How To Miss School To Cach Up On Sleep

Is it okay to miss school because of lack of sleep? PLEASE ANSWER THIS!?

I feel really guilty right now. I'm at the top of my class, but today I returned from a State Conference (SADD) which lasted until Monday, so I was excused from school, and while I was there, I slept very little. And now, due to a computer error, I stayed up all night doing a paper, so I have gotten very little sleep in the last couple days, and now words aren't making sense on the paper. Is it ok to miss school for this? I just feel guilty because I'm not sick, you know? I just really need to rest.

Should I stay home from school to sleep?

I am coming back from Japan from spring break today. The time difference is horrible and I will probably get almost no sleep for around 24 hours because I normally can't sleep on a plane no matter what. Unfortunately, I will have to go to school right after I get back and I have not finished the make up work that was given to me because I left early. If I stay home from school, I will have time to sleep and make up work. I do not want to skip school because I will have to make up work and lessons and my parents would not be very happy about me missing school but I feel as if I will learn almost nothing If I go to school from sleep depravation. What should I do?

How can I not miss as much school this year?

If you have troubles falling asleep, try to get exhausted before going to bed. When I had this problem, I'd just run like 10min (take a quick hot shower after that) or do strength (not cardio) exercises to drain you out fast. You could also takes pills to fall asleep

As for waking up, wake up 20min before you normally do. That would let you a good time to get used to the idea of waking up. I usually set my alarm 15 min earlier so I can stay in my bed a little more, get up slowly, do my morning routine (splashing cold water on your face helps to wake up) and then you'll be in time to get ready without rushing.

BQ: About 4-5. I usually go on vacation on a week where we have 3 days of school instead of 5 (on spring/winter breaks, vacations cost more) so I miss 3 days plus one or two days of sickness.

How do I get sick? I want to miss school?

I've never had to do this before, but now I'm really really stressed out, and i think it would be good to just take a day off to ease my brain and catch up on some stuff. ive only been getting 4 hours of sleep every day (if not less), and i think its really having an effect on me. are there any ways to become sick overnight? ive thought about just eating a lot of sugar and getting little sleep (which shouldnt be hard for me...), and hopefully that will upset my stomach. also, maybe if i swirl around in a chair for a long time? maybe ill become really dizzy and disoriented, and thus incapable of functioning properly in a school setting? :) please help, thanks!!! your help will be MUCH appreciated!

Would you let your child skip school if they were stressed/sleep deprived?

I was a straight A student and my mom let me stay home usually 2 days a week. Granted, I was having stress-related stomach pains and we couldn't figure it out, but I was staying home 2-3 days a week, to the point where they threatened Juvenile Hall. I remember once I felt really sick right before I was writing out a scholarship essay, and I felt well enough that afternoon to turn it in once it was done. But in those days stress in kids and teens was not well understood (due to abuse from a sibling I had PTSD, and needed help, but at that time no help would have been available.) My mom did the best she could have by not forcing me to go to school, and I graduated in the top percentages in my graduating class, got scholarships and grants to go to college, and was fine.

If my child needed to skip school, I would probably work with them. But I also would try to figure out WHY they are feeling that stressed and see if there's something we need to do in order to fix the stress so they don't have to miss as much as I did. College though was much easier because classes weren't every single day, and that helped a great deal.

Is it alright to miss a day of school?

because of projects, homework, and just in general being really tired?

I need sleep. And I am overloaded with work.

And I've spent like the past 20 minutes trying to decide if I should go tomorrow or not and I still can't decide :/
My mom said she was fine with it- if I wanted to take a day off and rest and catch up on my work.

But I don't know, I'm afraid I'll feel guilty.
And if I did miss, what do I say when I come back? (I'll obviously have a note from my mom to the school that says something about being ill) but what about my friends if they ask?

Do I just say I woke up in the middle of the night with a really bad stomach ache or something?
What is most believable for missing just one day of school?
Gah I'm tired. I'm gonna go to bed, ha, but I still have to decide!

I'm in 9th grade btw.
(:

Should I miss school to finish homework?

I know students sometimes do this—and parents allow it—but in general, missing school just puts you behind even more.If you have had an emergency or illness, speak to your teacher(s) about an extension. If you have too many classes and/or other activities, speak to a parent or advisor or guidance counselor about scaling back.If time management is an issue, speak to your parents, a teacher or learning specialist about time/focus strategies. If your classes are too hard, speak to your teachers, advisor, guidance counselor about getting extra help, tutoring, switching into other classes, etc.Skipping school to make up work just puts you on a never-ending treadmill, constantly running to catch up.

I haven't slept the whole night. Should I go to school?

Well, being in a similar situation myself as I write this, I can hardly tell you to go to school. The first few times it happened my mum would tell me to go to school, tell my teachers I hadn’t slept and also tell them if I had missed out on any work during lesson so I could do it at home. Now that I am in college (In UK) I have control over when I go in and when I don’t. This is the first time ever staying off because I haven’t slept. But I have also got a headache from lack of sleep and I am on my period so… not a good combination (sorry if it’s tmi)If you are going to stay off I do advise that you don’t spend the whole day sleeping as that isn’t very productive. Plus you wont sleep at night again.I also advise that you have yourself relatively okay breakfast and a hot drink just so it can give you some energy through the day until lunch. No caffeine. At all, nothing too sugary because you want to be able to sleep later. Do some work so you can catch up, maybe exercise a little to tire yourself out for when you go to bed - it usually works. Do some chores to help out around the house as well, For example I’m doing my mum’s washing today and I’m tidying the kitchen. So you probably should go to school, however if you don’t, use your day productively.
