How To Get To Know Everyone At Camp

How to make friends at summer camp?

Hey, next week I'm going to a six week camp at a college close to home. (Everyone stays overnight during the week but has to go home each weekend.) I've been to summer camp before and it's been alright because every time I was friends with at least a couple of kids going there. But, this summer I am going to a new camp and I don't have any friends there. I do know a couple of kids who will be going to the camp but I'm not friends with them. (They're the stuck-up, "popular" kids at my school who don't like unpopular kids like me) Anyways, I'm really worried that I won't be able to make any friends at camp. I'm not very outgoing and get nervous when I meet new people. When I talk to the new people I usually say all the wrong things and make jokes that don't make any sense, just because I'm nervous. Do you have any advice for me to try to make friends when I go to this camp? Any help would be appreciated!

Does everyone who joins the military have to go through bootcamp?

no. everyone does NOT have to go through. there are some direct commission options where you pretty much just get a haircut and put on the uniform. one example of this are marine band officers, and some medical specialties in the other branches.
other than that though, everyone is going to go through some form of 'boot camp'

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton?

Hey everyone! Just out of curiousity....my hubby might be getting stationed at Pendleton...we have been at Lejeune up until now but he is planning on re-enlisting and wants to be stationed on the west coast. I would love to stay in NC but a change of scenery might do us some good and i just follow orders haha and im not even sure what the chances are that he will get his first choice for PDS. Any Marines or wives living there right now? Whats the housing like? Ive heard the town is really far off base and its a pain to drive around....just trying to get some first hand info until i get word on where we will be moving to...thanks in advance :)

How to look pretty at camp?

well, its hard to look pretty at camp but if you want to pick up guys, just wear lower shirts and short shorts. they will be all over you ;).french braiding your hair will look really cute. its hard to do yourself but its a fun camp activity to do. don't go overboard on the makeup. you're at camp so maybe just keep on some eyeliner (i like Revlon color stay, not the pencil kind) be careful with the eyeliner because it could melt if it gets too hot. maybe a little mascara (waterproof if you are sweating). after you take a shower, scrunch your hair. you towel dry it a little and put in some mousse. then, put some gel in your hand, flip your head upside down and ball your hand into a fist while pushing upward on your hair. if you have long hair, put it in a couple of messy buns while you get dressed and let it dry a little. then, take it down and it will be curly and cute, but super easy.

Is it possible to go camping in Kerala? I want to get my own tent and camp wherever.

Hello,Nice to see more and more people choosing sustainable tourism like camping. There’s plenty of places to camp at in Kerala although the recent Theni fire has caused some forests to close trekking and camping in sensitive areas. There’s hundreds of campsites you can choose from at www.campmonk.com and you can take your own tent too. Look for BYOT - Bring your own tent.Hope that helps. Cheers.

How can I get rid of my 'gay' 'camp' voice?

Be yourself. F anybody too ignorant to handle it.

My son will start his UX designer boot camp in General Assembly in Chicago. What’s your opinion on General Assembly and their UX designer boot camp program?

Hi,I’m Charles, I work on the content team at Flatiron School. First, congrats to your son for starting a UX/UI design career. I can’t speak to General Assembly’s success, but let’s discuss the qualities a good bootcamp needs to have.I’m a bit biased working at Flatiron School where we have an immersive UX/UI Design program in Chicago, London, New York, Seattle, and Austin. Our program is powered by Designation, the leader in UX/UI education, and offers the most comprehensive design experience around.Remember, the General Assembly UX Designer program is preparing students on a specific set of skills. If you don’t have a design background, or are switching careers, you may want a more well-rounded design education to stand out from the crowd.Youll need a clear understanding of what you want from the program. You also need to be certain that you want to be a UX designer or gain those skills. At 24 weeks, Flatiron School’s immersive UX/UI Design program is a longer commitment than General Assembly’s 10-week course. But, that time helps ensure students become quality designers. We break up the program into two 12-week phases.Students learn online for the first 12 weeks and then join their cohort on-campus for team-based design, client projects, and career support. We teach Design Essentials first so students understand the whole design process from the user experience (UX) phase to user interface (UI) phase. They’ll also work with a real client to help solve their design problem. We also have a dedicated Career Services working with students to start their design career. Career Coaches work 1:1 with students to get the job they want. Students work on their resume, build their portfolio, and participate in mock interviews. Our courses are also covered by a Tuition-Back Guarantee (see details). After you enroll and successfully complete your program at Flatiron School, we’ll help you with your job search, and if you don’t get a job within six months from the beginning of your search — assuming you follow the standards outlined below — we will give you your tuition back. Your success is our success.Good luck to your son!
