Is there any game similar to War of the Vikings, which has shutdown, with a realistic medieval hand-to-hand combat?
Yes! I know of 3 that you may like.Reign of Kings:Similar to the game Rust, RoK is a multiplayer survival game. You start with a wood stave and must create better gear, build your own castle, and fight other players. With a wide assortment of different accurate medieval melee and ranged weapons, each with multiple different attacks, you will fight your way up to eventually take the King’s Tower. Every server has a constantly changing king who, while in power, gets a percent of everyone in the games resources as a sort of tax.Chivalry Medieval warfare:One of my favorite games, Chivalry is more of your standard team based multiplayer game. With 4 distinct classes and 10+ weapons in each you’ll find you favorite playstyle in no time at all. Modded servers are an added bonus.Mordhau:The newest of the three, I haven’t personally played mordhau. From videos I’ve watched I can tell you the character customization is phenomenal, the combat is extremely realistic, and the battles feel fluid. Mordhau does everything bad in a way that makes it feel like you’re really fighting. What video game is good for relieving stress?
I am a gamer. I lose myself in gaming. Depending on what’s going on at the time determines which game I will play. If I’m looking for mindless drivel, I play Candy Crush (Saga, Soda or Jelly). It allows me to simply zone out, but more importantly, it shuts my racing mind off. When I’m frustrated, I play an MMO, Vikings War of Clans. I am the head of a clan of people located throughout the world. We attack people in other kingdoms (and even some in our own kingdom when we want to raise some heck). It allows me to take on this other personna, one who is evil and blood thirsty, lol. Totally unlike the day-to-day me. I become a warrior! In MMO’s you have the benefit of getting to know people all over the world. When you feel disenfranchised, this is a wonderful aid to healing.I like video gaming.
Do guys like it when girls play video games?
I can’t speak for all guys but, as someone for whom playing video games is a main hobby, I have to say that I think any girl who plays video games (I’m thinking either on the PC or on a console) is just awesome.For me, it’s because I grew up in a country where video games were made out to be a guy thing, so no girl I ever met bothered to play. I also happen to now live in a country in which the culture seems to look down on stay-at-home activities like video games. Apart from online, I’ve never met a girl/woman who plays video games as a hobby.I personally would like to know more female gamers (really more gamers in general) because:It provides a great conversation topic. I met all my oldest and best friends by playing video games together. I can talk games with my brother for hours. It would be refreshing to have such conversation with a girl.After reading the above, it occurs to me that seeing/meeting more female gamers would break this childhood stereotype I have that most girls /women hate video games.Personally, I think video games are very beneficial; they inspire the imagination, as well as curiosity. They can serve as a confidence boost, and they engage the mind to think strategically, as well as build innovation. Anyone who feels the same way about video games is a quality person in my book.In the end though, video games are just another hobby, like reading, watching TV, gardening and so on. Just replace “video games” in your question with any other hobby you can think of and you’ll understand how a gamer feels to meet someone who likes the same things they do. It’s always great to meet someone who shares your hobby. At the same time, like any other hobby, not everyone will see what you see in it. And that’s okay.P.S. The N64 was a gem of a console. Mario 64, Mario Kart, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and many other games make me smile when I remember them.
Samurai versus viking?
Who do you think would win? I know they already did a "Deadliest Warrior" on this, but it doesn't take into account the individual fighter, and computer programs don't have the senses of a person. I say samurai because... a) agility b) precision attacks c) skill level is extremely high as far as the individual fighter goes...there was a famous samurai, Miyamoto Musashi, who founded a fighting style where one would wield two swords, one long, and one "companion" sword (which was shorter in length). Personally, I think any viking who came up to a samurai using this fighting style would get pretty messed up. Please explain to me if/how I'm wrong about this but...weren't the vikings raiders? Being raiders they had the element of surprise (extremely important in combat), but in a fight they wouldn't. Plus, pillaging villages? I don't remember ever hearing stories of ANY good fighters from villages, seeing as villages didn't even have an army... So, please tell me who you think would win AND WHY!!
