In all of world history, who was the most powerful person for their time?

Genghiz Khan could be an obvious answer. He built the world's largest contiguous empire. However, one non-obvious answer you might not know is Emperor Ashoka. I have also considered other strong contenders such as Queen Victoria, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Alexander the Great and Qin Shi Huang of China. I could easily pick any of those 4. Since they are usually well known, I pick Ashoka.I don't consider power purely through hard power (the power to murder & intimidate people) but also the soft power (the power to influence and get the best out of people). Ashoka was miles ahead on this metric than any other contender. Even in hard power, he was no pushover. While Khan's empire of 11 million sq km is twice Ashoka's, most of the Genghiz Khan's territory was unmanned grasslands. Ashoka ruled over 44% of the world population with close to a half of world GDP of his time. While Genghiz Khan hardly had the time to rule any of the territories he captured, Ashoka happily ruled for close to half-a-century.Besides leading in economy and number of subjects ruled, Ashoka also took a little known cult of Buddhism and turned it into world's fourth biggest faith. Ashoka's actions directly impacted more than three-quarters of the known world of his time - from Japan to Afghanistan. Asia was suddenly connected by this new faith and also pacified a lot. Unlike Genghiz Khan, Ashoka quickly realized the folly of violence and impacted a big deal with his culture. For such a huge conquerer, there is hardly any evidence of complaint in any of the cultures he impacted. Even today, he is celebrated across Asia after 2300 years. After 2300 years, the pillars of truth he left all over the subcontinent are still intact.

What software is typically used to make CGI movies?

I have been working in the industry close to a year, as of 2017 the primary layout used (most commonly) is as follows,Blender— for rough modeling and sculpting, export as an object (.obj) where it is then sent toMaya—Refining and displacement. then the same .obj is transferred toMudbox—For super realistic textures and bump maps. After effects—Composite the finished .obj into the video file. *NOTE: THIS STEP IS DONE BEFORE COLOR CORECTION. ESPECIALLY WITH .R3D FILES FROM RED.* Color correction and keying is done here as well.Adobe Audition—Syncing audio with video and mastering in a 7.1 channel system .WAV editor.Premier Pro—Physical clip editing and splicing, audio synchronization and refining.Adobe media encoder—Encoding the finished product. H.264 at default compression and highest color bitrate setting for Windows systems and standard DVD. H.265 (HEVC) set at default compression and super high bitrate for Blu-Ray and 4K HDR or up to 8K video encoding. This is the general layout of some major film companies. ON A BUDGET> You CAN achieve cinematic quality CGI using the latest update of Blender. But to do it you need a computer that’s pretty much unaffordable to most. (mine has 14TB Memory, 128GB RAM, 750 Cores of processor and 40 GPU processors custom build that ran about $20K, even this can barely handle it when it can handle 8K RED files effortlessly) So… Now that the layout of pro studios is available publically, if you have a computer that can handle the files, has the memory, and RAM and power, have access to RED, ARRI Alexa, or otherwise professional cameras, you can make Hollywood quality films. Assuming you can afford it. (To this day, film companies prefer RED or ARRI Alexa) MOST independent companies use this same setup but film in either 4K or 1080p on BlackMagic. I hope this brief description helps! Happy Filming!

Who owns mainstream news stations like CNN, and Fox News?

Most mainstream news stations are owned by a handful of holding companies and media conglomerates. The phenomenon is called media consolidation and it is a serious concern over the past few decades as many local publishers and papers are being bought out, cannibalized, or pushed out of business. Here are the owners of the main stations in order of size. Through the links you’ll find the asset pages which show other properties and brands they own.Largest –– NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, and Telemundo are under NBC Universal and owned by Comcast, America’s most hated company.ABC is owned by The Walt Disney Corporation. They also own ESPN, Marvel, Disney Studios, and A&E networks.CNN is owned by Turner Broadcasting which is owned by Time Warner. They also own HBO and Warner Brothers.Fox News is under 21st Century Fox (renamed from News Corp) and controlled by Rupert Murdoch. They also own Sky News and National Geographic Partners.CBS is owned by the CBS Corporation but the majority control is owned by National Amusements under owner billionaire Sumner Redstone. Previously, CBS was known as Viacom. Viacom still exists, but it’s a whole ‘nother thing. You’ll also find that a lot of digital news providers are under umbrella groups as well. For example, Univision owns the Gizmodo network, 21st Century Fox owns Yardbarker, Time Warner owns Bleacher Report, etc.

How much RAM (8GB or 16 GB or 32GB) is required in a laptop for video editing and rendering?

First of all DON'T, I repeat don't do Video editing or rendering on a LAPTOP. Laptop is a really poor choice for this kind of serious stuff. Let me get into the details here. First of all video editing needs some serious raw power. You need a ultra CPU, GPU, RAM and most of all you need is VERY EFFICIENT COOLING MECHANISM for all these parts. Since, Video editing is really heavy stuff, your system temperature will get high, quite high.Considering above things, on a Laptop, you get ULV CPU a Mobile GPU and Crap cooling system. Compare these to Desktop CPU, GPU and Cooling System, Laptop components are pretty much underpowered. Laptop cooling system is a joke, when you can get liquid cooling on Desktop. (You may cook your Laptop.) Plus they even cost more. Then again, you can't even upgrade your laptop. So for Video Editing stuff, I'd suggest, please go for desktop. So on the main question, sure more RAM is always better. But as long as you have a high end CPU and superb GPU; 8Gb is fine. 16 Gb is ideal and recommended. And 32Gb is OMG.
