How can I get motivated to work out?

There are several ways to keep motivated for working out, I'll list a couple from my own experience, but first remember that the most important thing is how much you want it, and forcing yourself to understand that you will not succeed without hard work. There are many days when I feel tired and don't want to work out but I just think about my goal to keep motivated. Anyway, here are a couple day-to-day things to consider:
1. Make sure to get enough sleep. This will help your body get in shape and will give you more energy throughout the day.
2. Your body develops a pattern over time of when you are tired and when your second wind kicks in, if you work out at the same time every day your body will give you an extra boost of energy. I try to work out around 5 every day and I usually feel good enough to work out then. For a weight lifting session it is good to do it after you have eaten two full meals.
3. Make sure to eat filling meals that will give you the energy to work out. I usually eat something a little while before working out (not before cardio, of course because you don't want to cramp up).
4. Keep mixing up workouts. If a workout is too difficult/confusing/painful for you, it will make you not want to do it, and before long you will stop working out all together. Believe it or not, you will eventually enjoy working out (hopefully) and while it's not necessarily fun, your body was made for physical activity like this and rewards good workouts with a "runner's high."
5. If you are having trouble sticking to a workout or diet, start keeping track of when you cheat or skip a workout/meal and then have someone you respect/look up to that you have to report to at the end of every week/month so that you will be more inspired to keep to your workouts because you don't want to disappoint that person.
6. Set an exact goal you are working towards so that you can track your progress. The feeling of getting closer to your goal should be rewarding enough and motivate you to keep going.
7. Every now and then it's okay to skip a workout if you are not feeling up to it, as long as you mostly keep to your schedule it's okay to reward yourself every now and then if you aren't feeling up to a workout. Just make sure to keep working towards your goal after your break is over.

How to get motivated to workout?

I like watching the TV at the gym when I work out and putting it on an infomercial/paid program for an exercise program. The people in those commercials definitely motivate me! Plus I love the feeling of accomplishment that I get every day after my run, and I must say my body speaks for itself! You're thinking about working out now, so instead of thinking about why you should--go do it! You'll feel great! Good luck!

How can I get motivated to workout?

How do you eat an elephant?? One bite at a time. For you, this may be how you need to approach exercise. Start with mastering one exercise and make it one of the hardest ones. But devote a little bit of time each day to that one exercise . What if you were to start with something pretty hard like a pull up? Since you probably cannot even do one pull-up you will have to start with the progressions that will get you to the point where you can achieve your first pull up. Work a little bit each day on the three different progressions to do your first pull up. YouTube is loaded with tutorials on how to achieve your first pull up. So, you go to the gym one day and you do Australian Rows and that's pretty much all you do after you stretch out a little bit;spend a little while at the gym. . Then the next day you do negative pull-ups. Been 10 or 15 minutes on those doing as many as you can. The next day why don't you try to do some push-ups. Since you probably can't do those either look up how to do the progression so you can do your first push up. Just doing the progressions for a month or so should keep you busy and possibly get you interested in going to the gym. Maybe after a week or two you could just add in some light cardio . Since you will be getting endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin going in your brain you will feel good. Possibly this will stick and you will get into it.

I have no motivation to work out?

I have this problem myself however it's just about how much will power you have. If you're not determined to get that dream body then you won't, it's as simple as that. You need to maintain a positive outlook and be determined when working towards your body goal.
I tend to find that listening to workout playlists really helps when doing it, not only does it give you a beat to work along to but it keeps your mind occupied instead of focusing on the burning pain you'll feel if you're working out properly.
I'd recommend using a website called 8tracks.com and search for "workout" in the tags. People create workout playlists and they really help to keep you motivated.
Also find a photo of maybe a celebrity or someone with the figure you're working towards and put it on your mirror, make sure you see it everyday. Possibly make a list of goals you want to achieve by a certain time for example I have a list that states what weight and stature I want to be by the end of July.
Most importantly - BE POSITIVE.

I need motivation to workout!?

Well a motivation factor could be to impress someone you always wish that you could, maybe that person you like is with someone but hey not everything may last forever- and when they finally break up with that loser then by all means; go for the rebound and look good doing it. Alternatively you could consider looking attractive for your future mate and consider the fact that in a relationship that you can only really respect someone who respects themselves and let's face it- someone who lets themselves go obviously probably lacks the ability to care for anything else either. Not saying everyone is like that but let's assume that is what is going through the majority of people's minds. Yes, people can be evil but hey- it's always fun to shove that dirt they threw you right back! :D


Here's a few tips... if you need them:

For starters stress can affect your metabolism. If you stress yourself out with the concern of how you measure your progress then your already on a bad start. I personally find that everyone who tries working out/ dieting will find it impossible to actually make progress when they're simply too concerned about achieving a certain goal.

Secondly I guess if your not stressed then the next esscential step would be dieting. Drinking AT LEAST a gallon of water (I hear you technically need two gallons but who are we kidding sometimes, not all of us are going to spend the day by the faucet sipping on water).

Lastly, how long are your workouts and what workouts are you doing? Certain workouts like crunches will burn only burn little fat but only build muscle. So sometimes the illusion of gaining is put off by muscle gain at the same time. Either way; doing cardiovascular workouts that affect your entire body like Running, Squatting, Playing Sports, swimming, etc. will greatly improve how you look by burning fat. You can't do just one routine and expect it to berid of all your body fat. It takes time and it takes alot of energy. If time is a problem then by all means; go to a nearby health store and check to see what vitamins they can offer. If time is not an issue then just go and do whatever, getting out of the house may not be a bad thing but remember to never follow a routine- be spontaneous and make it fun. ^,^

How can I get motivated to workout as a teenager?

I have a secret of motivation that will work with anyone .Using this simple technique I was able to overcome my laziness and procrastination and I workout almost every morning. It has become a habit.According to me the real reason we don't achieve success, we don't like to work hard is hidden within our thoughts and mindset. I have no motivation to workout!!!!?

You probably quit because you don't have a clear plan, so you don't see results. If you aren't getting results, then you won't be motivated to stay with it.

The first step is to write down some goals.What specifically are you trying to accomplish? To lose weight? Or maybe to gain muscle tone? Maybe both of these? What ever it is you are trying to achieve, write it down. Also write down all of the benefits you will gain if you achieve your goals. Will you feel better? Will you look better? Be VERY specific when listing the benefits. Actually feel the emotion you would feel if you were already at your desired levels.

After you have your goals, the next step is to tell family members and friends what your goals are, and ask them for some support. They can encourage you to keep your promises to yourself, and also remind you of what it is you will gain if you keep striding towards your fitness goals.

Always be kind to yourself. Some days you will just not feel like working out. That is OK. Just commit to getting back on your plan the following day.

Learn about some home fitness routines you can do. That way, if you can't get to a gym, you can still get in a great workout. In fact, I do nothing but body weight exercise and interval exercise at home. I never go to a gym, but you may prefer the atmosphere at a gym. I don't. You can get a full body workout in at home in as little as 20 minutes without any equipment.

How can I get motivated to start working out again?

Last year I weighed myself after Christmas at 205 with a high of 208. At that point I looked at my wife and said, "Enough f'ing around, I am going to the gym." And I went, every other day for the last year. I didn't lose the weight fast, I also built some muscle and weigh in at 181 as of this morning and hope to be 171 in the next 3 months. That was my "gotta go do it" moment.

To me it sounds like you are nearly there.

The first step is to say to yourself "I am going to make a change." And you need to mean it. You need to start small. Throw out all the junk food in your house. Start walking more. Go to goodwill, play-it-again, craigslist, ebay, wherever and get some dumbells and a yoga mat. Seriously just start slow and do some basic routines 3x a week while walking daily.

You have to schedule and force yourself to do this. It will NOT be easy the first month and that is what really sucks.

What I do before big workout days is drink a few cups of coffee and get a little wired. Don't go that route if you are extremely sensitive to stimulants, but I find that it gets me more focused to the task at hand. Plus it is zero calorie and cheap and I personally like the taste a lot. I find that it works well.

Another motivator for me is drive to succeed and fear of failure. I have gotten to the point that I not only don't miss workouts, but I want to move the weight (in the gym) so badly that I HATE to miss a workout. A workout log for me is that motivator. It tells me what I have done and what I need to do.

I also keep a calorie log. I just write down everything I ate for the day and add up the total. I am at the point that I can accurately estimate calories even in resturaunt food (which is good because that crap is loaded with hidden cals). It helps me make sure that I hit my daily totals and don't over or UNDER eat. Need to keep the energy up!!!
