How do people look so different over summer ?

Do you notice how like after summer vacation when your back at school people look different ? Like their hair or clothes or something. Like you know it's them but they just look sooo different

Is there anything I can do to change ? I tried this year but I didn't really get what I wanted /:

What is it like to be a summer student at SUNY - Empire State College? How is it different from the normal school year?

It’s exactly like being a winter student. “Contracts” (areas of study) don’t follow the school calendar. They consist of a chosen area of study, and must be completed, winter or summer. One spring, I decided to study Plato. It took me 6 months, to slog through the material, and to take the tests. It was, naturally, rewarding. I decided to contract also in existential philosophy and psychologie.at | Psychologie Informationsdienst Österreich the same time, and the workload I chose was daunting. I loved every minute of it.People often think that being able to choose courses is the easy way out. That is the farthest from the truth. Self-directed study is difficult, and demands strict discipline. Yet the freedom to choose areas of study (with restrictions, such as taking Chemistry, math and biology, all required for a degree program, and eventually graduation) is terrific. Those were the best years of my life.

Is there a way to make 'grunge' look more mature?

No, that and other styles are meant to be worn and acted on by the young who want to be seen as part of a certain group. It’s an identifier, and not meant to be worn by parents. If someone persists in the clothing and hair styles they wore when they were young, they will not be seen as mature, they’ll be seen as hanging on to their youth, way past when they should have. Think about some of the old hippies. With their tie dyed, long hair and funny hats and fringe. You don’t look at them and think they’re free thinking, lovable pot smokers from the Summer of Love, you think they’re burnt out stoners.Everything has it’s season. Maturity isn’t amenable to grunge, or hippie, or emo.

How to get pretty over the summer?

I start highschool in September. I have about 3 months to get pretty and how I want to be.. Which is to have baby clear skin, pretty face, loose about 10-15lbs, and yeah. What else can I do? I want a fresh start. I'm 5'0, and like 95 pounds. Dont say I'm underweight because I'm not >.< but anyways I have the potential for a petite hourglass figure, how can I make that happen :p I want to be that cute fun girl people love.. C:

Would you prefer watching (500) Days of Summer over the typical love story movies?

500 days of summer takes a very realistic look at relationships. Fairy tale romances aren't really that common in real life, relentlessly pursuing a woman doesn't really mean she'll fall for you and even if she does, things don't always have to be smooth forever. Cracks and fissures can always develop in relationships despite sincere efforts from both sides .Tom gave everything into the relationship but despite his commitment and devotion  it didn't work out. Summer was never too sure about them and eventually broke up with him, leaving him devastated. The movie doesn't delve too much into Summer's psyche or the reasons for the break up, Tom is left hanging and is really clueless about what went wrong and that's how relationships are. Sometimes things just go wrong and you don't even know why but you just have to deal with it.I really appreciated the movie for showing a relationship for what it truly is. I've watched too many movies which follow the same grind -> guy chases girl-> guy gets girl-> guy does something stupid-> girl gets angry, parts ways-> only to reunite and live happily ever after (or do they ?)( A typical bollywood movie would have a song between each of the above points)On an related note why are all movies about guys and their pursuits ? Are there any movies about a girl going after a guy ? If so please do mention in the commentsIts nice that sometimes movies takes a harsh look at reality. '500 days of summer' is a really great watch for someone trying to recover from a break up. It shows all phases of a relationship and also shows how its possible to move on when things go south. I hope more movies are made that look at what happens after a couple hooks up.I like to stay grounded and rooted in reality (even when i'm watching movies) but that's just how I am, so i wasn't really upset . If anything I felt happy that someone had the courage to show a love story without all the gloss and fillers.

Why aren't children born in the summer "smarter" with their months' advantage over September-borns?

In most locales in the US, summer children don’t have an advantage over September babies.True, they’re technically born ahead, if time were measured by a calendar, but achievement up to adulthood is generally measured on a school calendar - one that begins in August or September. Most school districts have an age cutoff for entry in to Kindergarten of 5 years at about September 1.Let’s look at two kids, one born August 31, 2012 and one born September 2, 2012.Auggie started Kindergarten last year, when he was five. Sep, on the other hand, missed the cutoff. By the time he starts Kindergarten this fall, he’ll already have 11+ months of development up on where Auggie was. Auggie, on the other hand, just barely 6 years of age, will already be in “real” school at 1st grade.Last year, Auggie was younger and probably smaller than most of the kids around him. Some of them had months of development above and beyond what he did, and at that age, a month is a LOT of time. Those patterns will continue throughout elementary school. He’s less likely to be good at sports, less likely to have confidence in himself, and more likely to need help.Sep is more mature physically and emotionally than just about every kid in his Kindergarten class. If he attended any kind of preschool, or had time at home for enrichment, he may already be ready to read, whereas the barely 5-year-olds around him may not be. He will probably be better at physical games, and have more confidence throughout his school career. As they get older and physical differences in a few months of age become less pronounced, some people overcome the difference in achievement, but in some areas, younger kids just never quite catch up. If you were never picked for Basketball in elementary school because you were the shortest kid in the class, then by the time competitive teams come around in middle school or high school, you don’t have the skills to compete. The same thing happens at any point where you have an age cutoff for participation. Kids on the one side often end up with an achievement gap compared to the kids who had to wait to enroll.

How to change my look over the summer for the new school year??? Please answer, girls!!!?

Lose weight. (if you have to)
whiten teeth is a good idea.
get a tan if you want to. but pale is beautiful, too.
new makeup is always a good way of updating your look.
new wardrobe (not entirely new, but take a little risks. you might like something more than what you'd normally wear)
new hairstyle (as in cut. dye it if you don't mind dying your hair)
if you have acne (the teenage curse) get some proactive or clean&clear

and whatever else you can think of.
