How To Keep Hair Hydrated Looking Good.

How to keep my hair looking like it was just brushed?

I have thin, fine hair that I wash every morning (5:30AM). I get out, comb out the knots, and let it dry while I'm getting dressed. From there I blow dry my hair on high, and straighten it when I'm done. I brush through it again, and make sure it's looking good. I leave with my hair perfect at 7:00.

By the time I get to school (8:00AM), it's all messy and not very straight. There's a lot of tangles, but my hair is still really soft.

How can I make my fine hair looking straight and brushed?

Also, my bangs look thin and need more volume. Any ideas on how I can get that?

(Additional Details: I'm a girl that has hair past my shoulders by about 1-3 inches)

I need help keeping dye in my hair?

When I used boxed hair dye, I'd get Herbal Essences, because it usually [if not always] became the exact color on the box. For shampoos, I'd go with Pantene Pro-V, I believe they have the color treated shampoo and conditioner.

If you also have a Sally Beauty Supply in your area, go there to get color treatments and stuff, it'll help keep your hair soft, and usually the girls there can help you find something to help keep the color radiant.

How do i keep my hair healthy if i straighten it?

i blow dry it and go over with a flat iron like once a week and in the mornings i go over the wavy parts.
(my hair doesnt get very greasy)

I use herbal essences hello hydration shampoo and conditioner.

im dont use a hear protectant but im going to start.
what products/hair routine would you suggest to keep my hair semi-healthy?

Best ways to Keep Hair Healthy?

Here are some tips for you to keep hair healthy (and make it shiny and not dull).
NEVER brush your hair when it's wet. That will lead to breakage and split ends, so you should use a wide-toothed comb instead.
Use a deep conditioner or hair mask once per week. Try to look for a hydrating one, because it will lock moisture in your hair and protect it.
Get your ends trimmed every 4-6 weeks to get rid of your split ends.
Also, if your hair is dull, it could be a sign of poor heath. Take a daily multivitamin, eat right, exercise, and drink plenty of water.

What products are good for relaxed hair???

It's always best to go to a beautician to keep your hair in top notch shape, but when you can't and have to become a kitchentician (you know, having to do your hair at home instead of at the beauty salon :-), invest your money in products that will keep your hair MOISTURIZED. Clean your hair and scalp at least once a week with a good clarifying shampoo (Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Shampoo, DesignEssentials, KeraCare, Mizani). Then follow with a moisturizing shampoo like Creme of Nature, KeraCare, DesignEssentials (these are great products to use, there low priced and give great results). Also a good idea is to use pure Jojoba Oil Conditioner and Aloe Vera Shampoo from time to time. You can get these at any Vitamin Shoppe store or GNC store. Jojoba is great for keeping the hair healthy and moisturized and Aloe Vera is used to maintain the health of your scalp and keep hair strong. Use a shine serum like Fantasia IC Hair Polisher to give shine, keep down on frizz, and has a light weight feel. It's important to give yourself protein treatments at least once a month (Aphogee Keratin Reconstructor Treatment is great and smells nice) and Hot Oil Treatments at least twice a month. And try not to blow dry and use a lot of heat on your hair, instead, when you need to style try Wet-Setting it, doing Doobie Roller Wraps, and Twists. At night, always sleep with either a silk scarf, a satin bonnet, or a satin/silk pillowcase to keep your hair smooth, straight, and hold moisture. Nothings worse than to have your hair looking healthy and cute and then lay your head on a cotton pillowcase. You just asking for breakage when you do that. Hope this information helps and good luck.

How do you bring life back to dry, damaged, curly hair?

The answer to all this problem is "moisture moisture moisture". Curly hair is naturally dry hair so you have to keep feeding them with moisture regularly. Here are few things you can follow to keep it healthy and manageable.Keep your  hair well moisturized using good products that are silicone and sulfate free. Sulfates are detergents you find in shampoos and are a bit harsh for curly hair. It strips hair off of its natural oil and leaves it very dry. Silicone creates a film on hair and is hard to remove from hair. Heavy use of silicone products leads to build up on hair which do not let the moisture penetrate the hair. Due to this your hair gets dry over a period of time and loses its curl shape as well. Do not use any hair serum as these contains heavy silicone in more concentration. Use deep conditioning treatments at least once in a week. Choose products that has humectants in it for deep conditioning. Humectants absorb water and penetrate hair and retain moisture inside the hair.  Here are some homemade recipes that you can follow All natural home-made hair masks - Right RingletsUse cold pressed coconut oil to moisturize your hair and try to keep it overnight. Do not use heat on hair. Heat damages your hair cuticles and when cuticles are damaged then it becomes hard for hair to retain moisture as your inner layer is exposed and loses moisture fast.Protect your hair in the sun, wear cap or scarves. Do not use comb on dry hair as it might lead to breakage. Always detangle your hair in the shower after applying a rinse off conditioner. After wash, apply small amount of oil or whipped shea butter on hair after applying a leave-in conditioner. It helps to coat hair and prevent it to lose moisture very fast. It surely gives a moisturized curls.  Here is the whipped shea butter recipe Homemade natural shea butter moisturizer for hair and skin - Right Ringlets.Do not use styling products like hair sprays that contain drying alcohol like alcohol denat, SD alcohol etc. These short chain alcohol makes your hair dry. To go natural or not: Can anyone relate to my natural hair type?

I understand your trouble. I grew up hearing my hair was nappy; my mom kept it in braids b/c it was "unmanageable" and "shrunk too much". A few years ago I decided that I was tired of my hair not being healthy, so I decided to go natural. The thought 1st entered my head when a patch of hair at my nape that hadn't been permed since breaking off grew SO QUICKLY! I transitioned for about 9 months (5 of those not intentionally) before I chopped it off. I didn't wear my hair "out" for 3 more months and then only sporadically. My transitioning was w/ braids, wigs, and kinky twists, but if I could do it over I would enjoy my short hair!

At first, I thought everyone was right about my hair. It was dry, tight, and hard to work with. I was determined to prove to MYSELF that my hair's natural texture can be healthy and beautiful. 2 years later, my hair is LONGER than it has EVER been and I don't miss having straight hair.

Please don't think your new growth is how your natural hair will be! Yesterday when I washed my hair i saw these lovely elongated curls and i was like "WHOA, how did this happen?!?" The hair that was described as tight and unmanageable is coily, springy, curly, and HEALTHY!! Your hair WILL grow if you take care of it! Just b/c you don't have a perm doesn't mean your hair will automatically grow down your back lol. Moisture, regular washing, and protecting your ends will do wonders :-)

In the end, you have to decide what you want to do and not let anyone make the decision for you. If you want to stay relaxed, do it, but not b/c you're worried about what ppl might say or how you'll be perceived.

Tips:
* Use shampoo without SLS... don't just conditioner wash (co-wash) it all the time. Just b/c you don't
have a perm doesn't mean your hair doesn't get dirty lol (I use giovanni)

* Deep condition regularly (I use Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose every week for ~1h)

* MOISTURIZE YOUR HAIR! Water is your friend :-)

* When it starts growing and you wear it out, try to keep your hand out of it. Trust me, it'll be so soft that it's gonna be hard but you must resist lol

* youtube is great to see tutorials, product reviews (so you don't spend your money before you know if something works!), and relate to ppl who are going through the same thing!!

Hope this helps :-) feel free to contact for anything else
