How do i make pocket money in college?
I am going to brandeis in 2 weeks and I really need to get a job in order to buy myself more stuff. I got a stupid work study which only pays my tuition but not much else. How do i make extra money with all the time i lose with my 4.5 classes and my work study

The fact that you refer to it as “pocket money” makes me assume you’re in your teens. With this is mind, I think there are a few options. The first thought that came to mind was “Carry on and focus with your studies and earn potentially more “pocket money” in the long run as a result.” - But you could have thought about that youself, that’s not what you want to hear. So, on to the next option:Running a game server:Woah, don’t be so quick to skip over this. Give it a chance. I started running a small Minecraft (Tekkit) server when I was 13, I ran it for 3 years. I would honestly say that the experience in dealing with ‘customers’, working your ass off to earn money and the amount I learned technologically throughout those years was priceless.The server had around £30 a month overheads going towards server costs, payment services and general maintenance. By the time I closed the server down I was making around £120/month revenue. For a 13 year old that is some serious money, the only reason I ended up closing the server down is because I had a serious health issue that almost killed me and took me out of service for 3 or 4 months, right at the start of my exams too - So the stress and time needed to get the server back on it’s feet again was too much for me to handle mid-exams.In your scenario, you should be able to apply your developer knowledge into running the server-side of the game server and your friend can use his business skills in order to run the business side of the server. I wish I’d had someone to help me with the administration of the server, as it’s really not a small job.Not only does it provide you with a decent profit if you do it well, the experience you and your friend will gain from it will be absolutely invaluable. Most of the advantages are for the parents. By handing over responsibility for budgeting to the child , the child learns who to cope with money but more importantly the parent gets some freedom from the constant requests for things and having to make decisions - Pocket money brings with it the concept of deferred gratification and saving up to get something bigger. It also helps children to appreciate that their parents have a finite amount of money and resources

I do anything my mother tells me to do, yet she never gives me pocket money. Here's a list of what I do around the house... Put the clothes in the washing machine Put the clothes into the dryer Put the clothes on the washing line Sweep the floor Clean spills/mess she makes Put away her shoes once she comes home from work Organise her shoes Fetch her items (Phone, iPad, handbag, comb, brush, garments, clothing, etc.) Clean living room Clean room (when my sister has made the mess) Sort the clothes out Iron my school clothes Pack the shopping Bring in the shopping Make her drinks Make her food Dispose bottles She refuses to give me pocket money, so I cannot buy clothes, or any other essentials. Why would you just want to earn pocket money? Create a business online that specialises in computer services. Create a profile on LinkedIn that details all your development capability, get friends to endorse/recommend you. Say on your profile that you're seeing freelance development work. Go onto an online Jobboard and apply for every freelance Python developer role you see advertised. Go onto development forums, let the community know you're available for Python development work. Then wait for people to contact you, say you're only interested in remote work. When a suitable assignment comes up, do it.

When my children are teenagers I will pay for their clothes, shoes, phone, toiletries, food, any school expenses, accessories Since girls like to go shopping I will probably give them money to buy their clothes and shoes with their friends instead of directing buying them for them - though if that privilege is abused and they buy insensible Or inappropriate or expensive clothes than I will not give her any more money for clothes and take her shopping myself. I will also give them some additional money for them to save or use as they want... I will probably give them about $30 a week
