How do I stop my Android Lollipop from "Optimizing app" on boot?

Hey there! I hope I can list some information that can help. I know how aggravating it is when something goes haywire after an update.I did some research on this issue specifically and found it to be a known issue. There are others going through the same situation. Here are some steps to try:First, I would try to recall if the issue happened after installing an app and if so, remove it. You can always reinstall an app that is a must have. (This is hit or miss but worth troubleshooting.)Second, I would try the troubleshooting steps provided by Motorola. The following steps were released in an effort to resolve the issue:1. Ensure the device is powered off, and unplugged2. Press and hold the Volume Down button and Power button (located on the right edge of the device) for approximately 3 seconds then release.3. From the "Boot Mode Selection Menu" screen, select Recovery.Note: Use the Volume Down button to scroll through the menu options and the Volume Up button to select.4. From the "No Command" screen (Android figure lying on his back), press and hold the Power button then press and release the Volume Up button to display the menu options.5. Select "wipe cache partition".Note: Use the Volume buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.6. "Reboot system now" will be highlighted, press the Power button to select it.Note: Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.Third, if that doesn’t work, there is always the option to restore to factory settings. I know it is normally the least desirable but it is effective. I would back up as much information as the situation will allow. The last step, if not already done, would be to contact your carrier for their tech support department. These situations can sometimes be carrier specific. If you have insurance or mobile protection through Asurion, that gives you a couple of options. Total Mobile Protection will give you one on one support that will be with you until the end. Devices, when purchased new, come with a one year warranty. If you have insurance, it could be extended to a two year warranty. If it’s within the one year warranty and there is no liquid / physical damage, Motorola would generally replace the device. Here are a couple of resources for you -"Android is Starting" "Optimizing App x of xxx" With Restarts of the phone 5.1 VerizonOptimizing apps on every rebootHow to fix 'Android is starting' optimization on every boot?Hope this helps!

How do I stop auto-install of random apps in phone?

Hello readers,

I had ordered a Lenovo Golden Warrior A8 (from ebay) , and from the moment I started using it, some completely random apps were installed. I uninstalled them and deleted their apk files, believing that this could prevent the system from installing them again.

From then until now, this whole thing hasn t stopped and random apps are installed all the time, sometimes even without my permission. The most common apsp I encounter is "UC mini browser" and "360 security".

I searched the web for a solution, only thing I found is "you must root your phone" or "do a factory reset". I tried the second one but nothing.

Any ideas?

Do 'force stop' affects the application?

If you force stops system apps it may affect your phone but nothing serious coz after force stop there are fair chances that android will run that app again and it will do this as many time you do stop that app which obliviously can slow your phone a little bit.Force stop work differently for third party apps .It will stop your app and app will not start automatically until you open the app again .for example :- if you force stop any messaging app like whatsapp ,snapchat etc , that particular app will not push notification until you reopen that app again.

I updated Android and it changed my virtual keyboard. How do I switch back to the keyboard I was using before the update?

I'm not sure what model of Samsung Android phone you have, but there should be a way to change the keyboard from the default keyboard to a new, better keyboard. I'm also not sure what might have caused the keyboard to change. Maybe it was updated. Maybe when you updated Android it switched from the default Samsung TouchWiz keyboard to the Google keyboard (if so, it's easy to change it back to the default Samsung keyboard).Anyway...Changing your keyboardBelow is a video that shows how to change the virtual keyboard on a Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4. Changing the keyboard on a Galaxy S3 I assume changing the keyboard on the S3 and S3 Mini will be similar. If you get stuck, see your users guide. (Really. Users guides are usually quite helpful.) I couldn't find the official version (it's probably on your phone, or came with your phone). Two websites claim to have a S3 Mini users guide:Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini User Manual/User GuideSamsung Galaxy S III mini Manual / User GuideChanging the keyboard on a Galaxy S4What if you don't know what model your phone is?If you go to the settings of your phone, there should be some sort of "About phone" option (or something similar) somewhere in there. Press that and it should have information about your phone, including the model. What virtual keyboard can you use instead?Other Android keyboard apps:SwiftKey KeyboardSwypeGoogle KeyboardThere are others; those are among the best.
