How To Get Rid Of Slow Computer Startup

My computer is very slow in the start up. how to remove the unwanted files in booting?

goto start menu > then "RUN" type
msconfig
and press enter. You will see a new popup window. There you will see the last tab "STARTUP" click it
there you will find all the files which load at your start up.

Secondly I prefer you to get two softwares.
1- TONI ART EASY CLEANER
(http://tucows.worldcall.net.pk/preview/355248.html)

The second one i recommend is
2- Lavasoft Ad-aware Professional
(http://rapidshare.de/files/7356237/Ad-Aware_SE_Professional_v1.06r1-DVT_by_GERZ.ru.rar.html)

These two software maintain the windows system registry. So use them... too ...

What is slowing my computer down on start up?

The best thing would be to check the startup process for sure. You can use Ccleaner. I use that tool, its free and gives you option to see start-up process, clear up registry and unused data of uninstalled applications. You can also see the individual components usage at initial time upon boot up as follows:Task Manager > Resource Monitor > Overview/CPU/Memory for utilization. And the best would be do fresh install.I am assuming that you are using Windows. If you are using linux system, then it becomes very easy. You can use top command, powertop, cpuinfo to know the processes causing slowdown.

Why is my computer so slow at a startup? How do I improve my uptime?

Aside from the overloaded HDD cause I'm sure if you were running a SSD you wouldn't be asking this, the amount of items that start when your computer starts. All those handy little bars and auto updates and extras you have allowed over time in the name of laziness are now costing you serious resources and ultimately time. How many little icons are in the bottom right of your screen by the clock? How many search bars and hey how many services are running when your boot sequence is completed? Is your PC making that lovely clicking ratcheting sound all the time when it's on? Do you defrag? Do you get rid of junk files? Do you have multiple system cleaners and anti virus and malware programs running. Hell, are you running anything Norton or mcaffee? Those two by themselves suck and are serious resources hogs. How about chrome. Do you allow it to continue running even after u close it. Check the task bar. It will probably have an icon down there. How about task manager? What about your startup folder? How much crap do you have like wild tangent games and whatnot that you could probably use your web browser to access but instead let an app run all the time on your computer? How old is your machine? Today's programs are designed to run on today's machines and although yours may meet requirements it likley isn't optimal

Why does my computer take so long to start up?

I will divide this answer in two parts. If you will not format your PC for a longtime then surely you gonna face some slowedown issue. This is because users always install something small or big apps and that tends slow down PC start up. Some of the apps that cause slowdowns are : Steam, Garena, Adobe updater (AAM updater), Antivirus, there are some viruses which cant see in task manager but consumes your CPU alot, Chrome apps.I know many people will not agree with my second point but truth is truth. Kaspersky is the worst thing you can have on your PC. Never ever installany antivirus on your PC ( Specially- McAfee, Avast, Kaspersky, Quickheal, Norton). Antivirus destroy your PC. If you know basic of using a PC then you will never need any antivirus. You just need one software and that is Microsoft Security Essential on windows 7 and Windows defender on Windows 10(Comes pre intsalled). Thats it. I REPEAT, DO NOT INSTALL ANY ANTIVIRUS . DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER IT HARMS YOUR PC OR NOT JUST DON'T INSTALL.PLEASE.HOW YOU GONNA SPEEDUP?The only possible answer here is to format you PC. Also, try uninstalling some apps and games that are not important for you. Remove useless chrome and firefox extension. You might see some difference.THANK YOU.

Why is my computer so slow?

If your virus/spyware free, there are a couple things you can do get your computer working faster. If you using your computer for normal stuff and not gaming. You don't always need more RAM you just need to perform a few maintenance task.

First, if you haven't cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC's resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Do a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.

2. Clear your Windows cache files, this is your temporary file. It can grow up to a large volume and stop your computer from using RAM properly. In a sense slow it down by preventing it from using free space. Here is how:

1. Quit Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other web browser
2. Click Start, click "Control Panel", and then double-click "Internet Options".
3. On the General tab, click "Delete Files" under Temporary Internet Files.
4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the "Delete all offline content" check box , and then click OK.
5. Click OK.

3. Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:

1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab
5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.
6. Click "OK"

Windows 7: Slow startup?

Ø Clean registry with reliable registry cleaner and system optimizer tool.

Ø You can manually shorten the list of start up items through following steps.

1. Click on Start button.
2. Go to Run.
3. Type MSCONFIG and press Enter.
5. In the System Configuration Utility go to Startup tab.
6. Here you can uncheck those programs you do not want to start.
7. Now go to Services and disable unnecessary Services.

Always be careful while disabling services because few of them are important for Windows.

Ø Defrag your system registry with third party PC optimizer.

Ø You may also use Disk defragmenter which is a separate thing from the registry defragmeter. You can ignore this step if your Windows 7 is relatively new.

a. Click on Start.
b. Go to All Programs and then Accessories.
c. Click on System Tools and move to Disk Defragmenter.
d. Done

Above steps are really helpful while to fix Windows 7 slow start up. However, there is one popular tool named Registry Cleaner and PC optimizer that you can use to fix this issue without spending too much time dealing with various components yourself.

Using third party tool such as RegInOut is important because you cannot deal with sensitive part of operating system yourself. Mostly problems occur because of internal Windows settings. Even if you are successful by manually performing above steps, you cannot do that regularly.

Can I remove these programs from my computer's autorun at startup?

The programs below run automatically when I start my computer. Are there any that I should not remove? My computer is running slowly and I'd like to get rid of whatever is not necessary to activate at startup. Thank you!

Quicktime
SunJavaUpdate
TkBellExe - RealNetworks Scheduler
Windows Defender
APC UPS Status.lnk
ctfmon.exe - CTF Loader (publisher: Microsoft)

Also, I have already run Spybot S&D, Adaware, Windows Defender (W.D. never seems to find anything!) & AVG.
