How To Plant Seeds In A Pot

How do you plant bamboo in a pot?

You can grow bamboo from seeds by planting them first in peat pellets and then transferring them into pots when the sprouts are half a feet tall. You can directly sow the seed in the pot. But the risk is too high since bamboo seeds are expensive.Last option is buying a potted bamboo sapling.Bamboo is a grass but they grow as high as 20mts. So growing bamboo in pots is not a good option if you want full growth. For decorative bamboo ( arrow, dwarf white stripped, umbrella, etc) can be grown in pots but pruning periodically is must. It requires better maintenance.

How many sunflower seeds should you plant in a single medium pot?

You can plant several seeds and thin to one sunflower when they sprout. You may need to transplant to a very large pot or a five gallon bucket for one sunflower, if it is a large variety of sunflower, you should do this soon after sprouting. Remember to put a drainage hole in the bottom of the plastic bucket and place on a container of small pebbles or even glass marbles. DO NOT OVER WATER, this can cause root rot. In a plastic container once a week in normal temperatures is probably enough, in hot dry climates maybe twice a week but check the soil under the surface to be sure it needs water. the soil should only feel moist not wet or dry. Also remember to feed it periodically, I use a diluted solution of Miracle Grow for potted plants. The type of plant dictates the amount of feeding required.

Should I plant more than one seed in a pot, or is one seed ok? Is there a chance that just one seed wont grow?

School projects come with deadlines. Unlike a farmer, who has some leeway because there is no specific harvest date that she must comply with, you are doing this for education-reasons, so you probably do not have the leisure of starting over if the first seed does not grow. Also, young plants may die or fail to thrive for reasons that are not at all related to your project: bugs eat them, fungus nails their rootlings, you forget to water them, cold snaps freeze them etc.

Since your project will get an incomplete if you do not have enough plants growing well enough to meet your parameters, not only should you put more than one seed per pot, you should also make more pots of plants than you think you will need. Unless the cost of seeds and pots is a hard price to bear for you, it is in your best interest to plant three (or more, depending on the reliability of the plant sprouting from seed, and how green your thumb is) seeds per pot.

After the seeds have sprouted, you can thin them by pinching out the extra plants. Be careful about this so you do not disturb the seedling you intend to grow. You can slow down growth of the one you keep if you disturb its delicate new roots by pulling out the extras. If you get a pot with no sprouts, then hey, whaddya know, you planted extra ones!

How to grow mung bean seeds in a pot?

SmartAZ had the second and third paragraphs right, but I think you're asking how to grow mung beans in a pot of soil. You don't want to add water by the spoonful.

Soak them before planting or not, it doesn't really matter, but once they're soaked, don't let them dry out. Plant them 1 1/2-2" apart and 1/2" deep in any all-purpose potting soil in a pot with a drainage hole. Water with tepid water until the water runs out the bottom of the pot. Don't let the pot sit in a saucer of water--you want good drainage. Keep the soil moist (not soggy) until the bean plants break the surface of the soil (You'll only need to check the soil once a day), then gradually decrease the amount of water. By the time the plants have two sets of leaves (one set of seed leaves, or cotyledons, and one set of true leaves) you should be letting the top of the soil dry out between waterings.

After the seedlings emerge, give them all the light you can. If you need more information, Google "how to grow beans" or "how to plant beans" instead of mung beans (most mung beans are used for sprouts rather than growing plants, and if I'm reading your question correctly, you want to grow plants). Good luck!

How many seeds do you put in each hole, in each pot for tomato plants?

Hopefully your are planting seed that you purchased. If you saved seeds from tomatoes that you purchased at the market you will be disappointed. They will most likely germinate and produce plants but any fruit that you get will not be true to the parent. What you see in the markets are all hybrids and do not reproduce true.

Back to the question. Start your seeds in 4" pots with 2 seeds per pot. Keep them evenly moist - not soggy - and warm.. Once they germinate provide bright light for most of the day. When you plant in your larger pots cut the weaker seedling to soil level and keep only the stronger one. Bury 2/3 of the stem in the soil. Make sure your pot is large enough 14" - 16" or larger. Make sure the pots have good drainage and place them where they will get full sun 6-8 hours minimum. Plan to water frequently.

Good luck

I had planted lotuses plants from seed in a pot almost one year ago. So now what to do with them to grow them and blossom?

Growing from SeedScar the seeds. File the pointed tip of the seed down to one layer using a standard metal file. If you do not scar the seed, it will not grow and may rot.Place the seeds into a glass of warm water. The water should not be chlorinated and must be changed every day until the lotus seeds sprout. After the first day of soaking, the seeds should swell to nearly twice their original size.Seeds that float are almost always infertile. File any floating seeds down until you see a hint of the white meat on the inside of the seed. If these seeds do not swell like the others, discard them to avoid letting them cloud up the water.Continue changing the water daily even after the seeds sprout. You must be more delicate than before to avoid disturbing the growth, however. Growth should start after four or five days of soaking, but you will need to wait a few more days until the seedling is at least 6 in. (15.24 cm) long before transferring.Pick the right pot. A 3 to 5 gallon (11 to 19 liter) container should provide a young lotus plant with enough room to grow. A black plastic bucket works best because of its ability to retain heat and warm the seedlings. You also need to choose a bucket that does not have any drainage holes. The plant can actually gravitate toward the drainage holes and begin growing outside of them, causing the plant to under-perform.Anchor the seeds. Lotus seeds without an anchor may find their way out of the soil and end up floating on the surface of the water. Gently wrap a small amount of modeling clay around each seed, but do not cover the sprout.Fill your pot with dense soil. The ideal soil is about two parts clay and one part river sand. Fill the pot with about 6 in. (15.24 cm) of this potting medium.Gently press the seeds into the top of the soil. The seeds should rest near the top of the soil, but you should brush a light layer of soil over the seeds after you press them in.Lower the pot into shallow water. The water should be a maximum of 18 in. (45.72 cm) deep and at a temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21.1 degrees Celsius).

How do i make marijuana seed tea?

Here is one way! you can undo a regular tea bag, the kind with the staple. Empty the tea from the bag. Put your bud, ground up, {preferably quality herb} into the empty tea bag and re staple.You can do this with several bags at a time depending on the amount you desire to make. With a slight over amount of water{ to allow for steam loss}, steep on a very very low temp for about 20-25 minutes, sounds long but it is for good reason. The key is temp when cooking!.............. The lower the temp of water the better {less than a simmer} If temp is too high it will burn the oils you are extracting, if the temp is too low you will not extract the maximum oil content. Now, here is key 2: you MUST let it stand after cooking. Should stand for no less than 2 hours. And do not chill EVER. If there is left over tea that you do not consume put it in an air tight container {completely cooled} until you are ready to ingest. Use your judgment how long you should keep it hanging around {lol, prob not long}
oops and oh yeah, If I were you i would use quality spring water for your teas NOT tap water the ph is way to high. lol, another tip, when making tea you can also use the sticks and seeds also as long as you grind them first, preferably in a sweet-leaff grinder

P.S. you can use these same directions to make canna oil also, obviously substitute oil for your water. canna oil can be used in regular box brownie mixes or anything that you use oil for.
p.s.s. please be careful, ingesting marijuane effect you much differently than smoking, and can take up to an hour to take affect, but it will last much much longer and is great for pain management...........give it time, dont think after 10 minutes "its not working", your stomach just needs to process, which is much longer than introduciong it through your lungs and directly to your blood stream so have some patience

Good luck
And the entry about seeds having no THC is completely wrong, thay are full of oil! I am a med marijuana patient I should know!

I want to grow my own trees from seeds from a bradford pear tree....?

Foirstly Bradford pears are not grown from seed. A cutting from a Bradford Pear is grafted onto a rootstock(some other pear most likely some kind of siberian pear). The seeds you get from your tree will not grow a tree exactly the same as the parent tree.

I didn't look at your pic's but bradford pears have tiny little pears and seeds are in them. To get the seeds wait untill fall and they fall off the tree. I am not sure how to make the seeds grow. You might have to leave the seeds in a cold or cool place over the winter. Maybe the coatings of the seeds may have to be scratched. Once the fruit freezes it will become soft and you can remove and wash the seeds. Seeds will be hard and fruit will be soft. Soaking the seeds in water overnite before planting will help. Plant the seeds in a shallow pot in potting soil. Plant lots of seeds not just one. Keep the soil moist but not wet. When the plants come up transplant them into larger pots 1 tree per pot. Good luck although your seeds will not grow bradford pears If you plant enough of them or are lucy you might get a tree that is even better.

You could also try cutting some twigs off the tree in the fall, loose there leaves. after they Soak them in water and dip them in a rooting powder. then put them in a mix of sand and potting soil. Dampen the soil and cover them through the winter. Uncover them in spring and If they have roots pot them up individually.
