Is writing to penpals dangerous?
I saw there's a pen pal website for inmates. Is it dangerous to do this? I had a pen pal as a child but it was an old lady from a nursing home. She was lonely and writing to me made her happy. I was wondering about the inmates. I know they're doing time for their crime but sometimes they need someone to talk to.or in this case write to.
How to get a pen pal? (old fashioned written letters)?
Well I am in the course Spanish 2 and I want a pen pal. I don't mean over the internet, i mean like writting real letters back and forth (snail mail as some people would call it) Is this a good idea? Would it be expensive? Is there a safe program or something where I can find a pen pal that speaks Spanish? Thank you:) Oh by the way I want someone like 13 or 14... 15 at the most but no higher. :D
My girlfriend wants me to stop writing to my prison pen pals, so should I dump her, or my incarcerated friends?
Two are females doing life without parole, and one is a male on death row in California. So, there is no chance of any of them getting out. What the hell is she worried about?
Are prison pen pals safe to write to?
It's a nice thought, but personally I wouldn't consider it a very wise idea. There are other people you can become pen pals with. If you do decide to become pen pals with a criminal please keep in mind: A lot of men in prison are sociopaths. They have no remorse for what they did or who they hurt. IF you do choose to go through with this please take precaution. DO NOT disclose ANY personal information. They might become fixated on you and when they get out expect more.
Do you prefer to write to pen pals or send them an instant message online?
Call me old school, but I prefer the one with pen and paper. I have several pen pals and I enjoy writing and decorating the letters, filling the envelope with souvenirs (tea bags, bookmarks, cinema tickets, etc). I often send email to them but it's different, you know. Letter is very personal and you can find so many things from a letter (the unique handwriting for example).. and oh, not to mention the bliss of getting various, collectible stamps from around the world!
