Madurai- Ramanthapuram- Pampan bridge- Rameshwaram. Entry fee to Rameshwaram Municipality 100Rs/car.Mobile phones- Camera- Cigarette- lighters- Bags not allowed inside Ramanthaswamy temple. Parking facility is available 200–300m away from Temple.Rameshwaram- Dhanushkodi- 19 km- Can go upto Dhanushkodi beach in own car (police sometimes wont allow to go beyond Dhanushkodi beach in own vehicle)

I am planning a tour from Bangalore to Kanyakumari-Madurai-Rameshwaram. How can I plan this trip? Where can I go first and which places I have to see?

Since you are in Bangalore, it will be very easy for you to conduct this trip using trains. Make a circular ticket, it will lower down your transportation cost to a huge level.Regarding the places to see.....you ll find plenty of information in internet. Look for the state run tourist packages. They offer some good packages within reasonable charges. From Madurai you can visit Kodaikanal sparing one day. In Rameswaram there are lot many to see. Give a separate visit to Pamban bridge and Dhanushkodi. Look for the local sailors who can take you to the mid of the sea using their boats. You must also see the grand corridor inside the rameswaram temple.

How do I visit Kanyakumari from Bangalore?

Go a head with train it will be cheap and best,Actually I’m from Kanyakumari ,I used to go by train from bangalore cantonment (5.20PM) and u can reach around 08.00 AM at nagercoil station from there its only 40mints travel ,For Sleeper reservation train costing will be 355Rs,train#17236/Nagercoil ExpKanyakumari having lot of good places to visit ,don't go to normal kanyakumari beach ,I will list some beaches and nice places to visit,Mutton beachKovalam beachSothavilai beachKolachel beachHanging bridge thottipaalammanakkudi kaayal ( sea and river joining place)vattakottai beachTirparappu fallsNote — Don’t take room near to Kanyakurmai beach they will charge more ,take room 6KM away from there normal charges will be 500 Rs to 700Rs ,taste all local foods,Cheers
