What does your computer desktop say about you?

I have 2 monitors, the bigger one is to my right, and I run it on a smaller resolution to prevent overheating of the GPU (It hardly matters, the screen is about 5 feet away). I prefer using two monitors than one since it leads to an organized workplace.I can multitask more efficiently. I often do work like editing wikia, etc. which require me to on 4-5 windows simultaneously, and having 2 monitors makes it easier. When recording for YouTube, I can play on one, and control the recording software on another.I can just switch to the bigger screen (32″), connect a controller, and play for hours on end, while comfortably lying on my bed 10 feet away.My DesktopAs you can see, it's squeaky clean, or it appears like it.Have you ever started cleaning your room after learning that a guest is visiting? What you do is put everything in the same closet/drawer. Slowly, you start using that drawer for storing junk. The result? The junk folder that still stores homework done two years ago (Which I haven’t deleted because it acts as a good PowerPoint template, and that I’m lazy), has traveled through 2 computers, and is shared on a homegroup with 3 other computers, is 3.28 GB.The Control Panel icon says that It’s been 3 years and I haven’t noticed or removed it yet.The Recycle bin says th- wait… It’s not empty? There. The wallpaper says little about me, except that I’m a potterhead, and a Halo fan (first two games, all books). I have a slideshow of more than 60 wallpapers. My TaskbarMy Taskbar doesn’t contain a lot of things.Mozilla Firefox: It has a better download manager, I’m too lazy to download chrome extensions.Google Chrome: Pretty self-explanatory. I use it as my primary browser.Deluge: μTorrent gives me the ‘blue screen of death’, and I haven’t been able to troubleshoot it. Hence, an alternative.BlueStacks: Android Emulator, use it to play for my YouTube channel, and record it onOBS: Screen recording.Discord: Chat servers for gamers, primarily used for the Quora chat. Most of my shortcuts are on the start menu, so we can say that the use of the desktop/taskbar is minimized.(Crickets in the background)

What was your first computer experience like?

Ah, the good old days.By the time I was in high school, I wanted a computer. The only problem was, my father wouldn't buy it for me. His reasoning? There was a state level quiz competition which had a computer for first prize. If I wanted the computer bad enough, I would go win it.So I tried. While I was in eighth standard, I have the school level round of the exam. I came second. Only the winner would get to participate in the next level, and I was left licking my wounds. Ijaz Aslam, the winner from my school, managed to go all the way to the state level, came second, and won a television.Next year, I tried again. The first thing to do was beat Ijaz at the school level, which I somehow managed to. Was kind of smooth going from there, and I won the district level too. The state level quiz was particularly exciting because of the added incentive, but thankfully, that worked out too.So now I had a computer. It was assembled. It had one of those archaic CRT monitors, an AMD Athlon processor, 128MB RAM, 40GB hard disk and a pirated version of windows 98. There were floppy and cd drives (no cd writing ability), and ps/2 keyboard and mouse. Was probably the barest system imaginable around then.I was still really, really excited. Unfortunately, I wasn't going to be able to actually use the computer for a few more months - We were going to move to a new house, and my parents didn't want to take the trouble of transporting the unboxed components. I spent the months literally dreaming about the comp. When the time finally came, I was over the moon. I had my own computer. It had songs (pirated), and even games (pirated)! At that time, I had no idea how limited the specs were, and I wouldn't have cared either because it was my baby.Just the next day, I managed to make my first big screwup with the computer. I had seen that there were two copies of the songs folder with identical contents. Since the hard disk size was so small, I decided to delete one of the copies to save space on the disk. I merrily clicked OK when I got the warning that the deleted files would not go to the Recycle bin since their size was so large. After the success of the noble task, I tried to open the "other" folder. That is when I realised that there was something called shortcuts. Too late, everything was gone. That was April 2004, and I have been finding more outrageous ways to screw things up with computers ever since.
