How To Protect Permed Hair From Rain

Should I wash my hair before a perm?

Actually, before any perm service you want to clean the hair thoroughly. In fact, most salons will shampoo the hair using a clarifying shampoo to remove any excess oils and residue from the hair so that the perm solution can better penetrate the hair. If you are concerned over keeping the hair safe and healthy, you can give yourself a deep conditioning treatment a few days before the perm. Not washing the hair prior to a perm service can result in poor perm results. Oils and product build-up can prevent the waving lotion from penetrating the hair shaft and can keep the hair from conforming properly to the shape of the perm rod. This can mean limper curls and results that don't last as long as desired. For coloring, you want the hair to be clean and dry before you apply the color. You should shampoo the hair the day of your appointment provided you have enough time to make sure the hair is fully dry before your appointment (or the time you plan to color yourself). Avoid using styling products before a color service as anything that coats the hair surface can prevent the color from penetrating and lead to uneven color results.

I have just relaxed my hair and then it got wet in the rain and become frizzy again. how can i get it straight?

Heat. Use a flat iron, curling iron, or rollers under a portable dryer. Don't use too much heat or you'll damage your hair. If you know your hair well, then you might be able to find other ways to get your hair straight, for instance, I was able to use royal crown castor oil, wrap my hair, and cover with a scarf and the next morning my hair would be extremely straight and shiny.

Hair gel or spay to protect against humidity?

So, i live in fl & obviously we have high humidity, & lovely rain, but, i cant keep my straightened hair to stay staight. I don't really like using serums because they make my hair oily even when i dont use a lot, & already I have soft hair, so for some reason its more prone to getting curly or poofy when it's relaxed. I was thinking i would need a gel or hairspray that wont turn to mush in our weather, but i've yet to find one that'll work. any suggestions? please & thanks :]

How to protect permed hair from rain?

I got my hair permed for a formal I'm going to, but it's going to rain for the next few days so I can't get it wet. I can't tie my hair up and according to the forecast, it's also going to be windy so I might not be able to my umbrella. I have a school uniform so I can't wear a hoodie in school (I need to get to and from different blocks without cover). I also had my bangs styled so I need to protect them too.

Any ideas on what I should do?

Do u kno if salon do hair straightening for one day?

Yes, they will do that for you. But make sure you go to someone who is good at dealing with curly hair. I have ridiculously curly hair, and it's hard for even hair dressers to get my hair straight. Also, without chemicals, if it rains, or if it is humid, it will still probably frizz if you are outside for very long, so make sure you bring a silk scarf or something to protect your hair from nature. Plan on spending at least $25, depending on how long/thick your hair is. I've also had better luck at "ethnic" salons - black women or women of Middle Eastern descent, who are used to thick, coarse curly hair. I don't know what kind of hair you have (wavy/curly; thick/thin), but that has been my experience. Good luck!

How can I grow my hair after smoothing?

Thank you for A2AIn smoothing they use harsh chemical and it damages the hair a lot and I have experienced this myself. But if you start taking care of your hair from the week 1 after smoothing you might not have any major side effects like hair fall and split ends.Refer my answer to this question and follow these tips.it might help you.I have attached the question below. How can one naturally get silky, thick and straight hair?

Is Bangalore water and air bad for hair.? If yes, what countermeasures should be taken to prevent hair loss.?

Its been more than 2 years i came to bangalore. And the first thing i heard a friend of mine suggesting me to look after my hair really bad. Bangalore air is humid and humidity level gets as high as 85% on a rainy day.Hair is hydroscopic in nature that means hair is able to exchange water molecule with moist/dry air.On a humid day it absorbs twice the amount of water against any normal day i.e 15 % after a hair wash. Hair absorb water in a very uneven manner causing some part of hair to swell. It causes twisting and bending into the hair.As an outcome, hair become frizzy and unruly. Combing hair in that condition damages that hair further causing split ends.Another factor is water, but not from humidity, the water you use for hair wash. High TDS level (total dissolved solids) of water further contribute to the hair condition. TDS level in bangalore can be as high as 1600 mg/l in some areas from the prescribed limit of 500 mg/l.Other factors areIntake of higher level metal water mainly zincHormonal imbalancePoor liver functionPoor digestionSo, after a period of hair loss, i learnt my lesson and started taking care of my hair.Wash hair with filter water/ RO waterIf you dont have clean water then just give a last rinse with RO Water/ Mineral water.Use hair oil - kalonji hair oil, it helps with hair fall.Use conditioner after hair wash. It helps hair to avoid excess moisture from air.Use a deep hair mask once a week.Use a antidandruff shampoo once a week. It helps removing shampoo and oil build up on scalp.Do not brush moist, frizzy hair. Apply a serum/oil before brushing such hair.Use anti-frizz spray and hair product to avoid bad hair day.Keep your head covered if possible.Let your hair dry completely before braiding/styling.Get a regular trimming to avoid a head full of split ends.Hope this helps.
