How To Import A Video From Movie Maker Live To Audacity

On windows Live Movie Maker can you change the pitch of your voice?

You'll need to extract the sound from the video and then use Audacity - http://www.audacity.sourceforge.net to edit your voice. I recommend this to you because it's free, also you might want to know that Adobe Audition and Fruity Loops are better than audacity - but they're worth something.

You prolly can't change your voice with windows movie maker, BUT i believe Videopad http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad will help you if you want a both - editing sound/voice and editing video software.

So, i hope that helped~

How do i put a certain part of a song on windows live movie maker?

This also works for trimming Video clips.

View your Project in Timeline mode.
Drag and drop your audio clip in Audio/Music bar.
After dropping it, you can click and drag to trim it to your liking (click and drag at the beginning or the end of the clip).
If your Video clip has an audio track, you can right click it, and select Mute, so you can only hear your Audio/Music track (prevents audio overlap).

Have fun ... =)

How To Separate Audio From Windows Movie Maker?

There are 2 ways to do this. The easiest is to use Movie Maker to extract the file but it only works with the XP and Vista Movie Makers.

Open your video in Movie Maker, Timeline View. Click the + sign next to the word "video" at the left of the Timeline to show the individual video and audio tracks. Place your cursor in the audio track, click and drag it down to the Music/Audio track below it. If it's not up against the left edge of the track, you'll see a dark blue line. Click and drag the audio file up against the left edge of the Music/Audio track. Yes, the video will disappear leaving you with only the audio track but don't worry. Your original video still has the audio track.

To publish: Click on Publish To...My Computer. In the first window that appears give the audio a name that's different from the video's name: myvideo becomes myvideoaudio. In the second window, click on "More Settings" and choose "High Quality Audio (156 kbs). This will create an WMA file.

Note: I have Audacity beta 1.3.12 which was supposed to be able to open WMA files but after having spent 15 minutes in Edit>Preferences wrestling with getting the program to find the Ffmpeg Library that's in my Program Files, I went to the Audacity Wiki and there was a note about having to download the newest 1.3.13 version because of problems with Ffmeg Library recognition in the previous version. So I'm uninstalling the old and reinstalling the new;-(

In the meantime: As an alternative, Pazera Audio Extractor/Converter is a small, free application which doesn't install (It runs out of its folder using the exe file.) and can quickly convert the extracted audio file to WAV format which will work in any version of Audacity. So I used Pazera to convert a sample WMA file and it took less than a minute.
http://download.cnet.com/Pazera-Free-Aud...

If you have the older, 1.2 version of Audacity, try opening the WMA file. If you can't open it, either download and install the 1.3.13 version of Audacity or download the Pazera Zip file, extract and use it to quickly convert the extracted WMA file.

Don't you love technology;-)

Oh, After editing with Audacity, save the file as a WAV file (works best in Movie Maker). Import it into Movie Maker and drag it to the Music/Audio track. Click the + sign again. Right click in the video's audio track and click on "Mute" in the list that appears.

How can I extract audio from a video?

If you are familiar with Python, you can use one of the following approaches :-1) Using ffmpeg - Download and install ffmpeg so that it is in the recognized as a command.import subprocess
command = "ffmpeg -i C:/test.mp4 -ab 160k -ac 2 -ar 44100 -vn audio.wav"
subprocess.call(command, shell=True)
2) Using python-video-converter - This uses the FFmpeg framework for actual processing and just adds APIs on top of it. If you get an error for converter package after installation with pip make sure that you use pypi, unpack the thing and install it from there, pip actually refers to a different library I thinkfrom converter import Converter
import os
c = Converter()
clip = 'clip.avi'
conv = c.convert(clip, 'audio.mp3', {'format':'mp3','audio':{'codec': 'mp3','bitrate':'22050','channels':1}})
for timecode in conv:
pass
os.system("mpg123 -w audio.wav audio.mp3")
3) Using moviepy - Quite simple, clean package and uses ffmpeg A MoviePy crash-courseimport moviepy.editor as mp
clip = mp.VideoFileClip("video.avi").subclip(0,20)
clip.audio.write_audiofile("theaudio.mp3")
4) Using pafy - This is to retrieve Youtube content and metadataRetreive metadata such as viewcount, duration, rating, author, thumbnail, keywordsDownload video or audio at requested resolution / bitrate / format / filesizeCommand line tool (ytdl) for downloading directly from the command lineRetrieve the URL to stream the video in a player such as vlc or mplayerWorks with age-restricted videos and non-embeddable videosSmall, standalone, single importable module file (http://pafy.py)Select highest quality stream for download or streamingDownload video only (no audio) in m4v or webm formatDownload audio only (no video) in ogg or m4a formatRetreive playlists and playlist metadataHelpful Links -Python extract wav from video fileRemove audio from video file with FFmpeg

What are some free video-maker software, in which I can talk and make a presentation in the background?

Lightworks(Version checked: 12.0.2, released: December 2014) If it's real editing power you need, then Lightworks has the biggest set of features among the free pack. Its feature-packed timeline, strong multicam support, realtime effects and smart trimming tools are so impressive, in fact, that the program has regularly been used to help produce top Hollywood movies such as Mission Impossible and Batman.MoviePlus Starter Edition 1.0Let's be frank: MoviePlus Starter Edition has its problems. You'll need to register with Serif before you can download it, then pay attention during setup if you want to avoid the adware. File format is limited, too – you'll only be able to import a few basic video types (AVI, WMV).Pinnacle VideoSpin 2.0It's getting old – and the free build can only work with AVI and WMV files after the first 15 days – but Pinnacle VideoSpin's ease of use mean it's still a likeable video editor.The straightforward interface means you'll feel at home right away. View your media clips here, drag and drop them onto the timeline there, drag and drop again to rearrange, and preview the results whenever you like. Simple.Wondershare FilmoraSome video editors are targeted at beginners, others are strictly experts-only, but Wondershare Filmorahas something for everyone.ivsEdits LEivsEdits is a professional video editor which comes packed with high-end features: HD, 2K and 4K support, live multicamera mixing, real-time video I/O from various external devices, and a whole lot more.Liked it ? What are the best free tools for video/audio edition, that could serve as alternatives to Premiere?

Best free to use video editing software:Free software: Shotcut; OpenShot Video EditorFreeware: VSDC Free Video EditorProfessional video editing software that is free for private use: DaVinci Resolve; HitFilm ExpressI myself use Shotcut.VSDC Free Video Editor has the lowest system requirements.All this software runs on Windows, but Shotcut, Openshot Video Editor and DaVinci Resolve also run on Linux and macOS, HitFilm Express also runs on macOS.For lossless video editing (cut, join and rotate) (does not work with all codecs), Movie Rotator, Free Video Cutter Joiner Download and LosslessCut might be useful. As nothing has to be encoded when saving the final file, the process is super quick and without any quality loss.Best free to use audio editing software:Free software:AudacityFreeware:Tracktion 7I myself use Tracktion Waveform (the successor of the now free Tracktion 7), Audacity for some small edits and sometimes REAPER.If you want to losslessly cut and join lossy audio formats like MP3 you can use tools like Free MP3 Cutter Joiner, mp3DirectCut, Ogg File Cutter or Mp3splt-gtk to do that.

Is there a way to convert an audio file (mp3 or wav) to a MIDI file?

This is a tough problem.  A good analogy is converting speech to texts.  A wav file is pretty much like speech, with all the complexities of sound, and midi is like words on a page, a short hand that captures the essence but lose the details.The task of converting them is much the same. You listen to the different instruments and transcribe them note by note.  It's painstaking, but a skill that is practiced in musical schools called ear training. If it seems impossible, with practice it can be quite doable.  Regardless, it's much easier if you can start with sheet music, then it's like translation between to similar languages.There are several free programs out there that can help.I use 'audacity, to help select little sections of a wav file an listen to them repeatedly.  Also I can isolate the left and right stereo channels and that can help isolate an instrument I want to focus on.MuseScore is software I use to help write the midi/music notation.Downloading a pitch analyzer plug-in for audacity can help you hmm a note back to identify it.Many other free software packages are out there, this link is a highlight of options https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/...Lastly there is a piece of pay software called transcribe from seventh strings that claims to do the whole job.  I've never used it, but regardless I bet you it would only get you so far.A few other tips, look for other versions played by a single instrument, solo's, acoustic, or kareoke.  Again look for sheet music.  Lastly look into learning a bit of music theory regarding and ear training. I've been advising as if a bit of theory was assumed.  So make sure you know the basics! Nothing crazy, but the more you know about theory the easier the task.

Is there a way to put two songs on Windows Movie Maker?

You're exactly right. Because WMM doesn't not have multiple audio tracks it's usually best to finish the video then reimport it to a new project to add multiple tracks.

Other free video editors are...

Wax - http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ - this is also a compositor - a bit like Adobe's After Effects - unlimited video and audio tracks
VideoLAN Movie Creator - http://videolan.org/vlmc/ - up to 64 audio and video tracks
TrakAxPC - http://www.trakax.com/software/pc/
VideoSpin - http://videospin.com/ - 1 video track
VideoPad - the free version - http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/
Lightworks - http://www.lightworksbeta.com/ - I like this one - unlimited tracks ?
Serif MoviePlus - http://serif.com/free-video-editing-software/ - unlimited tracks ?
Ezvid - http://ezvid.com/ - 32 video and audio tracks

VirtualDub, RAD Video tools, AVITricks and Avidemux are also good tools you should look at. Although not full editors like the others they have some useful features.

Lightworks and Wax together are a very good video editing system for free.

All are safe, at least from the sites I've linked to.
