How To Reduce Eye Sweeping After Fight

How do i reduce swelling by my eyebrow?

i got hit in the head, and i couldn't ice it immediately because i was in the middle of a game...

Will ice stil work? or is there another way to reduce the swelling

My cat got into a fight and his eye is swollen, what should I do?

My cat came in last night and I noticed his eye wasn't open all the way when he was looking at me. I didn't think much of it until I took a closer look and saw a bloody scratch on his ear and down by the corner of his mouth. I let it go because it was midnight and there was nothing I could do about it. This morning, the whole left side of his face was so swollen he couldn't open his eye. I gave him some antibiotics that he had left over from a UTI infection, then I gave him another dose when I got home from work. It seems like the swelling on his face has gone down a lot, but his third eyelid is partially covering his eyeball. His eye isn't leaking any fluid, and there isn't any yellowish discharge that you would see with an infection. I do not want to spend the money to go to the vet, just to have them prescribe more antibiotics; however, I hate seeing him like this. I need to know if this is just part of the healing process, or if this is something that has to be taken care of by the vet. Again, I have enough antibiotics to treat any kind of infection. I am just wondering if he might need some kind of surgery or something?

How do I reduce swelling around my eye after touching jalapenos?

I made jalapeno poppers lastnight... and although I wore gloves when I seeded the peppers, I still touched them plenty by the time I was done. I washed my hands afterwards. I know that doesn't necessarily get all the "juice" from the peppers off, but I was so tired I didnt really think about it. I have bad allergies and rubbed my eyes quite a bit without thinking... This morning I woke up with my eye swollen so bad I was afraid I had pink eye! Until I remembered the peppers! What can I do to relieve my poor eye? So far I have just put a cold rag on it. I have heard about tea bags, coffee soaked rags... but not sure what really works. The last thing I want to do is damage my eye more! haha Thanks!

Quickest least painfuo way to get rid of eye swollen from a fight?

Not being a complete idiot, and also because I can barely see over the big purple lump under my eye, I know I was given a pretty good soon to be black eye! I was punched underneath my eye half an hour ago and it keeps swelling. Mind you my eyes are usually sunken so the extending bump under my eye really is swelling.
Now, I have no doubts it will get worse since it kinda is worse than these 5 minutes photos already.
So I need a miracle cure.
Also rate how bad my eye is and how bad it's gonna get. Best rating wins points.

What helps bring down swollen eyebrows after you get hit in the face?

Unfortunately, there's not much that you can do but ice, ice, and ice (with 20 minute breaks in between). Also, while putting a lot of pressure on the bump might make it look smaller at first because it will disperse the blood that has pooled, it's very short term and will result in a bigger, darker bruise surrounding the bump (which may get even larger as a result). Right after the injury, it can help to take a combination of acetaminophen/aspirin/caffeine (like Excedrin), as it will help with pain while also constricting blood vessels thanks to the caffeine.

It's easier to prevent swelling than to make it go away, unfortunately, but once the swelling is as bad as it will get (usually ~48 hours), you can switch from ice to heat. Just like ice constricts blood vessels (thus preventing blood from collecting), heat dilates (opens) them, which will help encourage the blood that's already there to go away. It's important that you don't start heat too early, however, as it could make the swelling worse. Also, keeping your head elevated and lightly massaging the bruise can help when you are applying heat.

Beyond that there's not much you can do. There are a lot of wives' tales about how to get rid of a black eye, but substituting any of them for the above will only make it worse. Time and temperature are the only surefire remedies.

Hope it helps!
