How To Increase Sales Of My New Cafe

How do I create awareness about my cafe without paying too much for publicity, as it's just a newly started one?

There are always the non conventional ways of promotion. Obviously most of them are not as powerful as the conventional advertising, as conventional advertising has never seen a decline despite being used for hundreds of years now. But you can always increase the effect by increasing the number. Here are what I can suggest-CHATTING IN PUBLIC: Obviously your initial target would be local crowd. Chat with your friend about how good this new cafe around the corner is, while you are at nearby shops, walking around, or in a local bus.FREE WI-FI: Allow people to use free wi-fi inside and outside your cafe. All they need to do is to get them registered at your cafe for security purposes. And free means FREE. Continue it, and those sitting outside, will definitely come inside. And those sitting inside will definitely talk about you. Make the spot eye-catchy: Do you have trees around? Put a bicycle on a branch. (Well, I don't know if it's legal at your place, but let's assume it is!) Now you can put any statement supporting it, like "Frustrated with poor parking space? Have a break at ". Or if you have a hotel around, then "Valets eating your parking space. Have a break! Eat at ". It's more important to make it some "Special Spot", so that people could remember it.As soon as you start earning sufficient and feel like increasing your sales further, do turn to conventional advertising. Rent boards and places for advertising. It is simply effective. And that is why, despite of being centuries old, it never lost its glow.I am sharing some of the ways by which we promoted our "Website for job seekers" in a small event at our college. These were used for short times during peak hours of student traffic in main campus corridor. One of us was also present around during these promotions. This prevented both- losing of promotion material and legal issues. As in Hindi it says, "Ek teer se do nishaane" :pBeggar got job and left his place (inspired by naukri.com ad)Another look (The bowl carries some coins)The paper says, "has running for job made your shoes worn out? log in to...."Or a chef forced to become an electricianOne Facebook-But remember. The best way to get the maximum benefit from any kind of promotions is to deliver good. Your cafe should provide really good stuff and exceptionally good service. Otherwise any kind of promotion, howsoever attractive, would fail in sometime to bring and maintain customers.

How can I increase sales/foot traffic at my cafe on weekdays during the afternoon?

Rather than trying to increase traffic to the cafe why don’t you bring the cafe to the people?Since you’re in a residential complex it sounds like foot traffic is slow during the daytime (that sounds right). So rather than paying staff to just hang out for that occasional customer, you could have them try something different. It’s tough to change people’s habits or have them go out of their way for something (especially something they can get in multiple locations, probably even their offices). You could try something like having people signup for text alerts or emails or go even more simple, get a clip board with a pen and paper. When they come in during the morning hours for their coffee, have a sheet that asks them if they’d like to have another coffee delivered to their office between 12–3pm. Could offer them 50% Off that cup or try out different concepts. But rather than trying to change people’s habits or have people go out of their way, just go to them, make it convenient, make it easy, that’s what people like.On the contrary, if there is foot traffic outside your shop already, setup a little stand out front giving samples of tea or an afternoon brew to draw people in.

What are some effective ways to increase a coffee shop's revenue by selling more pastries and bistros?

While your product mix definitely plays a big role in your sales, it’s only one piece to the puzzle. The average Starbucks total product mix is actually on the light side compared to many local shops. There is a reason for that.It is far more important to become known for a set of somethings, of which your products will play a role, than to rely upon food alone. I’ve lost track of how many coffee houses I’ve walked into that had great food and horrible seating or horrible wifi.Taken from a long article I did on LinkedIN:“One of my favorite coffee houses is a local dive by the name of Bennu. It couples tons of randomly placed super comfy couches with great bohemian service and food. The music ranges from 80s eclectic to gritty mixes from bands I’ve never heard of.All of the individual elements matter.Key in on my term “local dive”. Here is why that distinction is important from a branding standpoint.#1) I must like “dive” coffee houses.#2) There must be a reason for this.#3) Some dive coffee houses will win me over, some won't.So if I’m thinking about opening up a dive styled coffee house, I’ll want to pay close attention to all those details. In fact, I’ll want to get really good at all those details, heightening the elements that my audience most craves.”You can read the full article below:What Moments Do You Specialize In As A Brand?

I've just opened a new cafe and this is the first time that I'm entering this industry so what should I do to increase the sales?

To grow your customer baseDrop off flyers or coupons, or mail them out to your neighbors (anyone who can walk to your cafe). If there are any businesses near by, see if you can post a flyer in their break room, they might come by regularly for coffee breaks. You should set up a Google "My Business" profile so people can find you easily. To stay in businessYou should also do your best to make customers happy (good coffee, good food, good/fast service). Happy customers will come back, and you have a limited number of people that pass by your area each day. Each bad experience means you just shrunk your potential market.Make sure your employees are trained well in getting orders right and treating customers with respect. Their goal is getting customers to come back, your goal is to help employees become successful at their job. Watch for online reviews. Try to respond politely to any negative reviews and use it as a chance to improve so other customers don't have the same bad experience.
