Locked Bios On Sony Vaio PCG-6H8P?
Ola..I have this Sony laptop which was given to me..the problem is when i start it up it requires a password to unlock the bios..i cant even reformat the thingy..now i don't have the password cos it was not enabled by me and was wondering if anybody experienced the same problem before and did ya'll managed to unlock it preferably using a software..any comments would be appreciated..thanks

Best way to reset the BIOS is to open up the laptop and take the battery out from the mainboard, then put it back in. But, if you take the mainboard battery out make sure that you have all other sources of power disconnected (AC power and notebook battery). You should keep it out for about 5 minutes. Well I have a Sony Vaio laptop model PCG-GR370 that I bought about 2yrs. ago and about a month ago it crashed on me and started asking me for the bios password.I dont know the password and the person who sold it to me does not know it either.So I know a little bit of electronics and I opened the laptop to drain the CMOS battery(and yes everything was unplugged) but that didn't work and I've tried several passwords that I found online but they didn't work either.So I ask you guys what else can I do to over come this problem?Is there jumpers on this laptop?Cause if there is I can't find them.Or is there another battery or some type of bios reset button?

Remove CMOS BATTERY upto 5–10 minutes and main battery also…. In mother board some capacitors will still having power so it wants to drain so give much time to discharge or you can see the jumper inside….short the capacitor terminals near cmos battery side for fast discharge……
