So, I'm 16 and am headed off on a Carnival cruise this summer and I remember going on a cruise when I was 13 and not meeting anybody new and just sticking with my cousin most of the time. This year I know I definitely want to meet someone sexy, and maybe get a little crazy. I just don't know how to actually go up to a guy and just start talking. PLEASE HELP!

Haha I just got back from a 7 day Alaskan cruise on the Radiance of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) a few weeks ago. The weather doesn't really effect anything. Well, you didn't state your age but I'm guessing you're probably around my age (16). So I'll just share my experience with you and hope it helps. So on the first day I went to the teen club and quickly decided it was kinda stupid with a lot of immature kids. I tried it again and met a guy in there one year older than me and we ended up clicking immediately. We ended up blowing off the kids club and meeting up everyday just hanging out around the ship talking, learning more about each other, walking around, playing cards, watching movies, playing fuzzball, flirting, going to the shows, staying up late, and eating together. On the last night some kids told us about how they got vodka and shared where they hid it. We went to find it (in the boys bathroom trashcan lol) and drank like a lot of it (well I did he only had a few sips). It kinda sucked that we had to be drunk to do it, but we ended up hooking up (not sex) but lots of making out and feeling in this empty lounge where the workers would come in and out of which kinda made it difficult, haha. I stopped it before it went any further though because I would never see him again and it just seemed wrong. We did have fun though and now we still keep in touch through text. It just sucks though because we will probably never see each other again and I already miss him so much!! But anyways there is a good chance you will meet a cute guy on your cruise, we weren't the only, I guess you would call it, "couple" there were a few others. Just have fun and make the most of it. I've only sailed on Carnival and during the March Break (the Canadian equivalent of Spring Break). There were a bunch of teenagers and Carnival is known as the family/casual/fun cruise line, so there are a lot of teenagers usually. When I was 15 I met a bunch of guys in Club o2 (the teen club onboard). Some of them were pretty cute actually, but we lived pretty far apart. One guy happened to be an hour away from me and we ended up talking for like 8 months on MSN and became very good friends, and then eventually we dated for nine months. It was pretty cool. Felt like one of those romantic stories, but then again I was only 16 then and very naive. It ended pretty badly last year.. turns out he was a jerk. If you're going on a cruise, I'd recommend you be careful! A lot of them just want some action. The guy I became friends with and all that, I learned he was a douche over a year after we met. He had me convinced that he was a nice sweet guy for a year and a half! Plus, a lot of the teenage guys who ask questions here usually ask about their chances of getting lucky. Pretty lame, huh? Anyways, didn't mean to scare you, but I just have to remind you to be cautious! It's totally fine to flirt and all (didn't stop me from meeting guys at a resort this year!), but it's always a good idea to use your head. =)

I'm straight, so I should probably butt out... but I have to chime in here with my story.When I was younger I worked in San Francisco for many years as a copier repairman for Xerox. I was wondering why some guys were "mean mugging" me for no reason, especially when I was working just south of downtown. Glaring with intense eye contact as we passed in the street with no smile. Did they want to pick a fight? Was I trespassing in gang territory? It took me a little off guard.I mentioned this to a friend who knew that neighborhood well. I hadn't realized it back then, but that neighborhood is The Castro. He told me that I was being cruised, and those guys were just flirting! Really? I was completely clueless. Strangely enough, I had the same experience in Seattle in volunteer park years later. I had just moved back to Seattle and drove to the nearest park to eat my lunch. A guy walked right up to my car and stared right in through the passenger window. I thought I was being car jacked! I was twice his size, so I glared right back with my meanest tough-guy look. Still, he just stood there. Fearlessly glaring at me with obvious hostility! Later, I mentioned this to a friend, and once again she informed me that I was being cruised... and was cruising him right back! Finally that guy just walked away. He was probably so confused. The story of my life. The typical geek, clueless about the social cues going on all around him.So to answer the question: THAT's how I've always cruised... badly, and without realizing it.

There are always teens on cruises! There are more during normal school breaks, of course. As to whether the guys are cute, there are about the same cute-to-normal-to-ugly ratios you will find anywhere. I suggest you consider personality and manners as the key, not appearance! Guys should do the same.
