How To Put An Equalizer Onto A Video Using Sony Vegas/adobe After Effects

Should I use the Sony Vegas or the Adobe Premiere/After Effects?

I would say that it really depends on what your goals are. Let's say you are creating video for web, or  you want to add stunning visual effects to your projects then my vote would be for Premier Pro and After Effects. Chances are good that you are using design software as well (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc..). With the latest Creative Cloud Suite you have access to all of these programs and they play so well together that your results will be astounding.  In addition, with After Effects there are some very intense plugins that can help you accomplish brilliant visual effects that will take your projects to a whole new level. As for pricing issues, I have found that a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud is affordable for most agencies. Adwebvertising uses the Adobe CC and we enjoy the benefit of all of the Adobe products with one convenient license. When I first began using After Effects, I had a bit of a learning curve, but with the help of tutorials on YouTube and a subscription to Online Video Tutorials & Training from Lynda I was able to quickly overcome any apprehensions that I had about being a newbie to the Adobe world. Even today as a seasoned PS user, I still refer to tutorials and such to improve my skill. Most professionals understand that you never stop learning. Here is a little tip for you if you decide to go the Adobe route: Did you know you can create a story board in photoshop and import it directly into after effects for animation? This is something that will save you a ton of time in production and rendering. What an awesome feature!

Final cut X pro or Sony Vegas, which one is better and why?

If you check through my answer to the “Which one is better…” questions you will see that it remains the same: Which every one you know how to use i the better one. Why? It is because all NLE’s basically do the same job though they might get there using a different path. Knowing how to use your program of choice makes it better than another program; it means you know how to get to your end result faster than if I were to try to get you to do the same edit using a different program. Your entire editing experience will be better, more fluid and less frustrating.I’ve used Vegas Pro for many years and even got my certification a few years back (when Sony still owned it). To me it was far better than every other NLE I tried. At that time Premiere Pro had to transcode many file formats just to add them to the timeline, Final Cut was only on a more expensive Mac and Avid was cumbersome and expensive to use. But for me to get to that point I dedicated a lot of time studying Vegas and learning how to use every aspect of the program. While I have switched to DaVinci Resolve for editing and color correction I still miss certain features of Vegas Pro because I know how to use it better than I know DR. If I have to do a simple editing project I will turn to an old copy of VP.The purpose of any NLE to get a mix of video, audio, graphics and pictures into a final creation to show family and friends or to provide to your company or a client. All of them do it in a different way and most of them can do the same thing. The “better” one is the one you know better than the others that can do everything you want it to do.One downside to Vegas Pro is that while it integrates with an Audio program (Sound Forge) it doesn’t natively integrate with a FX Graphics program like After Effects (Premiere) or Motion (Final Cut) though you can use third party plugins. II have used Vegas with After Effects but the workflow is slower than if I were using Premiere.

Why does my audio in Sony Vegas sound bad when I render the video?

Check your render settings. Make sure your audio rendering is sufficiently high quality. My baseline bitrate for AAC audio is 192 kbps (this is in Vegas Pro 13 but should be similar for Vegas 10):You can check what the rendered file’s audio bitrate is by right-clicking and selecting Properties > Details. You could also use MediaInfo, or even just drop your rendered file back into Vegas and look at its Properties.

Audio Visualizer (Audio Spectrum)?

You could scroll through video sites like youtube and youtube to locate a video that has what you like or something similar. Then either use www.keepvid.com to download a copy OR use a screen recorder (like BB Flashback, Camstudio, or one that came with your computer, etc.) & play it on your web page & record that square. You can adjust how large it is, in the best quality first before recording, by resizing the page or selecting a decent size option (large player) so you aren't recording something tiny then having the quality diminish if you try to use it to music you like. I think most screen recorders allow you the option of leaving out the audio. I'd do this.

One you've recorded a video you most like, then you can drop it in an editor then replace the audio or drop in your own. I know it's not video creating from scratch, but it's a nice shortcut if you're limited. Type in the youtube search "animated" or "visual audio" or "animated audio mixer live wallpaper" etc. to locate more videos.

You could probably also search for 3D animated screensavers, then use the video you record of the preview of the length you like.

Another idea is to find your screen savers or "live wallpaper" & record with a screen recorder, the window of "preview" mode for the length you want it to match your audio.

Check your computer to see what free screen recorder you might already have that came with it. I have one on here & never knew it before. They are small downloads as well for other free recorders.

Let me know what you found that worked for you.
