What APIs exist for photo's background removal in iOS and Android apps?

As I know, there is no existing iOS or Android APIs which accept an image and return you a layer mask which you can directly use to retrieve foreground from background. It’s very hard for algorithms to accurately tell you which part of the image is foreground or background. Humans can tell foreground from background because we already know all objects in the photo. For example, for a portrait photo, we already know the person will be the foreground object. So, almost all existing algorithms for background removing are based on something called “interactive cutout”, which means users will first select some foreground or background area as an input of the algorithm based on their knowledge of objects in the image, then the algorithm will calculate possible foreground or background based on users’ selection. The following SDK/APIs is the only one I can find for mobile. It’s very powerful and get the job done well.TinyCrayon/TinyCrayon-iOS-SDK

How do I avoid shadows from iPhone in pictures?

The same as you would with any camera, pay attention to the light. Shadows are determined by the distance of the light to the subject and background. The closer the light is to the subject, the closer the subject can be to the background due to the inverse square law.

Are there hidden apps on my phone?

For an answer: please provide the current version of your “OS”, or = Operating System(e.g. - Android, iOS, WebOS, etc.)So - if you’d go into your SETTINGS> on phone, and scroll down to see [ABOUT] PHONE> then, though it may vary slightly, click on either …. SOFTWARE> or, ‘CURRENT VERSION’, INFO.- - You’ll see it there.**THAT IS, if you are using an Android phone☝I haven’t used Quora in a while… ApologiesPlease REPOST and be a bit more specific on the Make/Model of the phone, and SW Version, if possible.*** If you are using an iPhone, it is very unlikely that any kind of ‘App’ has been installed without your knowledge.HOWEVER - it is NOT IMPOSSIBLE, if you were away from the device, and someone ‘Technically inclined’ had a bit of time [to Jailbreak] without you being nearby/ aware.Again, this is also why the phone model and SW version of device are relevant. Please post whether Apple or Android.Expand, by providing the phone model (iPhone 6+, Galaxy S5, LG G30, etc.)If possible ^ In SETTINGS> ABOUT> see what Software/Android Version or ‘Software Build’ you are on.Check to see if your phone has a REMOVABLE SD Card.. (usually either behind battery, or just along the side of phone, or bevel. Is it an SD Card YOU put in there (!??)Man, really just need any info ... soon as you can. (!!!!!)- We’ll make-sure you don’t have any ‘Shadow-apps/processes’ running w/o knowing. If I JUST KNEW whether you use iOS/Android - I could walk-you-through checking.Post some info if you still need definitive answer; I’m not working currently. BORED. lolHopefully SOMETHING there was helpful. ☝I’ve rambled terribly.. :pThank You.

Why is there a small black mark on every photo I take on my iPhone?

All those who have said it is on the lens, either inside or outside, are wrong. Anything on the lens would become nothing but a fuzzy blob in the picture, and most likely nearly unnoticeable. Whatever it is, it is on the sensor. It is simply too sharply defined to be anywhere else. You could try dislodging it by rapping the phone's edge on a hard surface a few times (holding the camera perpendicular to the surface). If this doesn't work, take the phone back to the store and ask that it be replaced. If they are unwilling to do so, do as others have recommended and use software to get rid of it. If you are not enlarging your pictures sufficiently for it to be noticed, I recommend you just live with it.Attempting to dismantle the camera portion of the phone to clean this speck off the sensor is almost certainly a waste of time, even for a professional repair shop. The reason I say this is that you are more likely to end up with even more tiny (or maybe not so tiny) specs in your pictures, unless the work is done in a class 3 or better (regardless of which standard) clean room.

How to make iPhone 5s camera quality better?

Can you please give me tips on how to improve my camera quality on my iPhone 5s. I want to improve the picture and video quality? ( also any tips on improving the microphone quality along with the zoom) thanks

How do I delete those trash in "others" of my iPhone without jailbreaking it?

The "others" usually consists of temporary application data that has not been cleared and the occasional ad-on for an application. The best way to properly clear this is to do an iCloud backup, wipe the iPhone and restore from the backup. You also could do a simple wipe, sync your via iTunes. You'll notice that when you're running out of space on your iPhone, the device will clear extra files. An example of this is the game Gravity Guy and it's retina graphics package. Once you near 0mb of free storage, the iPhone will automatically delete the additional retina graphics. My guess is that the retina graphics count as "other". Application logs and settings may also fill this space.I guess because of the way multi-tasking, background services and instant on works, the iPhone will have a larger "temp/others" allocation on it's storage. Be warned that by clearing this applications may startup the first few times slower.

Is there a way to do a Photoshop-like edit on iPhoto to this picture to remove someone in the background?

There's a random dude in the background of a photo of me and two friends, and though we have nothing against him, we would like to edit him out of the shot. It's not possible to crop him out without cutting off half of my friend's head. I don't have Photoshop or Aperture installed on the laptop I'm now using up at school (I'm in college), so I'm hoping to find a way to do the edit on iPhoto. If you know of any techniques to do this, please let me know. I'd also be open to suggestions for user-friendly photo-editing software programs that are inexpensive as an alternative to iPhoto, Photoshop, and Aperture.

How can I remove these black borders from the left and right side of my video?

How exactly you do this will depend on the video editing software you have available, but basically you're going to create a new project with an HD frame, then import the video and zoom into the video until it fills the frame. The action stays enough within the center of the frame that (I think) you should be able to do this without a problem. You will lose quality this way, but there's no way to avoid that.If you have After Effects or Premiere Pro available, you might want to try using one or the other of those so you can attempt to run stabilization (either warp or the older tracking version) on it as well.I would also second what Mike says: in the future, hold your phone sideways to avoid shooting in "tallscreen".
