How to get rid of rust stains?
Ok, this sounds a little strange, but I learned this from HGTV and it does work. 1. Mix Cream of Tartar and Lemon Juice to form a paste. 2. Apply the paste to the rust marks. 3. Let that sit overnight. 4. Wipe with a clean wet rag. This erases rust marks like magic. Cream of Tartar is the white powder leftover from wine making. You can find it in the spice section at any grocery store. And you want to use "Real Lemon" for the lemon juice (the stuff in the green bottle)...not lemonade or anything with sugar. Why it works: Cream of Tartar is an antioxidant. Lemon is also an antioxidant. Together they make a super-antioxidant...and rust is simply oxidation. This paste absolutely dissolves rust. Important: test a small spot before using. This paste is extremely powerful and you don't want to hurt the finish of your bathtub. Good luck. -
