How To Play We Will Rock You

Why is 'We Are The Champions' always played after 'We Will Rock You'?

On the 45 of the song's original vinyl record release, the song "We Will Rock You" was actually the flip side of "We Are the Champions" in Britain, however the American record company requested to put the two songs together as a "double A-side" because American radio stations were playing them back to back. This is a reason why the songs are often paired on the radio and at sporting events, where they are frequently played. The songs are also paired back to back on the album, and they are still played together to this day on American classic rock radio stations.

The band used to play them together at their concerts too, as they were designed to run together.

What are some instruments played in We will rock you by queen?

Electric Guitar, Electric Bass Guitar, Drums, and Piano

Why do they always play Queen's "We Will Rock You" and "We are the Champions" back-to-back on the radio?

We are the Champions is A-side and We Will Rock is B-side.

A-side and B-side originally referred to the two sides of 7 inch vinyl records on which singles were released beginning in the 1950s. The terms have come to refer to the types of song conventionally placed on each side of the record, with the A-side being the featured song (the one that the record producer hopes will receive radio airplay and become a "hit"), while the B-side, or flipside, is a secondary song that often does not appear on a band's LP.

Queen (band): Why are 'We Will Rock You' and 'We are the Champions' always played together?

It has to do with what was called AOR (Album Oriented Rock) radio at the time the Queen album was released. This was close to the end of the “classic rock” era, with punk and “alternative” taking hold. At the time, AOR stations played songs from an album that the CHR (Contemporary Hit Radio) did not, mostly longer songs and songs that were still good, but where not certified hits. The classic rock bands at the time would often produce an album with 5–6 good songs on it, unlike today where you are lucky to get one or two. AOR stations played all the good songs on an album, but the CHR stations only played the singles or “hits". If a CHR station was playing a song, AOR stations would not play it, or if they were previously playing it, they would stop playing it. AOR stations tended to play longer songs than CHR stations, often this meant 5 minute songs, while CHR tended to play 3 minute songs (Billy Joel once commented on this, “cut it down to 3:05”). So when “We Will Rock You” came out as a single, it was too short for a AOR station to play, and since the next song “We Are The Champions” was also a good song, the AOR stations decided to play both back to back, as it would make for about a 5 minute song on total. This gave the AOR stations a decided difference from the CHR stations, who wanted to play shorter songs. In the end, the pair of songs became more powerful than each individually, so this is how they were played and remembered.

Weird cover of Queen's We Will Rock You?

There is an extremely weird version of We Will Rock You floating around on tumblr. It starts off with what sounds like a gun shot, and then the man starts singing in a weird accent. It has tuba, and what sounds like english horn, or oboe in it. Could you tell me the artist that covered this please?

Who are the TEEN QUEENS in WE WILL ROCK YOU the MUSICAL?

I've just gotten the part of a TEEN QUEEN in the musical WE WILL ROCK YOU.
My friends have also.
All I know is that we do a lot of singing , but who are they? <3 thnkz

Why has Queen's "We will rock you" not been replaced as a song played at sporting events?

Personally, creativity has been dulled with the advent of the internet and the age of mass information. When one has so much information at their fingertips, it becomes all too easy to search for “inspiration” and not try to think up a creative solution that is unique to your mindset. It can be coincidence that there are so many “remakes” besides the fact that it guarantees movie studios a slam dunk (usually). Being a graphic designer myself, it’s become all too easy with pinterest and google to “research” rather than “think”

Why is "We Will Rock You" so famous in India?

Cassettes and MTvA bit of history on the songAs per Queen, the song, along with We are the champions, was written after a concert in Birmingham when the crowd, at the end of the concert, finished the evening by singing You'll never walk alone to the band. So these two songs have quite an anthem-y feel to them, just like You'll never walk alone. The song was released in 1977, but in 1999,  2 members from the original band, recorded a version of this song with a British boy band, Five. And back in 1999, this was what was played in India. Other songs and artists of the time that you would remember are Venga Boys, Backstreet boys, Britney Spears, Ronan Keating, Robbie Williams, West life and Ricky Martin. Along with songs from these artists, Fives version of We will rock you topped the British charts and all these songs received significant airtime in India. 1999 - 2000. The song is also based on something that we all believe for ourselves. So a whole lot of people could connect to it. This also reminds me of the time in school back in the day when during school fairs and events, the song would invariably be played, mostly by one group sending a message across. In my case, I remember the junior football team dedicating the song to the senior team when a school event happened to be a day before an important match. The senior team promptly replied with Bryan Adams' We're gonna win.We all had cassettes and a player back then. Choices of songs were quite obviously scarce given there wasn't much of the internet. Buying cassettes, recording songs, circulating it amongst friends in schools and discovering new songs was how I remember the very late 90s and early 2000s. Though the transition to floppy disks to CDs and DVDs was quite quick too. I am quite confident that everyone in my school, at least the ones I knew, knew the song. You had to have heard it somewhere, school, friends place, sports day or MTv. I don't think my parents know the song though. Comes down to ubiquity, memory and the simplicity of singing an anthem with 4 words in the chorus and happily forgetting the faster versus, haha.

Song question: Sounds like We Will Rock You...?

Ok this may be really stupid, but there is a song (could be instrumental) but it sounds like we will rock you, but it has a "funkier" beat to it. I would assume it came out last year since I heard it at several football games, but forgot about it until I recently started hearing it at Phillies games (usually during a Howard at bat). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! It's not a computer remix of we will rock you...It's really heavy on the drums, I know it's hard without being able to hear it, but it's the best I could do. Thanks!

Is the rock band "queen" satanic ? And is "we will rock you" a satanic song if you play it backwards ?

.... QUEEN!?! WTF!?! Who... cares? They make good music, so why think about that sh*t? And why Queen of all bands? Why not... something heavier like... metal or bands that actually have so-called "satanic" verses in them? Rock the Nine Inch Nails! Best. Band. Ever.
