How can I get stronger legs for soccer?

Well I started to play to soccer not so long ago, but I don't have strong big legs like most of the other players, so I'm looking to build some muscle on my entire legs to run faster and kick harder. So do any of you have a routine I could use to achieve this? Also how much protein and carbs should I be taking to do this?

If you were kicking the ball correctly and still had weak shots, then lifting weights or strength training might be the only way to improve but chances are you are not. I have played soccer my whole life and I have learned that if you kick the ball correctly, you don't really need to kick it hard to make it go.

When kicking the ball correctly, your ankle is locked with your toe pointing down. That way, when you strike the ball, it will hit "the laces"; or the sweet spot of your foot. Feel your foot; find that sweet spot. The sweet spot is generally located beneath your laces on your boots. You'll find that there is a bone there that if you strike the ball with it, the ball will fly. After you strike the ball, you need to follow through; if you don't follow through, you won't get as much power or get the spin that you wanted. Practice this technique a couple times without the ball; then practice with the ball but at half speed. Make sure you are hitting right. It is hard learn this technique through just reading about it so if it doesn't work after the first couple trys, ask a real coach about this technique; if they actually know how to play, they should know this.

I agree with David here.It may be caused by the fact that you play basketball or football or soccer or any other sports which will make your legs stronger.I have another theory, when I was in high school, I weigh like 300 pounds and playing basketball all the time.(if you call it "playing" xD) Then in 6 months, before I start going to college, I lost 120 pounds in 6 months and reached 180 pound weight. Then I realized that my legs are way stronger than normal. I think the reason is my legs' capacity is way more than 180 pound and that's why they feel too strong.It may be caused by a lot of reasons tho'.
