How To Get Original Windows 7 Boot Screen Back

Why is my windows 7 not booting past the start up screen?

Very difficult to tell you what is wrong without access to the machine. Could be a failing hard drive, system files corrupted by virus or spyware, or several other things. There are good options to recover your data, and given that you at least get to the login screen, it's likely the data can be recovered.1. A Live CD or USB of some sort. Linux distros, Hiren's Boot, etc.. There are several. This requires you be at least somewhat technically savvy, or at least be a good Googler and able to read and follow directions to create a bootable USB and use it to recover your data.2. Remove the hard drive, and use something like Amazon.com: Sabrent USB 2.0 TO SATA/IDE 2.5/3.5/-INCH Hard Drive Converter to plug it into another computer, and recover your data that way.  This is actually simpler in many ways than the first option, but again, if you are not tech savvy, this is not for you.3. Call a professional.

Still getting black screen with a windows 10 / amd graphics driver combo.?

Ok I just upgraded to windows 10, I'm running a HP-Pavilion GN702AA-ABA a6244n with an AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics card.
I've gone through several sites, tried the fixes I found still getting the black screen when I install or immediately after, such as when I click the firefox button. I tried the fix where you let windows auto update the graphics then you uninstall and reinstall it. I tried to use the catalyst installer on custom and just get the drivers, but no go.

Resetting my computer / Windows back to original factory settings?

Sony will simply send you their restore disk, very useless if your worried about useless clutter. And the geek squad will offer you a reinstall at most likely the full price of the operating system.

The laptop will have the version of windows posted on the bottom of the laptop. It will be a sticker that will say Windows *** Home/ Professional, or whatever version you have.

Firstly go to the sony website and download all the drivers there that say required on them. Optional software is optional, but most of it says what it does. What you download is up to you. Downloading all of the files will give you a lot of clutter. Burn these to a CD or put them on a flash drive.

Google the version with the words OEM iso. You will find what is called an OEM disk. This is very important that it is an OEM version or else you key that is on that sticker will not work at install. Once you find an OEM disk you can burn it with an ISO burning software. You may already have nero, roxio, or sonic, if not you can google freeware iso burner and find lots of programs with the purpose of burning it. Once you have the disk burned, boot with it in your drive.

It will say press any key to boot from CD. Press any key :). After this most directions are easy to follow. When it asks for your key, enter the key on the bottom of the laptop. Once everything is setup you now have a clean install of windows. Install the drivers you downloaded in the beginning and any other software you like to use.

Also if this seems to complicated you can mail it to me and I can do it for you, but I will charge you about 50 bucks to do it. PM me if that's something you're interested in.

Both of these are very effective methods. The other post will give you the original factory settings. Mine will give you something better, a laptop without all the bloatware and trial software Sony things you "might want". The choice is up to you :).

Also vista has many versions. Saying vista is not that important. It can be Vista Basic, Vista Home Premium (most likely), Vista Business, or Vista Ultimate.

Another option:
If speed is a big thing for you, it may be in your best interest to upgrade to Windows 7. This is the most expensive option, but will give you a nice boost of speed. Vista is notoriously slow.

Windows 10 Asus Laptop Wont Boot?

My Asus laptop has been getting "FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE" every so often since I updated to Windows 10. I looked this up when it started happening and it seemed common on Asus laptops. Today it happened again but after it wouldn't boot right. It went to the Asus loading screen and loaded then it would go to black screen. I rebooted multiple times and it kept doing it so I looked it up and found a few pages that said to unplug battery and hold down power button for 30-60 second then plug battery back in. I tried that and after the Asus loading screen it went to "Recovery It looks like Windows didn't load correctly" and gave me advanced options and restart option so I click restart. Then it went to Asus loading screen and black screen again like it was doing before! At this point I figured I would try and get help from the internet. ;-;

Windows Startup repair not working?

Try StartUp Repair from a Windows Installation or Repair Disk which often workd when
it does not from Recovery or a Recovery Disk. If needed you can make a Repair Disk
on any computer with a CD burner running XP, Vista, or Windows 7 since there are no
files used from the Host computer.

------------------------
You can try some of these in Safe Mode - repeatedly tap F8 as you boot.
If you do not have a Windows 7 disk you can borrow a friends as they are not copy
protected. Your System maker will also sell the physical DVD cheap since you already
own Windows. Also you can make a repair disk on another computer.
Try Startup Repair - (If at ANY point you gain some but not full access to Windows come
back and try Startup Repair again.)
