How to Improve Handwriting?
I'm tutoring an 8th grader and his handwriting and spelling is illegible. I really think that once he improves his handwriting we can work on his speeling an the way he takes notes, and then his overall organization. How can we improve his handwriting at this stage? I know if I make him do worksheets over and over he'll hate it and won't learn that way.

I used to have a bad handwriting too. I wont say it is like pearls now, but it has definitely improved a lot by following these things: 1. Find a pen hat is comfortable to hold, and where the ink flows smoothly without your having to push too hard on the paper. 2. Your grip should be light yet supportive, and there should be no undue tension in your hand. 3. Sit up straight yet relaxed, with your non-writing fingers gently curled under your hand, and your hand and wrist resting lightly on the table. 4. Your fingers should hold the pen in place and act as a guide, and all the movement should come from the shoulder girdle. 5. Concentrate on moving from the shoulder and holding your forearm, wrist and fingers steady. Muscles from your shoulder, arm, chest, and back should be working. These are the muscles you want to use when writing with pen and paper. 6. Practice making large X’s, /’s, O’s, swirls, and loops. As u get better, bring the size down. 7. Write as often as u can. take dictations from a friend or family member or just try to copy text or just write whatever u want to. Practice makes u perfect.
How do I improve my handwriting?
I am a 23 year old male with very scratchy and sometimes illegible handwriting that can cause me embarrassment. I also find that my handwriting can be very inconsistent, i.e. I may start writing a sentence well, but by the time I reach the end of the paragraph, my handwriting becomes larger and sloppy. I have looked through many websites, but have found no free ones that give me good comprehensive training or advice. The sites I have found base their training more on calligraphy, which is not what I’m looking for. My desired outcome would be clean, legible, and joined up handwriting. Many thanks

I am wondering what the best way to improve my handwriting is? I'm currently working on making it so all the letters are the same shape, but sometimes it is still illegible and I need to be able to Handwrite (PRINT, not Cursive) pretty well, since I will be a police officer in the next few months..

To improve your handwriting these are the steps you can follow (based on my personal experience):-1.Start by writing letters of all the 26 alphabets of english of both capital and small letters.2.Write and practice the above mentioned till you notice your handwriting is getting neat .Remember for improving handwriting it is very important you should have a neat way of writing.3.Start writing a page daily.*Always try to write on the line, not above or below the line.4.Make a finger gap when you are writing .For initial days it will be annoying but gradually you will by self have a finger gap space between your words.5.If you want to learn to write in cursive you can try the above points but for writing cursive you should carefully note how the alphabets are formed for eg :- each and every word is connected and you have to write in one flow.*And for cursive you can take a double lined copy because it will help you to make all the alphabets equal shaped.

Firstly, as you know it well your writing is not good, find out the one style you want to imitate and which can be done easily. At the same time loose up on your original style. 2. How do I improve my handwriting? And does typing make your handwriting messier ?
Typing all the time will make your handwriting "worse" because of disuse. The more you write, the better your handwriting will improve. During high school, my handwriting was really neat because I would always take handwritten notes in a notebook. After attending university, where I used my laptop to take notes, my handwriting was a lot messier and writing itself felt awkward (besides signatures). Moral of the story, if you want better handwriting, just write more! :)
