArmy.com and it says that it is within Regulations?
checked it out compared it to my issued one from Basic and looks the same except for the inside patch.

what do you guys think i should do?

Thanks in advance.

To join the military do i need to get physically fit first or do i need to join first and then get fit?

im a graduating high school senior im planning on going to college but i have no way of paying for all my tuitions.. so i've been looking for a way to pay and my friend told me about the military. unfortunately, i am not really physically fit. i am 5'9" and 180lbs. I cant really do much push-ups, run fast, and do any pull-ups. So in order to join the military do i need to get physically fit for the military first (such as push-ups, pull ups, runnig, muscle etc) or can i join the military first and get fit. Also they train you for bootcamp when you join? if so how long?

Should you join the military before or after college?

Oh boy… Someone with more time will probably write a beautiful answer to this question, but I’ll give you the short version.Going after: You have the opportunity to pursue a commission as an officer, which is a ton of work and responsibility but basically makes the whole experience better in almost every way, including pay and career prospects for after the military. If you don’t choose that path you still get automatic promotion to E-4 with a college degree, which means more pay and opportunity. You can also have the military pay off your college loans in some cases and still be eligible for the post 9/11 GI bill if you serve more than 3 years (These programs change and your mileage may very).Going before: You get the “full experience” and the camaraderie of being a Joe. If you don’t choose to go career, you basically get it out of the way. After you’ve been through military training and an enlistment, college will seem crazy easy. You won’t have to worry about loans at any point (assuming the post 9/11 stays around). You will also most likely have a better pick of schools, since most colleges are pretty good about letting veterans in. You would also have the option to go to college and do ROTC knowing a lot more about the military if you did want to commission. It would be an informed choice. For the record, I went in after and commissioned. The level of responsibility that you have thrust on you in that situation is unlike anything you will get in the private sector or anywhere else. If that’s what you’re looking for, I highly recommend it. Good luck.

How long does it take to get army fit?

just get to about a 3 mile run in about 20 min or so. Be able to do like 10 pull ups and like 100 (Army standard) sit-ups and push-ups. It wont take too long if you are consistent and you push yourself.

And idk if you are British or American but if you are American, screw the Army, join the Marines. USMC is the way to go, best fighting force in the world.

Good luck, and good for you.
