How To Get The Payment Of Sardar Sarovar Bound

Why didn’t the Isha Sadhguru Foundation stand for “Narmada Bachao Andolan”, but instead they ran their own campaign, "Rally for River"?

Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) is a social movement consisting of adivasis, farmers, environmentalists and human rights activists against the number of large dams being built across the Narmada River, which flows through the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, all over India.Sardar Sarovar Dam in Gujarat is one of the biggest dams on the river and was one of the first focal points of the movement. It is one of the many dams under the Narmada Dam Project. The main aim of the project is to provide irrigation and electricity to people in these states. This social movement covers only the three states of Gujurat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra concerning only Narmada Riverwhereas“Rally for Rivers” is a nationwide awareness campaign to rejuvenate our rivers and preserve it from dying. This movement demands a policy and enforcement of law to all the 29 states and 7 Union Territories in India. This rally is concerned about all the rivers in IndiaRiver GangaRiver NarmadaRiver CauveryRiver GodavariRiver Yamuna and many more. This can only be achieved a great success only with the concurrence of both Central and other State governments. As India is a democratic country, people should voice out their opinion and support the movement to enforce the law.Giving a missed call to +91 80009 80009 will act as a people vote to tell the government that the people of India are concerned about the rivers of India and how to save it from all sort of man-made disaster ( sewage water intrusion in rivers, industrial pollution, sand mining etc)If you want to know how does a missed call help in rejuvenating the rivers please read: Hari Prasanth's answer to How does a missed call save rivers? What is the prime Moto for giving a missed call for the Rally For Rivers campaign?Hope this helps!!Save Rivers! Save soil !! Save farmers!!! Save India!!!!

Why is a Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue being built instead of a statue of Mahatma Gandhi?

There is no comparison that could be made between the leaders who had given their contribution during Independence era and there is no fixed, standard answer for this question because even every individual has its own perspective of understanding and answering the question. Each leader had his own experience, leadership and dominance over the opposition, but the most known and most famous personality on the basis of the history textbooks has given emphasize on Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru.Famous question which are being asked till date:Who is father of Nation?Who is the first Prime Minister of Independent India?Even at the time of Independence era, the most challenging task was to Integrate the princely states and which was carried out very successfully by Sardar Patel. Now somewhere, at some point of time Sardar Patel’s image is still unknown and he is known just for the question Who is the iron man of India? The statue is to glorify the image of Sardar Patel on the basis of his views, contribution for the unity of the country.People will always be there to point out the fault in each and every things whether it is marriage function, apparels or any other things. So how can we expect that every one will on same page regarding the “Statue of Unity”.What if Mahatma Gandhiji’s tallest statue were built instead of Sardar Patel’s status? Then the question will arise, why not the statue of Jawaharlal Nehu. What if Jawaharlal Nehru’s tallest Statue were built instead of Sardar Patel’s status? Then the question will arise, why not the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Why couldn’t we utilise this huge amount in Education, Hospitals or etc.?and some question may be like this:Can’t this statue be the 8th Wonder of the World? Can’t this statue gain more tourist attraction from the world? So only thing I want to point out is that this topic will be of huge debate and will be an always asked-type question, because answer will vary with the every individuals point of view.Analyse things by yourself, analyse its advantages and disadvantages rather than simply following and believing others viewpoint.

Do You Know: Sailendranath Ghosal Shastri?

"Mr. Sailendra Narayan Ghoshal who was the director of the Vedic Reasearch Institute, wrote this book in eight volumes. The first six volumes are published and the other two remained unpublished due to a clash between his two sons who had the publication right. The author died in 1987. I have read six volumes of this book. I was stunned to observe that this should be the best book to reveal the utmost secrets of Hindu religion, the solution of all the mysteries hidden in the Vedas, the accurate meaning of the shlokas of Veda. During the author's visit to Narmada river he met with some best minds who had the true knowledge of divine existence. He learned from them the methods by which a man can obtain the infinite powers if he realized his soul. This book is supposed to be the Encyclopaedia of Yoga. Yoga means addition. It never means physical exercises of any form popularized today. You will be able to learn what true Yoga is. I have read the whole work of Swami Vivekananda many other religious scripts. But they never revealed the secrets and thus made the Hindu religion a matter of belief and not a practical knowledege like science which can be verified at any time at any place. Tapobhumi Narmada reveals everything."

Why do the Narmada and Tapti rivers in India flow towards the West, while others flow towards the East?

There are three main reasons:1. Gradient of the terrain2. Presence of rift valleys3. Mountain ranges which deflect rivers.West-bound rivers:1. Narmada: It originates from Mount Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh. As it flows down the hill, it is trapped in a rift valley between the Vindhya and the Satpura muntain ranges which leads it to the west towards Gujarat, were it drains into the Gulf of Khambat.Narmada River2. Tapti: It rises in the Satpura mountain range and is also trapped in a rift valley (don't remember the name).East-bound rivers:1. Ganga-Yamuna: They rise in the Himalayas, come down the mountains and turn east when they encounter the rocky terrain of the Aravallis and the Chota Nagpur Plateau.2. Godavari, Krishna, Kaveri: All originate in or near the eastern side of the Western Ghats. As rivers cannot climb up, they flow towards east, into the Bay of Bengal.

What are the constraints for the river interlinking In india?

Inter-River Linking (IRL) is a beautiful concept, but there are some constraints like:Environmental costs (deforestation, soil- erosion, etc.)Rehabilitation: not an easy taskSocial unrest/Psychological damage due to forced resettlement of local people (for example, Sardar Sarovar Project)Political effects: strained relationship with neighbors (Pakistan, Bangladesh)IRL Project involves multifaceted issues and challenges related to economic, ecological, and social costs. On this note, Iyer (2003) very sharply states that “We have had great difficulty in completing even a single project successfully and we want to embark on thirty massive projects at the same time.”IRL project has caused much anger and protest in our neighboring nation, Bangladesh. It is grappled with fear that diversion of water from the Brahmaputra and the Ganges, which provide 85% of the country’s fresh water flow in the dry season, would result into an ecological disaster. The rehabilitation of project-affected people in water infrastructure projects will also pose a burning question before the concerned authorities.Transfer of water is bound to be unacceptable as no state is likely to transfer water to another foregoing possible future use of such water. Domestic and regional geo-politics play a pivotal role on the discussions on ILR. As of now, there is no mechanism as of now to deal with matters concerning interbasin transfers.Hope this answers your question.Source: Iyer, Ramaswamy R. Water: Perspectives, issues, concerns.
