My husband doesn't respect my authority?
I've been with my husband for 8 years and we've been married for 3. We have a 2 year old daughter & bc of my husbands schedule I spend more time with our daughter. My husband works from 9-5 but bc of late hours/traffic he usually leaves about 7am & returns at 10pm. He doesn't get a chance to see our baby on weekdays so he always tries to wake her up when he gets home. I always tell him to stop doing that bc he sees her for about 10min then goes about his business. She then stays awake for about 3hrs and I'm the only one dealing with her. I'm getting so frustrated bc I never have time to myself. I'm so sick of him ignoring my commands. What should I do? Nothing seems to work.
Why do a number of people disrespect the elderly? (see more)?
I have heard that only the strong strive.. that you should leave the weak and poor to die. My grandmother was disrespected and neglected in a nursing home. I was young then… and my mother had cancer. My uncle was the one who put her there… she had no phone… no chairs… hardly no food… and she only had her bed to sit on. Her osteoporosis worsened. She fell repeatedly and had so many bad places on her head… it was hard to comb her hair… she was almost skin and bones… my uncle did not care. The people at the nursing home tied her down… (why? I don't understand) she got bed sores… no one there cared… not my uncle. She got a bad infection… my uncle finally allowed her to be taken to the hospital… but then he told the doctors to do nothing for her. When my parents/etc learn of this it was too late, the infection had spread through out her body… her heart was strong, but she died that night. My uncle was happy. ...
I don't think my dog respects me.?
hey everyone, thank you so much for all the tips. I just wanted to add some more details. My dog has lots of toys in her crate. Every school night, I prepare a kong full of treats (sometimes pnut butter, applesauce, chicken broth, or kong stuffing) and freeze it. When I go to school, I put it in her crate. On MWF (monday, wed., fri.) I leave her for about 2-3 hours a day. On TTH (tues and thur) I leave her for about 4 hours a day. I play with her constantly such as telling her to stay and then hiding treats all over the house and telling her to go find them, I fill the tub with about 3 inches of water and she likes to play in it, I chase her, I play fetch with her etc etc. I feel that perhaps the person who said I could be smothering her is right in a sense. But, I'm scared that if I leave her alone to do her own thing, she'll just think it's great and go off and find someone else. and I read that spitting in a dogs food was good, guess I should stop? lol
Is it good for a girl to be a motherly type person..i mean nature like a mother?
Certain parts of a wife acting like a Mother are nice, but just don't "smother " him. Moms tend to be a little smothering at times, like, "Get your coat on, did you eat?, it's cold out, be sure to wear enough clothes, etc"! Men like to be shown love, just don't overdo it! Overall, I'd say it's a good habit to have though. I kind of wish I had a good woman that was natured "like a Mother" at times, to make me feel secure, and warm. Instead, all I have is ME!

How can I get my mom to understand that fornication is not OK?
I am a Muslim and my mother identifies as a Christain. I love my mom dearly, but she has a terrible habbit of abusing her belief that Jesus died for her sins. She had cheated on my father several times during their marriage, and continues to have sexual relationships with men outside of marriage. I hate to admit it, but my mother is very permiscuous. I know Islam and Christianity differ in some areas, but this is one area I know for a fact that both religions agree on, yet she will not isten to me when I ask her to please respect herself, or she gets mad when I tell her I do not want her comming over to my house with her various boyfriends or bring my children on over night trips with them. When she asks why I always tell her the same thing "I think fornication is a sin, I don't want my kids to think its OK" then she explodes at me and starts on an anti-Islamic tyraid. What Bible scriptures can I use to remind her of the seriousness of this offense? Thank you in advance!
Did Jesus screw up when he didn't proclaim that respect is greater than love?
I really wonder where this question comes from. I wonder if it is not the cry or a response to the cry of those who want the freedom to sin without the intrusion of loving rebuke.First let’s talk about love. Love is not a feeling. Love is obedience to the commandments of another person. You love your baby and so you obey their command when they say, “Feed me, now change my diaper, now hold me and hum to me as I sleep and drool on you and now tell me how cute I am and now watch me while I sleep …. don’t doze off” And so on. In other words, the constraint of a relationship are the commands which when obeyed are love. If a mother refuses to be a mother, refuses the constraints of motherhood, then she doesn’t love her baby. If a husband refuses the constraints of husbandhood, breaks his vows, then we say that he doesn’t love his wife. Hence Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey my commandments.” Love is inseparable from the command. Love is the command expressed through deed. The command is love communicated in words.What exactly is respect? Whatever definition you give, respect always operates relative to a standard. An arbitrary standard. Hence there is no respect without adherence to some arbitrary standard whether it is personal, societal, cultural and so on. In other words, respect is born out of love for a standard. Love and the chosen standard determine respect. Love is higher than respect.Now why didn’t Jesus Proclaim respect to be higher than love? Because it isn’t. Because Jesus Is God’s Standard. God Is Jesus’ Standard. Because His Kingdom is not of this world. He Doesn’t play by your rules. God IS NOT a respecter of men. God Respects Himself. He Respects His Name and His Name Is Love. He Is His Own Standard. He Came to love you and NOT respect you.Love will die for you on the cross. Love will disrespect you by dying for you on the cross to show you how horrible your sins are. Love will disrespect you by washing your feet. Love will disrespect you by healing your diseases. Love will disrespect you by giving you a new heart. Love will disrespect you by changing your diapers as you wah wah wah away. Love will disrespect you by embracing you as you cry long into the night. Love is disrespectful … too disrespectful to let you die eternally in hell.So far from screwing up, Jesus, Who Is Man and God, could do nothing else but proclaim Love as Highest. For He Is.
