How do I make good decisions in bad situations?

Have focus and patience. When all hell is breaking loose, unless the situation is literally life and death, take a step back and make an assessment of what the options are before you. If everybody around you is going nuts, it is perfectly okay to say, “Hold on a Goddamned minute! Now, everyone calm down. Let’s get a grip. Nothing is on fire, and no one is bleeding profusely. Therefore before we do something we will regret, let’s all take a deep breath, okay?” Then you wait for everyone to shut up. I have even sometimes led everyone in a collective deep breath when it has seemed like the right thing to do. Then you can say, “Great, now let’s look at where we are, calmly so that we can make some rational sound decisions…” and that’s exactly what you do.Now, if indeed, you have a genuine crisis on your hand, such as a fire or a severe injury, deal with it as any sensible person would. If it is a fire, tell everyone to quickly but orderly exit the building. Stop whatever else they are doing, don’t stop to get anything, just leave the building. If you are the one in charge, call 911 and be the last one out. Get everyone away from the building and stay together. Account for everyone to make sure everyone got out. If it is a severe injury, try not to move them. If there is bleeding, put pressure on the wound. If they have been impaled by something, don’t try to remove it. That can cause even more serious bleeding. Try to keep the person injured as alert as possible.Once the crisis is addressed, then you can step back and work on moving forward.

How do you make a good decision when both options are bad and you can’t walk away?

If you can't find a good decision, then opt for the least bad decision. Because decision options almost never feature a course of action which is free of collateral consequences, try to enumerate the adverse consequences and take the choice which minimizes them.A concrete example, which surprisingly few younger people understand today, is the decision to drop the atomic bombs which ended WWII. The final decision weighed on the choice between (1) killing up to 1 million US servicemen plus tens of millions of Japanese civilians and military and probably extending the war another two or three years, or (2) killing about 300,000 Japanese and ending the war within a few days. Many millions of both Americans and Japanese are alive today because the US chose to minimize casualties and the end the war as quickly as possible. The least bad decision is very often the best available choice.

How do I make good decisions as an ENFJ?

Bence, thanks for your A2A. Sorry it’s taken so long to respond.I try to make good decisions in the same manner I try to confront challenges. When faced with some kind of dilemma, I try to make a good-faith effort to “work through things.” This is a process whereby before I take action in regard to any given situation, I try to analyze it from a “totality of circumstances” perspective.I try to be aware of time constraints which may impact how thoroughly I can interpret the “many sidedness” of most issues. For the most part, I am pleased that the process of “working through things” has served me well.

What are some good/bad decisions that Romeo and Juliet made?

Good:
Romeo's decision to take the servant's offer and go to the Capulet's gathering to see Rosaline is one of some of the good decisions Romeo makes throughout the play. If Romeo hadn't gone to the Capulet's gathering, he would have never met Juliet.

Romeo's very last decision to commit suicide was a very courageous decision, yet many people would think it a foolish decision. It is a good decision because of the outcome of this event. If Romeo hadn't killed himself, then Juliet wouldn't have killed herself, but because he did, it brought the two families, which had an ancient feud for many generations, peace and harmony.

Bad:
One of Juliet’s bad choices is when she chooses not to tell her father about her current marriage to Romeo, and pretends to do what her father has told her.

Romeo's decision of trying to stop Mercutio and Tybalt's quarrel brought Mercutio his death.

The death of Mercutio brought up great hatred and anger within him. It made him so mad that he seeks revenge, killing Tybalt. Because of this action, he is banished from the fair city of Verona. Once again, if Romeo had just thought it through, the law itself would have punished Tybalt for his actions for Mercutio is related to Prince Escalus.

Because of Romeo's urge to be in love and have that loved one, he makes haste with Juliet to get married and many affairs happen. This decision to dedicate his life to Juliet is quite impetuous. He does not think of the outcome or what might happen if his family were to find out that he had proposed to a Capulet or what trouble it may cause to keep this a secret. The outcome of this is that he lost his loved one and he lost his own life.

What's the difference between a good decision and the right decision?

Never ever take good decision in life.Good decision: You take a decision based on what you feel good, look good, taste good, etc. It is self pleasure/benefit centric and always favorable to you.Right decision: You take a call based on what is right. The decision may bring bitterness to you, may not favorable to you… But it is right from morale, law/order, third person’s point of view…Another important difference is, A decision can be good based on time, mood, point of view, context, environment, etc. It varies time to time and based on who takes and under what circumstances….Whereas right decision will always be the same irrespective of whatever factors… It should be constant for the given scenario.Always take right decision which may be good or not for the short term, but it will always be GOOD for long term. So, right decision will always be good…

Whats another way to say "the right choice" or "a good decision"?
