How To Overcome Constipation In Two Year Old Boy

What can I do about my 18 month old boy's constipation?

He is having a very hard time going to the bathroom and is always fussy when he has to go. It comes out in very hard small balls. What can I do to make it more comfortable. Is there anything I can give him?

Can I give a constipated one year old olive oil?

As for why he is constipated...it could be from milk/dairy. both my daugher and niece have constipatin issues, both are because of milk. So I give my dd only the amount she needs to grow properly...at 1 it is 500mg, of all dairy a day. One serving of milk has 300mg. Kids don't need as much milk as I thought. Cutting dairy out for my dd and my neice wasn't an option for either of us, so we both give them limited milk/dairy and miralax every day or every other day. It is the only think I have found that helps, it is gentle so no cramping like a laxitive.

Have you tried babyfood prunes? Mix it in oatmeal or yogurt if he wont eat it plain..or mix it with babyfood pears.

We took my dd to a specialist. things to avoid are, bananas, rice, and apples! apple juice, apple sauce. Surprisingly apples are constipating.
give him plenty of water and increase fiber.

If there is no medical reason why he is constipated...best doctor to see if you havent is a pediatric gastro doc. It has to be from what he is eating.
MY niece suffered from constipation very early on...as a baby. Her issue is she is alergic to the protein in milk, (caesin) as a baby she was on a formula that the protein was broken down.

I jsut saw your additional post. Just asking since he is a baby. Have you tried not giving him milk or dairy for a few days? If it isn't the milk, try Miralax, (I wasn't willing to stop giving my dd milk so I tried miralax and it worked.)
I haven't tried the olive oil..it may work. I guess it is worth a shot if you can get him to swallow it.

How to give my 5 year old girl an enema for constipation?

I am a single father of two girls and lately I've been working hard to keep them in good health since my wife split. I will admit my foolish actions of paying most attention to my 2.5 yr old has affected the health of my 5 yr old and It's killing me. While my attention was focused on my youngest, my 5 yr old took the opportunity to eat all the junk food she could find and now she is constipated. Not long after I found out I ran to the store and got the most effective treatment ...a pediatric enema. I got it because they've been known to be quick and effective which is what I need. So when I got home put the bottle with the rest of my med supply and went on raising my girls. Then yesterday when I went to give her the enema I realized I didn't really know how to give it to her right. she is putting up and fuss when I try to give it to her. What should I do? If there's any methods, or tricks to use on her to allow me to give it to her then please come forward and tell me because I don't want to be a bad father. Thank you to all who care enough to give some help

How to relieve constipation in my 14 year old daughter?

We have tried fluids, such as water, apple juice and fruit punch. We have used the magnesium citrate, stool softeners and laxatives. I AM TRYING TO AVOID AN ENEMA. Any ideas? and be serious please, no stupid or funny answers. I am really concerned about her. Her doctor did some scans and told me to try all we have tried.

Can I give my baby coffee to relieve constipation?

My 13-month-old has a lot of problems pooping. Days. And pretty solid. We've tried all the the basics...pear juice, prune juice, water, fruit, yogurt, corn syrup, but nothing seems to work. So we've resorted to drugs, as in miralax and also baby suppositories.

My question is can I give my baby coffee? This seems to be a natural laxative for me. It seems like it'd be less harmful to her overall well-being than some of those other harsher stimulants.

I was thinking half coffee half whole-milk when she wakes up in the morning so it won't interfere too much with her normal sleep habits.

What is a safe constipation remedy for a 16-month-old baby?

Some ER Tips to Help a Constipated Baby at Home :-Get them moving around to loosen the stool in the digestive tract. Try pumping their legs in a bicycle motion while they are lying down.Massage their abdomen two inches below their belly button towards the lower left side. Apply gentle but firm pressure there with your fingertips. If your baby is older than four months, try adding a little prune to formula or breast milk. If your baby is at least four weeks old, you can also try apple or pear juice (about an ounce for each month of life per day, up to four ounces for a four-month-old). Babies older than eight months can have six ounces of juice a day to treat constipation.Cut back on foods like rice, bananas, and cooked carrots, and increase fruits like prunes, apricots, or pears to help loosen the stool.

What do you do for a baby who is 2 weeks old and is constipated?

It's always good to ask your pediatrician so I do hope you do that.   That said, my son had this problem.  He was only a week old when the constipation started.  Of course, my son was on formula.  Your pediatrician will probably tell you that if you're breastfeeding bowel movements can be infrequent at first.  For my son, it was the formula.  I gave him an ounce of prune juice when he couldn't go and seemed uncomfortable.  It worked as a temporary solution (no ill effects).  The permanent solution for us was to switch his formula to Emfamil Reguline.  It's the only one on the market that has probiotics.  After he started on that my son had no problems.  Now that he's almost 18 months old we make sure he has plenty of yogurt and fruits and vegetables.  We also make sure he drinks plenty of water.  Dehydration can really add to the problem.

How do I improve a 2-year-old baby's digestion?

Hi Sandhya. Is your baby suffering from a weak digestive system? I will suggest some ways in which you can improve it. The key lies in keeping it very simple and go back and connect with everything natural. It is very important in today’s world to focus on a very healthy diet and include activity in your child’s schedule.make your child’s diet fibrous including lots of vegetables, fruits, water and natural drinks.Avoid packaged foods and drinks as much as possible or atleast minimise them. You can do this by experimenting with different kinds of foods at home and make food fun for your child. I will share some fun recipes towards the end of this answer.Minimise bad fats and include good fats in the diet.Try offering ginger before meals. Kids generally like candied ginger as a treat and there are so many options available. Limit intake if it has added sugar. After meals, candied fennel seeds can aid digestion and help prevent gas too.Add probiotics like curd in his or her dietMost importantly eat with awareness not in front of tv or playing on mobile or laptop or computer.Sharing a few meal plans as promised to make food fun. https://www.babychakra.com/learn...https://www.babychakra.com/learn...
