How should I manage my spare time more effectively during my graduate student period?

Spare time, whether during a graduate student period or while building a successful business or career, is still just as valuable. The notion that we need to spend every minute of every day being incredibly productive is dated and old school. Instead, think of being productive as choosing tasks that will provide an overall best value for you. That may be vegging out and watching television for an hour or it may be picking up a great book or listening to an informative podcast while working out. Don't think of effective as just getting more done. Also think of it in terms of being well prepared for getting things done better.

How do you manage your time?

Managing time is probably the most important thing and difficult too, especially when you have lots of works to do. As for me, I am a home student, without any guide from anyone (I mean like tuition, academy or any teacher ) I have to study all by my own, then I have to do a job too as I am a medical transcriptionist and I have three little siblings whom I have to take care of (my mother is a working lady), I have to teach them too and all the household work is all my responsibility, (and my elder sister's too, she is with me in all the works which i mentioned). These are just the major works which I have to do. So, at first we found it very difficult to manage all the things by ourselves. We wailed that we need a house worker and we needa go to school but then we got courage and morale, we thought it was possible. We took it all as a challenge and by the grace of God, we succeeded.
All you have to do is to plan before you do anything, you have to make a time table like getting up at 7 then doing that till 8 and then doing this till 9, or whatever the way in which you wanna make it. You have to be ambitious to follow the time table you make.
You said you are distracted, yeah...I know that, that's the human nature the only remedy for that is be ambitious, set your goals, achieve them and then do that random stuff. Leave time for your entertainment too, it's not that you have to work 24/7, that way you will get bored and you wouldn't want to do anything at all!. Leave your weekend free of anything, refresh your mind then start the next week like a new life!
Be AMBITIOUS! and Be CONSISTENT! Think of what you'll achieve if you do all these things ( i mean the reward, like the joyous weekend that you'll enjoy with your frineds and family and all)

I think that's all!

How do I manage time to study wisely?

Studying effectively is a skill and we all should learn it in order to complete our goals. Here are a few things that will help you to concentrate more on studies:Taking notes: A note should cover all the key points of the chapter and should be neat and systematic. Taking notes is as necessary as revision because of two reasons: A) It will provide us a quick revision as we don't have to go through the whole chapter. B) When we write notes, we remember better. It is scientifically proven that writing something is equivalent to reading it 7 times…Here is a example :2. The pomodoro technique: This technique might seem very silly but it is not. In this technique, you have to divide your total time that you'll need to do something in many parts. Suppose you have to study for 3 hours. Then divide it in 3 parts. So, after every 1 hour you'll take a break of about 10-15 minutes. This not only relaxes your mind but also increases your concentration.3. Frame questions for yourself: This is a very effective way to study for exams. As you frame the questions by yourself and answer it, you'll be confident about yourself and also you will have enough practice to answer questions in the exam. Self-study cannot be complete without framing questions.4. If you have a doubt about any topic, get it cleared: If the teacher is setting the question paper, then asking a doubt to the teacher is beneficial. As the teacher has set the Paper,he/she is more likely to reveal something about the questions to be asked in the exam.5. A master Revision: This is all you need. Revision is indeed necessary because we forget about 80% of what we have studied in just 7 days. So,revision is a must. Therefore we must revise our notes: a)2 hours after studying something. b)next day after studying something.c)after 7 days and d)after a month. Following is a picture of the forgetting curve:6. Using flashcards: Flash cards help us to know whether or not we are thorough with any topic. Using flashcards is very simple : just cut some equal small pieces of paper and write the name of a hard topic on it. After studying read the topic on the flash card and try to explain the topic to yourself. This will make you thorough with the topic.7. Start studying from day 1: If you don't start studying from day 1, then you can't think of studying efficiently and effectively. So always plan your study goals and follow them. So,this were the techniques i do follow. Hope it will help..Image sources: Google..

How do I manage time efficiently so that I can give more time for studies?

Its all about time management my friend. Here’s how a blog takes up this topic:1)Take regular breaks and do the most important tasks immediately after the breaksInstead of taking too much pressure and stress it is important to take short breaks. Play an instrument, listen to song, talk to friends or go for a nature walk. My personal advice: don’t get into social media or watching TV, they never really refresh you. And once you are back into your best mode after the break, do the most important and high on priority tasks first.2)Learn to say ‘NO’Remember you can not do everything in the world. Politely refuse to accept additional tasks if you think that you’re already overloaded with work. Take a look at your ‘To Do’ list before agreeing to take on extra work.3)Focus and block out distractionWhen you work, there has to be only one thing in your mind: Your Work. Remember that everything else is secondary and can wait but the task in hand, won’t. Silent your phone, disconnect the internet and ask people not not to disturb you if need be. Also keep a tab of the time spent on each task.4)Schedule and Prioritize your Work tasks using a weekly plannerAll the tasks you do throughout the day should be divided and prioritzed into 4 quadrants.People who spend most of their time in Quadrant I usually have stressful lives. What they need to do is both important and urgent. They have to respond to tight deadlines, they need to solve crisis and have to put out fires constantly.People who spend most of their time in Quadrant III usually have a short term focus. They feel out of control every then and now and have a short attention span. The Quadrant IV is all about time wasters or activities that don't provide any value. Anything done abusively could enter this category too (TV, video games, internet surfing...).Quadrant II is THE quadrant where you want to spend more time. It is the quadrant of planning, preparation, balance and pro-activity. It helps you to be highly productive and your best self on important issues and dealing with important issues before these turn into URGENT.Best Regards!
