Sounds like your spring is over compressed or failing. It's not holding your valve open long enough to return the hammer past the sear. The Brass Eagles are base on the old F1 Illustrator guts which were as basic as you can get (Hammer, Valve Pin and Spring). The spring sits at the back of the hammer and drives it forward when you pull the trigger and release it off the sear pin. When the spring is compressed. it'll drive the hammer forward but only hard enough to partially engage the valve pin. You can add washers behind the spring, you can stretch it out (a temporary fix at best) or you can replace the spring. It used to be you could get them in different colors, red, blue and yellow. Who knows these days. I've been playing for twenty years.

Ideally the shaft to bearing fit will be a "press fit", also called "interferance fit". In other words the diameter of the shaft is machined slightly larger than the diameter or bore of the bearing. A rule of thumb is .001 inches "interferance" per inch of diameter. This is a rough estimate. Precise design recomendations should be available in engineering/machinery reference books.To assemble you can use a hydraulic or mechanical press to push the bearing on. If this is a rolling element bearing like a ball bearing or roller bearng you should use a pipe or tube push sleeve to assure that the force is applied to the inner race not transfered through the rolling elements. Oil lubrication of the shaft is a good idea. As another answerer has said heating the bearing is another way to install. Hot oil is one way. There are electrically operated induction bearing warming tools also for this purpose. It is not a good idea to use a torch to heat a new bearing. It is too easy to damage the bearing.Alternately the shaft can be cooled to reduce the size to make installation easier. The freezer in a home refrigerator can give some cooling. Dry ice gets much colder. While not readily available liquid nitrogen gives the very lowest temperature and therefore the most reduction in diameter. Please use appropriate safety precautions when using liquid nitrogen. Both freezing the shaft and heating the bearing can be done if necessary.If your shaft is a loose fit in the bearing there are Locktite and other products that can be applied to set and fill the gap between shaft and bearing. Circlips (snap-rings) will locate a bearing to keep it from moving laterally on a shaft.Many machines have "shoulder", a part of the shaft that is a larger diameter against one side of the bearing and a threaded part on the shaft on the other side of the bearing so that a nut can be tightened against the bearing inner race locking it against the shoulder. There are special bearing locknuts with notches for a spanner wrench and lockwashers avaiable for this purpose.Some roller bearings are supplied with a tapered, split sleeve that comes with a spanner nut. As the nut is tightened the split sleeve collapses to grip the shaft. Further tightenening drives the taper into the inner race enough to reduce the clearance between the rolling elements until a pre-determined clearance is achieved.

If this does not work and you are under a contract ask if you can get out of it without a buy-out...If they say NO, then you'll need to see you DOCTOR. Explain to the Doc the issue and ask if he or she is willing to write you a note that forbids you from using your hands & feet for such tasks and that is why we have hammers for. You may need to check out another school. For almost ten years I love doing this and at one point realy got into Power-breaking and today, I pay for it with sore wrists and hand, almost every day.
