How To Get Someone A Job In America Or Canada If They Are In The Technical Field And Have A Lot Of

If someone has a computer science degree and they don't want a programming job, is their degree pointless?

No, I'm currently doing CS but I don't want to become a software engineer. It can give you a good foundation for a job in tech management (product/project mgmt). A lot of times, it is also usually nice because you understand how stuff works even though you are not a programmer. You can also work in finance, where you create financial algorithms and are good at it because you understand their applications by a computer.

Bottom line, it is not pointless. It teaches you how to think a algorithmically and is a good foundation for working in fields that specialize in tech.

If all else fails, try working a programming job for a while. The pay is really good and if you get a promotion, you don't have to work as a programmer, you manage programmers and what they do.

Are American degrees recognized in canada?

Hi, there's actually two points here. First, will your degrees be recognized. Yes they will, no problem about that at all. But the second point is professional certification. That is another matter. Both social work and engineering are organized and licensed on a provincial not national basis in the Canada. So you would have to check out the licensing bodies in the province you think you want to live and work in and see how they handle the licensing of persons with foreign credentials. For one thing the whole legal regime surrounding the practise of your professions is different in Canada and you would probably have to take some courses to ramp up on that. Good luck.

What are some good fields in Information Technology ?

Master the use of each software you encounter.
Establish certifications; especially non-online trainings for certs'.
Consider Linux as something else that you need to know.
Stay abreast of current hardware besides which software is compatible with what.
Get VM Ware.

You are on the right track as one really needs a subspecialty eventually. That can be some alternative talent/ interest; such as aviation IT or Real Estate IT or etc.

What are the job opportunities for an immigrant in Canada?

Civil engineering programs in some countries are truly pathetic. And most graduates from such countries are 1. not going to get into Canadian grad schools, and 2. not going to do well in Canadian grad schools because their undergrad education is so poor. Therefore, 3. not going to have an easy time finding work in Canada.

Furthermore, even for someone well qualified, Canada law requires that employers first prove there are no Canadians qualified & available for the job. Considering that Canada has good engineers among its citizens and approved immigrants legally qualified to work in Canada, and considering the high costs in time, money, and general hassle of obtaining employment visas, Canadian employers are becoming ever more reluctant to apply for any employment visa. Many now state in their ads when positions are open that all applicants must be qualified for employment in Canada - these employers will not even consider applications from non-citizens who need employment visas.

Canada is a small country. It accepts far too many immigrants for its small size - far more than the economy can absorb. Lots of new immigrants are complaining that they cannot find work in Canada after many months of active job searches. This is true for the highly educated and qualified immigrants as well as those just looking for entry-level or low-level jobs. So not only is it very tough for foreign workers to get temporary employment visas, even legal immigrants with authorization to work cannot find jobs there.

Worldwide labor glut is about a billion people - a billion more adults who are looking for work than there are jobs for them. World labor markets are super-saturated. Too many people.

What jobs will give you lots of money ?

I hear that Google treats them employers good. They have a whole cafetiria full of restaurants that give you free food. Also they have a gym, swimming pool, badminton, etc. They pay well. Although, I really should'nt be telling you this. I want to be employed there, but I don't know if I could ever get in. Lol I heard that they get 100s to thousands to hundreds of thousands applications. Keep your head up. If you want to make a lot of money, the tech jobs are in demand. Jobs such as web designers, computer analysts, network security, and even those in the medical field make good money. Now if you want to travel you might want to find a job in the government. The government usually pays well but you have to have a clearance and good history. But I would check into the technical or medical field, those two are in great demand. Also, Disney is probably hard to get into as well. And they might not even need to hire. well, if you're a doctor you could go on medical missions, although i'm not sure how much that would pay, i think thats more service work than getting paid a lot to sit in a nice white clinic with nurses at your beck and call. also a consultant--more businessy, but they make a LOT of money and have to travel for work. so they get a card for business that they can charge off on their hotels and meals. it's a pretty nice life.
