How To Let The School Let Me Play A Sport

My parents won't let me join a sport in high school.?

Compromise with them. Promise them that you will do everything possible to keep your grades up an follow through. If you start to see yourself slip, get help! Also point out to them that a sport opens up doors for scholarships in the future and that colleges are looking for well rounded students, and things like sports, clubs and volunteering look very good on college applications. Colleges don't want students who can ONLY bring an A+ to the table.

How can I convince my mother to let me play sports in high school? She thinks that my grades are too low (they aren't) and will drop more.

Colleges look at more than your grades. They also look at how you multiple things along with your studies. Sports, volunteering, jobs, extracurriculars are all part of the whole of admissions and acceptance considerations. If you do participate in sports you will have a grade point average to maintain so that would be something that you will have to stay on top of and could be something that brings reassurance to your mom as she will know that your sports cannot replace your studies in importance.

How do I get my parents to let me play sports?

Well, its good to know about your interest. You know your parents better, but still in my personal opinion,I would recommend you to communicate to them your interests, the sport you love and your future plans and how will you make your career out of it. Also have a backup plan in case if you fail in the sport as this is their most concerned thing.Communicate to them with confidence, show them your skills and try to convince them. they are your parents and am sure that they will understand your requirements and interests. All you need is just their approval for one try. Once you get that, I think your skills, practice and interest will do the rest.

How to get your parents to make you not play a sport.?

so my mom wants me to play softball becuz apparently, playing hi school sports gets you into college faster. i think its just cuz she sees a lot of my "little school friends" doing it and she dd it in hi school so now she wants me to. look....ive been playing softball since i was freakin' four years old. i am so sick of it!!!!! i do not want to play it ever again in my life. i hate it! but my mom insists on making me. no matter how much i tell her, she still says i have to.

im not a lazy person. im totally active enough, I run almost daily and i am vert fit. so its not a excercise issue. but she still say no.

I don't want to play a school sport. How do I convince my parents?

My dad used to be a pro tennis player, and I've been expected to play my whole life. When I started high school, this one girl on the team was extremely rude and mean to me, and made me not want to play. But I kept at it, and just 2 weeks ago I finished my last ever high school tennis practice (I'm currently a senior) For me, I was glad that I stuck with it, because it looks great on college applications, and you always have someone to say hi to when you pass them in the hallways.

If you want to be in writing club, I think that's awesome! But don't let that limit you. I was in 4 other clubs at the same time as being on the tennis team, and it wasn't an overload. If you seriously do not want to play tennis and it makes you unhappy, there is no reason in the world why you should play. You can always try out a different sport, too. I have a friend who joined the swim team, she had never swam competitively before, and she ended up being the best one on the team! Just find what you love to do, and go out and do it!

Parents wont let me play sports?!?!?

I want to play sports so bad! Especially tennis and basketball. But my parents won't let me! I have NOTHING to do as an after school activity. They are just too worried that their fragile little kid Is gonna scratch her knee or something. I literally have nothing to do really. I go do school and I do homework and go to my friends sports games and watch them play and get sad. That's pretty much my whole life. Its killing me and my mom doesn't seem to care!!! Plus sports will build my confidence, and I currently have 0 confidence!!! I'm way too shy. I want to be athletic and not sit on my butt all day!! How can I convince my parents to let me do sports? I'm homeschooled but that doesn't mean I'm some kind of leper I mean I can still enroll in public school sports! :( They should be happy that I want to be active in a sport instead of being lazy playing video games like some kids!

Can you go to one high school but play on another high schools sports team?

You can be Title IXd into a sport for the following reasons:Your school doesn’t offer the appropriately gendered team for you. You are legally allowed to play if you make the team. (ie, your school has men’s hockey, but you’re a strong female player)You attend a magnet school or homeschool that doesn’t offer your sport. My school didn’t offer cheerleading, so I cheered for another school. If your school doesn’t offer your sport, with consent of two principals, you can usually play for another school. That second school is typically your neighborhood high school. I know people who did that for swimming.

How do I convince my parents not make me play a sport?

I am not a sports person. I'm going into ninth grade next year and my parents are forcing me to play a sport. They don't care what it is, I just have to play one. I hate sports so much and I've tried telling them this. They just look at me like I'm a spoiled brat and say "You can handle it." The thing is, I really can't. My school is focused on sports and I'd be there after school every day for three hours. I hate the competitive aspect of any sport and I hate pushing myself farther than I can go. How can I convince my parents that I don't need a sport to stay active?
