Hiding meals is easy if you can pull off being convincing!

*You can easily chew your food and spit it into a non-clear cup or napkin.
*You can say you don't feel very well and ask them to wrap it up for you to eat later, -then dispose of it.
*Say you have to study or something or you're tired and ask to eat in your room then throw it away.
*If its finger food, keep a plastic baggie in your pocket and sneak the food inside of it during the meal when they aren*t looking.

I can go on and on and on and on about the absolutely TERRIBLE aftermath of skipping meals. I've been there and I am still there (!) right now. I've been skipping meals since I was 15 years old, and I thought I was so smart and so strong by doing this, like I COULD and all those miserable people couldn't be as strong as me and overcome the hunger. But this did not last for long. Even if at the time you feel great, you feel like you are in control of the situation - but there will come a day and you will you WILL overeat and this will turn into a binge, and you will feel so guilty and so horrible afterwards! This is what has been happening to me, and I still can't get out of this never-ending cycle of bingeing-starving myself, this is not a good lifestyle, and I would not wish this to anyone. I really regret that I was so stupid and didn't want to listen to all the wise people who warned me about the consequences. I am 19 now and I just entered my 1st year of University, and guess what? My program is Applied Human Nutrition, because I sincerely want to learn about healthy eating so I can help myself and help all the people around me, so they don't end up in the same boat as me !!! I don't know, whatever your reasons are to decide to skip meals, please think again about this. And even if you don't want to read this, I really hope that someone else on this website will, and that my advise will be helpful to at least one soul!

Which is better jogging or skipping meals?

Answer is quite simple my friend.It may be true that skipping two chapattis and jogging tend to give the same result in terms if calories, but you are smart enough to see the difference in effects laid by skipping chapattis and jogging. A 15-minute jogging routine is difficult to get used to but once you are in it completely, it becomes difficult to let it go. Jogging refreshes your lungs, gives you mental and physical strength and provides your body with a durability. While giving up on your food makes you dull and incompetent.You can not loose weight by skipping your meals regularly because it will, as I have already told you, make you dull and incompetent. But you can jog daily, whenever and wherever you want.If you somehow loose your weight and get skinny by skipping the meals( which I am sure is  impossible), you can not maintain it, because you can not keep on skipping your meals for the rest of your life. But you can take a 15-min jog for the rest of your life.The body developed by dieting is temporary, so I am sure you will start feeling a difference as soon as you stop dieting.

What are the signs of an eating disorder?

I agree with Jonathan but many of the symptoms he mentions are going on inside of the eating disordered persons mind and you do not have a way of knowing what they are thinking. As the Mom of a daughter with an eating disorder (anorexia) the first signs I noticed were:Weight lossBrittle/splitting finger nailsWhite spots on teethWearing a hoodie because she was cold all the timeComplaining about being cold/ or the air conditioning being on when weather was hotDrinking excessive amounts of waterEating less at family meal timeSuddenly didn’t like foods she had always lovedExtreme fatigue (she was up exercising all night)Hair lossLack of energyClogged up garbage disposal with food she was “hiding”Suddenly became vegetarian then veganBegan looking at food labels in the grocery storeThe major sign for us was when she went into cardiac distress during practice with her sports team.For bulimics I would add going to the bathroom or taking a shower immediately following a meal.Some people with eating disorders leave “clues.”  Look for hidden food indrawers in bedrooms or plastic bags or other containers with purged food hidden in bedroom closets, under beds, etc.  If you suspect that someone you know has an eating disorder seek help rightaway.  Please keep in mind that a person does not have to look like askeleton to have an eating disorder. My daughter is very athletic and waseating 5 strawberries a day and exercising 8-10 hours every day.  Shestill looked semi muscular and healthy when she was admitted to thetreatment program.

How can you skip meals without wasting food or your family figuring out?

Eat it!Seriously, just eat it.There was once a time in my life where I did not eat nothing but a bowl of rice three times every week. My family lived in Kenya and we were as poor as can be.My mom would take us to sleep as my siblings and I cried almost every night because of how hungry we were.She would than proceed to cry herself to sleep because she had no means of taking care of us.We would wake up hungry and go to sleep hungry. What little food my mom got would be eaten quickly. We were young and complained all the time about this pain that we did not fully understand. And of course my mother felt an even deeper pain.Than we moved to the U.S and things turned around for the better. It's been 10 years and I can honestly say there hasn't been a day I've felt like I would die from lack of food. I was very very lucky. Most of my relatives are still struggling even with my mom giving them financial aid.Imagine my surprise when I saw people throw in out so much food because it wasn't to there liking or they were full. I was unable to comprehend how anyone could do that. But now I sometimes do it myself.I’m not sure why you don't want to eat but please don't waste it and if your doing this in hopes of losing weight it will be difficult and not worth it at all.Instead decide to make your own healthy breakfast and diner and add some exercise to your daily schecule. That would much easier and healthier in both short and long term.Food is a gift, there are many people out there who would do anything for what you have.It pains my heart that are people who are starving to death everyday and than yet so many people that disregard the gift that many do not have.If your having any sort of body image problems please talk to someone the sooner you do, the better you will get.I hope you come to love yourself and appreciate what you have!!

How to skip dinner without parents noticing?

I want to lose about ten pounds and that would mean skipping dinner. The only problem is that my parents MAKE me eat everything on my plate! I can't leave the table or do anything until I've finished! We usually eat fast food a lot so it really sucks! :( Sometimes I just don't want to eat. Not because of weight or anything, I'm just not hungry. Since I want to lose weight, I was going to skip breakfast, lunch and try dinner :\ my parents say I'm not fat but I look like I am. I'm 13 (I'm a girl) 4'11" and 92 pounds. I have a 25" waist and I want a 22" waist. I want to be 80 pounds and hopefully I will grow a few inches. Please help! Don't say I'm stupid for wanting to do this because I know I am but I just want to be skinny.
