If you have both a cat and a dog, how do they get along?
I had 7 cats and a Siberian Husky, a breed of dog which everyone said can't tolerate critters like cats.Since I brought my Husky when he was a pup, the task is much easier, just introduce him/her to your cat(s). Sometimes they fight, but mostly it just friendly fight. No one gets injured badly.Even now, my Husky loves cat than a dog. Everytime he saw an injured cat he has an urge to lick and clean it.if you want to make your dog tolerable to cats, buy a pup less than 6 months (if possible) because older they get your dog(perhaps) will be harder to tolerate catsWell I guess pictures speak louder than words.It's my Husky with his litte brother. In the night is getting chilly here, sometimes its about 17 celcius. And in the day it never exceed 29 celcius. Unlike Jakarta or Surabaya which is 30 degrees upwards is common.

Ideally, when trying to introduce two dogs, do it in a neutral place like a park. Keep them on a leash and let the dogs sniff each other. Observe their reactions. Do not allow an older/bigger dog to chase the smaller/younger dog. If you see that your dog is sniffing and wagging the tail, then praise him/her.Back off a few feet with your dog, wait for a minute, then walk ahead and let him sniff the other dog again. Observe both the dogs, if they like each other and want to play then let them play in a proper fenced area.If your dog does not like other dogs then just learn to accept that he is an introvert just like some people can be introvert and do not like to interact with other people. I actually just watched an amazing special on this. I found it on Netflix after searching "dogs". The dog has been essential to our survival since Neanderthal used wolves to hunt. After millennia of hunting with us, and living with us, and protecting our families, the human/dog relationship is unlike any other bond between two species in the world. In the special I mentioned they even do a test. Dogs look straight into our eyes and know exactly how we feel. They can smell our emotions, and sense our feelings. Dogs hunted with us in ancient times, and evolved to so many different breeds. Some for hunting specific prey, some to herd animals, some to protect us. So many other uses. Hell, there was even a battle in WW1 that the Americans used dogs to storm the beach. While very few dogs actually survived, it was the perfect distraction for our troops to take that beach. Those dogs were trained to attack people behind the turrets. I currently have 3 GSDs and a golden retriever, who I am bonding with currently. They are amazing.

My instance was the exact opposite. I had a 4 1/2 year old cat when I got a puppy. If the dog isn't neutered, he may mark his territory. My mom's dog does this every time he is around my cat! However, I would think that the key to a peaceful cohabitation would be in how you socialize the two for the first few weeks. I wouldn't bring the kitten in and just let him have free reign of the house from day 1. After all, it has been your beagle's home until now. Slowly introduce them the first few days, then let the interaction go for a tad bit longer each time until you think they are accustomed to having the other one around. My dog runs my cat to death. Sometimes the cat hides for hours. It makes me sad some days because he won't play if the dog is out. But, other days, he runs the dog to death. They get along pretty decently for the most part.
