He/she will also talk to you about your motivation for adoption and your decision making process. Depending on your state, home study takes place within two months of your registration date. 5. Once home study is done, the wait for your child will start. 6. Please note that the adoption authorities are very diligent in matching your child with your preferences. You can give the following preferences with respect to your child:a. Genderb. Agec. HealthOnly One child will be shown to you at a time. If you accept the child, the legal proceedings will start. If you do not accept the child, another child will be shown to you after a gap of three months, or whenever a child as per your preferences is available.Please note: Most of the people in SARA and Adoption agencies are quite helpful. Will they pierce baby girl's ears in hospital after birth?
It depends where you live... I pierced my baby's ears the second day she was born in the hospital. But there are many hospitals who don't do it... My baby is 11 months old, and her ears are perfectly fine. My mother also pierced my ears at the hospital too, and all the baby girls that I know also did it in the hospital. Call the hospital in advance, there are medical earings that you have to put for the first year to prevent ear infections, and you have to turn it everyday after shower for the first 3 months. "Gold earings and other kind of jewelry is not recommended"
