How To Hide My Wireless

How do you connect wii to wireless internet which is hidden?

i want to connect my nintendo wii to the internet, however my wireless router is on hidden so the wii doesn't pick it up. I have tried doing it manually, entering the IP address etc, but it still didn't work.
When entering the IP address it wanted it in the form xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, but my IP address is in the form xx.x.x.xxx, it automatically made up for the lack of characters by putting in 0's, could this be the reason?
Also it asked for my primary and secondary DSN or DNS (sorry i cant remember the order of the letters) code, what is this? How do i find it on the computer? I'm using XP.
Or could the problem be that the signal doesn't reach, the wii is quite a way from the router, but the laptop picks up the signal OK from the same room.

How do I hide my wireless network name (SSID) in OSX?

Well, OS X isn't the component broadcasting the SSID, that's the wireless access point -- there's nothing to do in OS X. Follow the vendor's instructions for the wireless access point on how to disable SSID broadcast on your router. You can hide the wireless icon in the menu bar, if you like, by going to Network Preferences and unchecking the "Show network status in menu bar" option.Mind you, everyone will know the moment that they see you using the network without a cable. Also keep in mind that most employers will not forgive you for this, they will generally terminate your employment. Further, if anyone gains access to the network, you'll probably become personally liable for any damage that results. In some states, you might also be charged with a crime and face prosecution and jail time (in certain circumstances, it can be a federal crime too). It's definitely wiser to ask permission than forgiveness. Risking your job, retirement, and possibly jail time for a personal convenience does not seem prudent.

Is there a way to hide Mac address from a wifi network?

Yes, you can. If you don’t connect to a network - it won’t see your Mac Address.Okay, in all seriousness - you can’t. Mac Addresses are as essential to networking as IP addresses are. There is no way to identify your device if you remove the mac address. Which means that you will not get an IP and you will not be able to communicate with other devices on the network and connect to the internet. Now, if you are worried about people seeing your device on a public network. That’s understandable and there is an app for that. So-to-speak, anyway. Most public networks employ AP isolation. Which means Device A cannot see Device B on a network. But the router and switches can see everything. This is what a guest network does.Of course, you cannot print or share files in such a network, but if you are worried about other devices seeing you then that’s provably not a thing anyway. Hope that helps!

How do you hide a iphone's SSID?

Hiding the SSID of a Wi-Fi hotspot is a useful feature, but the option is not present on all access points—especially mobile phones, which generate too many support inquiries. Manufacturers try hard to reduce the complexity of the user interface…Look closely at the Wi-Fi user setting. If you don’t see the option “hidden” next to the entry field for your SSID, then the feature is not offered by your OS—at least not with your current version. You could probably add the feature to a rooted phone by downloading some alternative OS build. But the SSID-hiding feature is not really needed (That is, unless you wish to create a hotspot where it is not allowed, such as when taking a college entrance exam).Instead of hiding your SSID, simply choose a good password: One that is longer than 10 characters, and with non-repeating numbers, symbols, and both upper & lower case characters. Of course, it goes without saying that the character string or pass-phrase should have no relationship to your interests that might help a hacker who knows you or knows about things that intersect with your life.Incidentally, on a residential router, you can further increase security by limiting connections to the specific hardware MAC addresses of each authorized device. But, just like a hidden SSID, this feature is also unlikely to be available on your mobile phone.
