How To Manage Our Collage Life

How can i manage college and MMA?

So im a freshman in college and im 18 years old. I have been training during winter break since i had a free 2 week trail. Now i need to find a job so i can payoff the membership if i train there. My main problem is that my school schedule is kinda flexible with the MMA schedule. At the most, i want to train 4 days a week because i do Muay Thai and BJJ and that is a total of 2 hours. I want to compete and accomplish my goals to get to the UFC. My main problem is that since school just started today, i dont know if i have the time to do MMA since i lift and go to school everyday. I have to study so i can get my GPA up. Do you think i should just hold it off after i graduate college which i will hate if i did. I'm just overwhelmed right now with everything. What is your guys opinion because if i do MMA and go to school, i think i would have little time to study.

Can you help me with time management in college?

Time management is a common issue to individuals who are completely unorganized. They were looking for solution to ease their problem regarding with managing their time better. The easiest way to do that is to have a simple system that you can follow and stick to.

Plan your activities ahead of time. You may do it daily, weekly or monthly as long you work on that plan. Create a list of everything that you need to get done and put it on a calendar. Set your goal and tasks clearly by order of priority.

Limit the distractions and interruptions in your day by turning off email notifications, TV, FB, YouTube and avoid spending your time to your less valuable activities. Work on your most valuable activities.

Use a calendar and put everything into that calendar and stick to whatever schedule that is in it. Lastly, do not procrastinate.

College students: how do you manage 5 classes in a semester?

Organization is key! That and good old fashioned multi tasking. Here is some tips on how I got though 5 classes per semester:

-Got a paper in two classes due? Try to combine the subjects so you research once and just do some tweaking for both classes.
-Start a study group, (one that actually studies that is.) They are a great stress reliever for the overworked student. You will find it can help motivate you to finish the assignments. instead of procrastinating.
-Keep an assignment journal. Once you get the syllabus write ALL the due dates down along with their grade weight importance. This way if you really have to take a penalty on a assignment you know which one you can do it with. (i.e) I had a paper due the same time as a homework for another class. I took a -20% late penalty on the homework grade in order to do the paper that was worth 30% of the total class grade.
-Take advantage of office hours! It's saves hours on studying! Most professors enjoy answering your questions too.
-Make sure you have a good mix of upper division and lower division classes per semester.
-Saturday classes and summer sessions are good to fill in credits when needed.
-Finally, my personal favorite. Try to put all your classes back to back. In my collage we had class every other day. For example I went to speech on Monday, Wensday and Friday. If you can get ALL your classes on either the MWF or TT times guess what, you have days off in the week!

Have fun!
