How To Keep A Contact From Going In Spam Folder

A yahoo!group member's emails keep going to the SPAM folder. How do I stop this, b/c it is not SPAM?

Well, you could disable the spam filtering. I haven't heard of it working properly yet. To do that, go to Management, then Messages (on the right under the heading Group Settings), then Posting and Archives (in the middle of the screen). Then on the far right column under Spam Filtering, move the "radio button" to Off. Then click on Save Changes.

How to prevent my incoming mails going to spam folder?

I am actually looking for a job and I am sending my CV to various vacancies through email. I am using GMAIL. Everyday I am checking my inbox in expectation of reply from the job providers. But unfortunately, I was not checking my spam folder and when I opened the spam folder recently, I am shcoked to see an invitation for an interview from a reputed company. They had sent this mail some days ago , and I am noticing it only now. I was disappointed for losing a chance. MY QUESTION IS : Why some incoming mails go to spam folder ? Gmail found it suspicious? or dangerous to computer or any other reason ? I know it is of little use to discuss the matter now, but actually I missed a good chance of getting a job.

You need to start using good email best practices. Good email practices start from the moment a subscriber is ready to opt-in all the way through the email marketing lifecycle and are very important for a good email reputation and to avoid the spam folder. If you've been acting like a spammer for a while you're email reputation is down in the dumps and will need fixing. Start from the beginning with things like auditing your opt-in process and ask questions like are you using double opt-in, are you giving the subscriber what you promised them, etc. Then choose a good, reputable email service provider (ESP). For these providers to stay in business, they must, must, must keep a good email reputation or their customers will take their business elsewhere, so these ESPs are fiercely protective of their email reputation. Simply choosing a good ESP can take care of many of the best email practices for you such as unsubscribe links, stopping hard bounce sends, and feedback loops. Some good ESPs include ActiveCampaign, AWeber, Campaign Monitor, ConstantContact, ConvertKit, Drip, HubSpot, Infusionsoft, MailChimp, Ontraport, and so on. The next thing you want to do is use an email validation service. Definitely don't send any email campaigns without doing this step.Using an email validation service will remove any invalid emails from your email database and can dramatically improve email reputation and deliverability. The problem with most email validation services is you have to constantly remember to use them and they require a lot of manual import and exporting and waiting around. Unhappy with existing solutions, I built a tool called mailfloss that handles email verification for you automatically. The premise is simple. All you need to have is a supported ESP. With that, you simply complete a one-time, 60 second setup that requires zero technical knowledge. Connect your ESP, set your preferences, and that's it. From that point forward mailfloss handles the rest. Any new emails coming in from web forms into the ESP are automatically validated by mailfloss. It supports many of the most popular ESPs on the market, with more on the way.

How do I stop a friends e-mail from going to my spam folder?

Go into the 'spam' folder and open the item you wish to keep, Ken. Click on the 'Not spam' button and it will be returned to your in box, also allowing that address to be delivered to the in box from now on. However, go in periodically and check to insure all items are spam.
Also, make sure that address is in your address book, as it helps to ensure that address as a "safe" one.
Now, I must warn you, if you get another E-mail that has the look of spam again, it will once more be redirected to the spam folder, and you will have to do this all over again.

How do I stop emails from going into the spam folder?

I don't use craigslist, but if you really want to get around the spam folder, the only way is to add the sender to the safe list. Different mail clients call it different things, you'd have to check with yours.

So if they're sending from something like @craiglist.com, you could add that suffix to your safe list!

That's as good as you're gonna get I'm afraid...

EDIT: Jalapeno, some e-mail services do actually. It's not 'magic' either, they just autodetect based on a list of certain requirements and if it matches up too many of those, it'll get sent to the spam folder. It's even possible to compose your own messages to imitate a real spam message and still have it sent to the spam or 'junk' folders, because it triggers the requirements

What could be going wrong?Email service providers such as Gmail, AOL and email filtering systems such as Barracuda, McAfee, Sender Score together track the suspicious mailing activities to safe guard internet users from SPAM.The filtering system considers parameters such as below:Email volume through your IP addressSpam characteristic score of your emailAny previous spam complaint against youEmail sent to invalid or honey pots- meaning to ids that are created to trap spammers. What can you do to make things better?Content: Review the content of the messages that you are sending. Make sure that it doesn’t sound like spam. Some software systems can help you analyse your message content for “spam”.CAN-SPAM: Check that your email list acquisition and message sending complies with country’s CAN SPAM act.Speed of Sending: Sending too many too fast emails to places like Gmail, yahoo can land you in trouble. Watch your pace.Genuine address: Make sure you send emails to genuine addresses. Clean bounces and trap ids. Take opt-in from time to time.Other reasons you can find here: A Step-by-Step Guide to Kick-off Your Email Marketing Campaign by Nid…

One of the reasons that this happened is maybe because you used spam trigger words. Some spam filters are triggered by certain words in the subject line or the body of the email. Some spam trigger words include words like amazing, click here, order now, this is not spam and some other. You could avoid this happening by using Spam Filter Testing and Spam Checkers. Also, pay attention to what and how you say things in your emails.Always monitor your campaign. You need to have your list of emails double opt-in (that would be the best for you and your campaign reputation). This requires the user's confirmation that he has actively joined your email list. When a user registers on your site or subscribes to your newsletter, you need to send them an email.Segment your list of emails. Also, use an email validation service. This kind of tool will help you a lot. Before you send, clean your list of bounces, traps, and complainers. By reducing these three components from your email lists, you will increase your list quality, your Sender Score, your domain and IP reputation. All these factors increase your delivery and inbox rates. I can recommend Zerobounce.net as they are an email validation platform.Best of luck!

I keep getting an inappropriate email in my spam folder. The same email comes mutiple times. I hate it! Help!?

If it is really bad, then report it to Yahoo:
report abuse to Customer care:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/abuse/
Then block it. Take out a couple of the older addresses you blocked to make room. Then, here is how I fight that spam.
You can not completely stop all spam, but you can help to put a big dent in it.
First, try not to open any of them, that only makes them send more and more to you.
Check mark them and click on 'Spam,' this should stop those addresses from being delivered to your inbox.
Use your spam filter and block address.
Look for the 'Options' link at upper right corner of mail screen and click on it

Options/ mail options / spam preferences
make sure spam guard is on, click on save changes

Options /mail options / blocked addresses
Enter the E-mail address you wish blocked and click on 'add block'
you will never get mail from that address again.
This should help you to control your spam.
Other tips:
Never open E-mail unless you are absolutely sure who it is from.
Never give out your personal information to anyone.
If you are on a site and you absolutely have to sign up for something, check the entire page to make sure you uncheck any lines wanting to send you any other info, notices, catalogs, ads, and the like.
Added detail:
Yes, spammers change one item in their addresses a lot, so you might try blocking the entire domain, by putting in
*@ thedomainyouwanttoblock.com
for instance: *@seeyou.com
Hope this helps.
