Bleaching agents and creams are a common way to get rid of freckles. Bleaching agents usually contain hydroquinone, a chemical that fades skin color, and are available over-the-counter or in stronger prescription form. A bleaching skin cream, applied directly to freckles, can get rid of freckles by slowing the production of melanin and fading their color to that of the rest of your skin. Be careful, though: over-application or misuse of bleaching agents can cause serious skin irritation and damage.Laser resurfacing is an effective way to get rid of freckles. Usually performed by a dermatologist, the doctor will numb the area around your freckles with a local anesthetic, then remove the top layer(s) of your skin with a laser. Your skin will usually take 1-2 weeks to heal after laser resurfacing, and long-lasting results will be varied.Chemical peels can also get rid of freckles. Usually available through a dermatologist, a chemical peel is an intense exfoliation of your face that uses harsh chemicals to peel away several layers of skin. A chemical peel will reduce the appearance and visibility of your freckles, and your skin should heal after a day two. Sensitive skin can take longer to heal.Liquid nitrogen treatment (cryotherapy) is often used to get rid of freckles. Also known as “freezing” (because it’s so cold—duh), liquid nitrogen is also a common treatment for warts. When applied directly to a freckle, the liquid nitrogen forms a blister that effectively lifts the freckle out of the skin then causes it to fall off. Cryotherapy can be painful and should not be used on the same area skin more than once a week.Treatments containing retinoids can get rid of your freckles. Retinoids are a class of natural chemical compounds related to Vitamin A and used in the treatment of many dermatological conditions, including freckles. The brand-name Retin-A cream or gel contains the retinoid Tretinoin and is often used to treat acne, but can also help you get rid of your freckles. Side effects can include dry skin and increased risk of sunburn.

A freckled complexion is one of the latest North American beauty trends, popularized by celebrities like Emma Stone, Emma Watson, and Julianne Moore. Some women have even gone to the lengths of having freckle-like marks tattooed on their faces. East Asian women may not be fond of this North American trend, however, being known to prefer clear, pale complexions. Whether you like them or not, freckles are a phenomenon that often sparks curiosity. Have you ever wondered what freckles are and what causes them? The answer lies in your genes.Skin color is determined by the amount of melanin in your skin; the more melanin you have, the darker your skin will be. Sometimes melanin can be more concentrated in certain skin cells, resulting in freckles. This explains why freckles darken upon exposure to UV rays from the sun. UV exposure causes certain skin cells to produce melanin, making skin (including freckles) appear darker. In the same way that you inherit your hair and eye color from your parents, you can inherit freckles. In fact, scientists have identified several genes that are known to cause freckles. One of the most well-known ones is called MC1R.¹ Sometimes this gene is referred to as the “red hair gene”, which explains why red hair and freckles often go hand in hand. It’s important to distinguish between freckles, sun spots, and moles. Freckles, also known as ephelides, first develop at about 2-3 years of age. Freckles sometimes fade with age, and can darken or lighten depending on sun exposure. Age spots, also known as lentigines, are seen much later in life, usually after 50 years of age. These spots are caused by accumulated sun exposure rather than genetic factors, and these spots don’t typically fade.¹ Moles are also caused by skin cells with higher concentrations of melanin; however, these spots tend to be permanent and don’t change throughout life.²Freckles, moles, and age spots aren’t inherent health concerns, but they should be monitored for abnormal changes. If you notice any suspicious changes in the border, colour, or size of a spot on your skin, seek the advice of a dermatologist.

Fade the freckles?

im an esthetican and I know for a fact that you cannot get rid of hyperpigmentation. You can only diminish the appearance- the ONLY FDA approved product to help with "freckles" is a product that contains an ingredient called, "hydroquinone". I know by experience that Aveda offers a "brightening essence" that has that ingredient in it.. its a 2 products- spot treatment & moisturizer.. however- you NEED to wear an SPF 15 sunscreen to prevent anymore hyperpigmentation.. In about 2-3 months it can decrease the appearence by 50%.

heres their website. http://www.aveda.com/templates/products2/mpp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY10989&BACK=%2ftemplates%2fproducts2%2fmpp%2etmpl%3fCATEGORY_ID%3dCATEGORY10554

and within the next few months theyre launching a new line that is for hyperpigmentation.. I think before fall it should be in store.

How can I get freckles on my forehead?

I'm a ginger, 14, and I've always worn my hair with longish bangs (like eyebrow length). I have a lot of freckles on my face, but none on my forehead. I want to cut my hair pretty short soon, like no bangs short. How can I get freckles fast on my forehead, and what would be a good short hairstyle for me (red hair, roundish face, blue eyes)? I want something that doesn't require much maintenance, maybe some mousse or something but not much more. What do you think?
