Help me update my Android?

You can upgrade your phone through the official manufacturer's website. In that case you may find a very user-friendly interface that would help you through the process step-by-step.
Your device is quite old and probably runs Android 2.2 that is quite old. The most recent update is to Android 2.3.3 and I there is no reason to believe that that would be it's final official update.

However, you can get much more out of your phone by upgrading to some unofficial firmware. Mostly these updates include many tweaks and features that are unavailable in the official update. It might even upgrade your battery life, your Wifi reception and your call quality. It wont be so easy to update manually, but highly recommended if you know a friend who knows how. Eventually it all comes to reading internet tutorials and carefully following instructions.
There's a portable android version called Cyanogenmd. I just looked it up for you and found an available version for your device.
First you should backup all of your data (e.g Photos, SMS, Call log, MMS, Ringtones etc...)
It is highly recommended to fully recharge the device prior to the update.
The next thing would be to flash a different "recovery" to your device.
After that is done, all you need to do is to download a firmware (Each firmware is made for a specific model. Don't attempt to flash a version built to a different device!), boot into recovery and install if, by following some instructions.

Here are some tutorials relevant for your device:

Is there a flash player for the nintendo 3ds?

My daughter just go the nintendo 3ds for her birthday and she likes to play most fun games .com and like to get on facebook and play farmville and she also plays a game called sumdog thats a math game that they play in school but anytime she goes to these sites they tell her to download adobe flash player but when i go to do that it says its not available and it already has java on it but it needs a flash player to watch videos or play games online and i was wondering if there was a certain type that needs to be downloaded or if they even have one and in that case it wasn't even worth buying because that is one of the main reasons she chose the 3ds..she also had a table that did the same thing and wouldn't let us download adobe but it got broken so she chose the 3ds and now it turns out it can't do it either. they really need to stop selling stuff with internet that can't even get a flash player. why even have internet when most of what u do on there requires some sort of flash player?
