Any one attending AMU ? * american military university?
I have received a certificate in Computer Systems and Networks from AMU as well as a BA in Psychology. I am also currently attending for my Master of Education in School Counseling. Prior to attending AMU I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with my degree in Liberal Arts. To be 100% completely honest I feel like I am getting an equivalent if not better education at AMU as I received from PSU. Not to mention the price for this education is great! For instance many schools offer masters in school counseling, but they do not certify you. This essentially makes the degree useless. When I am finished with my Master of Education in School Counseling at AMU I will be a certified counselor in the state of WV, and can start applying for school counseling positions in that state. So it is important to research what you are looking into. As far as classes I find some to be easy and some to be hard, but that is based on the subject that is being researched. Very few classes have had seminars, but you will probably have weekly reports that are do such as forum responses. All due dates are based on Eastern time because the school is located in WV. Is it worth doing a post graduate diploma degree in data analytics from IIIT Bangalore?
IIIT Bangalore is definitely one of the reputed institute for PG programs. But it is well suited for CS and IT. However, in my opinion, it would not be a great decision to get enrolled there for Data Analytics. Here is why -To learn Data Analytics, 9 months of duration is a bit more. If you take help of Mr. Google, you can cover it in 2–3 months. There are n number of channels available for it. For example, Youtube, Online trainings, MOOCs etcPaying 2 lakhs for Data Analytics and that too for Diploma course is not advisable because even if you do that, you will be holding entry level position being a Data Analyst in some X MNC. Rather, you can get enrolled to few online learning institutes like edureka, edX, skillspeed. I don’t say they hold a great brand name like IIITB, but it would serve your purpose.As you say, its a distance learning program. With around 50k budget you can classroom training on daily/weekend basis with very good knowledge base.Moreover, I am from BI background & the skills which are required for being data analyst are - some SQL background, some knowledge on BI tools, BigData & Hadoop framework and some practical project experience. All of this you can easily learn online & that too at your own pace.Hope this helps.. :-)
