http://www.therabreath.com/badbreath/cure-tonsil-stones.html

Therabreath mouthwash (only) helped me alot you can buy it at any local Walmart,Long's Drugs,Vons,Albertons store or any medical store it really works also try using Listerine Mouthwash that helps kill the bacteria from the tonsil stones so they dont form no more it has worked for me so good i havent gotten them since August =) im so happy

and if you get them there are many homeway's to take em out you can simply try taking it out with a Earcleaner or a Mouth pik cleaner it will make you gag really crazy but you will feel better after and you will get used to it

Try eating not much chocolate btw

hope you find a way to make it better
dont get a tonsilsectomy-however you spell it
good luck =)
and wish you the best

Can you get strep throat without your tonsils once a year?

You can indeed get strep throat without the tonsils, it is a strep infection not a tonsil infection, you cannot get tonsillitis without tonsils. I always wonder why there is so much confusion over this.

EMT Paramedic

Will removing my tonsils help my strep throat infection?

i have strep throat and it hurts really really bad. ive been taking all the medications my doctor had gicvin me but it doesnt seem to work. so im thinking that i should get my tonsils removed. is it a good idea? oh and im 15.

Help how can i get rid of my sore throat fast and easily please i need step by step?

No medication makes this pretty tricky - is your objection to medication the fact that you tried some and it didn't work? If so, it might be worth giving it another try, but with something more likely to work, as follows: if you are not asthmatic or otherwise over-sensitive to aspirin-type drugs (if you are, please check with a doctor before doing this), try gargling (like with mouthwash) some soluble (i.e. the type you dissolve in a glass of water) aspirin, co-codamol or paracetamol (paracetamol is less effective).

These are the British names, so if you live somewhere else they might be sold under brand names, but your chemist should still know what I mean.

You can repeat this, for a minute a time, every hour or so to start with, then every couple of hours once your throat settles down. Try not to swallow it though, as this will mean you can't do it as often.

This should work, because aspirin and co-codmaol are drugs called "anti-inflammatories", and applying them at the site of the pain / inflammation should work wonders.

However, this only treats the symptom, not the cause, so you should also drink plenty of fluids, rest as much as possible, and possibly take some vitamin C (you need to be taking doses of about 500mg twice a day, preferably with zinc as well) for it to be effective, and you might want to eat more fruit / cereal / bread, because vitamin C can have some... interesting effects on your stomach if you don't eat enough fibre.

If you are absolutely determined not to take any medicines, hot water with lemon juice and honey should soothe your throat a bit (at least 1 lemon's worth of juice, or 3 to 4 tablespoons, per mug, plus enough honey to take away the sharpness (usually about 1 teaspoon)). This will also give you more vitamin C. It won't work as well as medicines though - nothing will.

Finally, if you're a decent friend you should warn your friends coming to the sleepover that you're not well, in case they would prefer to stay away rather than risk catching whatever you have.

I hope this was step-by-step enough for you.

Thick, sticky green phlegm at the back of my throat?

I'm 18, never smoked, no one in my family has ever smoked. As far as I'm aware I have no respiratory problems. But ever since I can remember, I've always produced thick, super sticky, BRIGHT GREEN phlegm that lines the very back of my throat. It gets very sore, especially in mornings, as it feels like there's always a build-up or a sense of "pressure" of the phlegm being there, all the time. When I cough it up (which isn't always successful, and I always need to do the same again after like 1-2 hours), the phlegm is so sticky is sticks to my uvula and I have to physically, with my fingers, remove it from my throat which is obviously tricky/inconvenient/gross!
I've just had enough of it really. I don't want it my whole life (I already have chronic pain syndrome as it is) and so I'd be grateful for any info or long-term solutions you may have, as I'm aware this isn't because I have a cold/I need a humidifier in my room haha.

Thanks

By the way: my dad has always had this too. Could it possibly be a genetic problem/allergy?
Also, I asked this Q before but the only reply was "it could be your tonsils"... I had them removed last July because they were a trouble, so it's definitely not them ahahha.
