How To Hyper Extend Your Needle

Is there a such medical term called hypo extend?

Depends, are you stepping out onto the roof? If so, you will need to have sufficient ladder to hold onto while stepping.

If all you're doing is reaching the eaves, you just need enough to provide a solid landing on the roof edge. I'd never want less than a foot.

Make sure you have a level, solid base, and the recommended 4 to 1 slope on the ladder (roughly 1 ft out for every foot out from the wall, no more, no less)

Is there a such medical term called hypo extend?

No.. not hypo.. it would be Hyperextend unless you curled your arm in such a ball you hypoextended it.. which would be a first i've heard of..

Hyper- or Hypo-?

The prefix hyper- means "above," "beyond," or "excessively."

The prefix hypo- means "under" or "below normal."

Examples: Hypodermic needle (under the dermis)

Hyperactive child (excessively active)

How do I stretch my back to do a needle?

Yes, you need to stretch your back too. This is a needle:Now imagine that you perform the same split on the ground:The back is bent and very much so too.So you could try to assume that position while stretching on the ground with the back leg over a low mattress or pillow. You could perform this under a dance barre so that you can help yourself to reach the final position. This is a quite extreme position for your back and I suppose Allyson Way is saying that your body could be structured in a way that doesn’t allow you to assume it. Just like some people can’t do a frontal split. So try it but only gradually, maybe under the supervision of a coach, and stop when you feel that your vertebrae are clashing and you can’t bent more without hurting yourself.Accept your limits. If you can’t do a needle, it’s not a big deal. There are lots of beautiful skills to learn.

How do you treat a hyperextended elbow?

Pain ReliefThe first form of treatment for a hyperextended elbow, no matter how severe, is to stop the pain. Over-the-counter pain medication like acetaminophen or ibuprofen is usually all that is required. You can take them when the injury first occurs and then during recovery, as needed. If your elbow is swollen, icing the joint can help to both relieve the swelling and also numb the pain. Immobilization of the ElbowIf you have a more severely hyperextended elbow, then you might experience considerable pain when you move your arm and flex your elbow, especially as you straighten the joint. If this is the case, then your doctor might suggest that you immobilize your arm by wearing a sling until the worst of the pain is gone. After you stop using the sling, you can continue the immobilization treatment with a hyperextension tape job, which will prevent your elbow from straightening to the point of causing pain. TherapyAfter the worst of the pain has faded, the next stage of treatment for a hyperextended elbow can begin. Your doctor can show you simple therapy to increase the range of motion you can get from your elbow without feeling pain. You can begin with gentle range-of-motion exercises in your arm. After successfully completing those exercises, you can begin doing resistance training using weights to build the strength in the muscles around your elbow. Time Frame of HealingThe simplest form of treatment for a hyperextended elbow is simply to give the joint time to heal. If you have a very mild injury, then you will not need a sling or therapy. The damage should be healed in a few days, and after this time you will be able to resume your usual activities with no lasting ill effects. More severe injuries will heal in three weeks to a month

Needle stick :( when practicing in my Phlebotomy class, help!!!!!!?

OK :( here goes my story....

We've been drawing out blood in my Phlebotomy class for 3 weeks now. I drew blood from a student (everything went well) then it was her turn to draw blood from me..... when she took out the little plastic from the needle it looked as if she got close to her skin and i asked her "did you poke youself?" she said "no", the teacher "checked her" and she said "proceed", the girl proceeded and drew blood from me,.... I turned to look at her finger and to my surprise SHE WAS BLEEDING.... MEANING THAT SHE DID POKE HERSELF AND PUT THAT NEEDLE IN ME!..... (I freaked out! OBVIOUSLY, i did the stupid mistake of not telling her (even though you didnt poke yourself change the needle!!!!!)))))...... the teacher told me not to be scared, that the girl didnt go deep on her just the tip... (since she wasnt bleeding like right away...... now im gonna go get checked for hep b, c and hiv, to make sure!!!! Even though the girl says she is not infected and will show me her immunization record on wednesday, that doesnt make me feel any better....... :( I FEEL TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Has anything like this happened to you? what was the outcome? the teacher was telling me i shouldn't be so concerned,,,,,I MEAN, REALLY!? even though it was the tip! that needle went inside of me!!!!!... wth! I do have a reason to be concerned right?... HELP!

2 weeks after falling, odd bubble in my knee?

Two weeks ago I fell down on tile right on top of my kneecap (my leg was bent and I landed at the point). It bruised and swelled and is super painful to touch. It is hard to compare it to my other knee because I have other knee problems on both legs (lateral release surgery on both, loose acl, patellar tendonitis, patella alta...). II can straighten it and hyper extend it without any pain however it hurts to bend it.. It hurts to walk on. The bruise has mainly faded by now except for some green. The skin feels tight - for lack of a better word. It is mainly swollen directly below my knee cap In the upper-middle part of my knee. It hurts the most if I push where it is swollen and pull my fingers up while pushing down. After that it is really painful to bend my knee. It also hurts when I have anything pushing into my knee (like in the splits). There are certain parts where my knee is numb - if I push on it I feel absolutely nothing. This is on the swollen parts as well as in some parts over my knee cap. If I push in other spots I can feel a bubble that I can move around and have occasionally popped. After I 'pop' it, I can start to feel it again after about 10 minutes. This bubble typically hangs out at the base of my patella. What might I have done to it and what can I do for it now to help it heal? I know to do RICE, and I have been icing and elevating my knee, but I am unable to rest it. I am a gymnastics coach and high school student which means I have a lot of moving. I also am a gymnast but I could only do bars today. I also don't know how to compress it. I have training for a 500 mile bike ride and want my knee not to kill me every time I go out on a ride. Ideas...please...anything?

Is it possible to feel your carotid artery (not the pulse)?

You cannot feel the carotid artery as a ‘vessel’. Even if you hyper-extend the neck, you feel a bounding pulse. It's impossible to dissect the carotid artery and feel the actual vessel.Interestingly, I know what you are asking. My work involves ‘vessels’, surgically created arteries. These arteries, called fistulas, must be accessible and easily felt. They have more of a ‘whoosh’, as opposed to a pulse. Yes, you can feel the vessel and the blood rushing thru it. I study these vessels so that we can cannulate them with needles for dialysis. Not sure why you asked this question, other than curiosity? But there can be so much information gathered from feeling one vessel!
