How To Prevent Cutting Coconut Trees If It Goes To The Neigh Bourhood

Can I kill a coconut tree by pouring any chemical or herbicide in soil five feet away from its base?

Firstly, I would say, try avoid cutting trees. But, If you need to remove a coconut tree, you can use an environmentally-friendly method or a chemical method. The chemical method takes a while and could contaminate the ground around the tree. In some areas, you need a permit and supervision to use chemicals to kill trees. An environmentally-sound method utilizes a traditional chainsaw and boiling water to get the job done and you will likely not require a permit or supervision to complete the task.Cut ¾ through the tree with a chainsaw on the side of the tree that faces the direction of where you want the tree to fall. When you remove the chainsaw, the tree will collapse on the cut and change the direction that the tree will fall.Cut through the remaining portion of the tree from the opposite side. The tree will now fall.Drill ½-inch holes through the top of the tree stump with a ½-inch drill bit and hand drill. Drill down as far as you can.Pour boiling water into the holes in the trunk daily until you see the trunk starting to rot. This indicates that the tree is fully dead and will no longer attempt to grow.Thank You.Abhinaba Chakraborty

What would happen, if we cut down all of the trees?

Everybody Dies™:as the national maple sirup reserves run out the Canadians get angry, God knows what could happen…Or… Somebody Dies™ ;)Some of the cutters die (statistically it’s quite a dangerous work)Rainforest ecosystems go to hell (and with them some big scale climate stuff), some of the ecosystems probably disappearing from the planet (they struggle to regenerate)CO2 and oxygen levels could bump up and down a little, but it’s hard to tell, the rapid growth of smaller species could attenuate thatIf you let the forest grow back you will have most of them back in 30–40 years (a lot of species grow back from the stump), without the giant trees, but still nice forestsA lot of species will go extinct: they need huge trees to survive, I’d guess some of these have medical use for the locals, some of them could feel bad too, we’d loose a lot in terms of biodiversity and knowledge and beautybut in 200 years only a specialist could tell that it happened. If you keep cutting them, that would be a problem.Forests are the natural state of many drylands, we have to continuously do something to keep the landscape in a different shape.P.S. The original question was about cutting all the trees :)

How do Indonesians protect themselves from falling coconuts?

This question didn't come to my surprise when I knew it wasn't a trivial one. This question must have been posed by a guy who is well-informed that people are having a momentary lapse of attention. I don't know who questioner Christopher Masser is, with a blank profile, but appreciate his taking warning notice. Before getting to the core, please read this unexpected article slowly, and be collected: Death by Coconuts.(For Indonesian incidents, you can google 'kelapa jatuh kepala' or 'kejatuhan kelapa'.)Mind-blowing, isn't it? Baffled by what's behind those versatile fruits?A green coconut, full grown and with its shell, still on the palm tree, can weigh up to two kilos (41/2 lbs.) because it’s full of water. If you take into account that palm trees can grow as high as 30 metres (98 feet) which is about the height of an 8 storey building, the speed with which a coconut falls reaches around 85 km/hr (53 mph). This means that the force of the coconut as it hits the ground is equivalent in weight to a ton. Or, looking at it a different way, if it did fall, this fruit so highly valued by castaways, would have the same effect as a Austin Mini falling from about a foot and a half above your head. (Alvaro Cerezo)[1]Now let's go to the landscape. How do Indonesians protect themselves from falling coconuts? There is no official guidance to prevent citizens from falling coconuts. Everybody knows we don't need qualified experts to safe Indonesians from being hit by a falling coconut. Simply get a net installed around the tree to catch the coconuts:Done!Or, you can get a net installed at the necessary place with supports, which will catch falling coconuts and prevent them from hitting a car:The danger is facing passersby and vehicles. So how to protect ourselves?avoid walking, leaning, resting, stopping or parking a car under a coconut tree;wear a helmet or hold an umbrella if you do have to stand under a coconut tree; this might help; anddon't shake the coconut tree.PS: This is to pay homage to my childhood friend who died after being hit by a falling coconut.Footnotes[1] Coconut falling on head

If a dead tree on my neighbor's property is likely to fall and cause damage on my property, is my neighbor obligated to pay for the tree removal, or should I expect to share the cost?

Generally, if the tree owner, that is the place where the tree is rooted, fails to properly care for it, and it falls on your property, they become financially responsible for any damage caused by that tree.Whether they would be financially responsible for you staying in a hotel, for example, I cannot say.The best way to resolve this may be to call the power company. Sometimes power companies will remove trees if they are in a position to damage power lines. You can also do as others have suggested, call an arborist, get an opinion (they will normally provide free estimates) and go speak with the owner about the problem and the danger.I recently had a tree company come in and remove all of the branches from the trees my neighbor has failed to keep from crossing over my fence. He actually asked permission to come onto my property and trim the trees and I said sure. The resulting trimming was laughable, and frankly, probably damaged his trees. I do not expect to recoup the cost from him.It is good to be proactive when you can, but you want to be sure to follow the law. You cannot trespass onto someone else’s property to trim. Different jurisdictions will have different laws.

When trees are cut, soil erosion happens. Why?

Two factors like Wind blow and Rain Drops can be controlled by a tree. Trees act like obstacles to wind blow. They slow down the high speed air-blow and mostly interrupt the wind, which prevents soil to be blown up. Again the soil beneath dense trees contains too much of moist as compared to the desert area. This also helps the soil, hard to be blown up by wind. Similarly speed of rain drops, rainfall intensity and runoff are the causes of soil erosion by water. The impact of raindrops will break up the soil and water build-up will create runoff, taking sediment with it. Trees help to scatter and break the speed of rain drops. Inside a deep & dense forest, water reaches the ground after several hours of rainfall. The photo I am sharing is snapped by me during a heavy rainfall of 15 minutes and you can see a single tree is saving the ground even after a long period.A dense forest with much vegetation cover always becomes a barrier to strong wind and heavy raindrops and provide full support to its bottom. There are several artificial methods to eliminate soil erosion but they are much more expensive and not so effective as compared to the vegetation cover. So cutting of trees causes soil erosion.

Does lice ever go away.?

Ok I just went through this with my daughter it took us almost a month and 2 checks at the health department to get rid of them completely. First off wash anything in her room washable with hot water and put the in the dryer on high heat. Put pillows in the dryer on high heat. All stuffed animals in a plastic bag in a closet for at least 2 weeks. Use the head lise shampoo for the lice and come then use olive oil or mayonnaise, i know this sound crazy the health dept told me this and that is how we got rid of them. The nits have this type of glue that hold them to your hail and the oils will help to release them. I would suggest you start with the wash and first coming of friday, then use the oils on saturday so you have all day to let it sit on her hair for about 1 hour and the rest of the day to wash it all out, then come again on sunday. Buy the spray so you can spray her mattress you furniture.

OR YOU CAN DO THIS
STEPS TO LOUSE-FREE HAIR
1. Buy a jar of extra virgin organic coconut oil.
2. Melt about two dessert spoonfuls of the solidified oil and let it cool a bit. You don't want to burn your scalp.
3. Apply the oil liberally to your scalp.
4. Massage well into your scalp.
5. Make sure that you put the oil on your hands and work it through the length of hair.
6. Wrap the hair in the plastic wrap you use to cover food, or wear a shower cap. If you're sharing a house and you don't want people to see you looking so weird, you can skip that step.

It's best to do this at night so that you can wash your hair next morning. Put an old towel on your pillow so that the oil doesn't stain your pillow cases.

After shampooing your hair, use one of those fine-toothed combs to remove dead lice and any eggs next morning.

TIPS
Use top quality extra virgin, and preferably organic, coconut oil. One jar will last for ages. Besides being an effective treatment for head lice, coconut oil has endless other health benefits

Hope this helps.
